This Ferguson deal is disgusting. And both sides have handled the entire thing deplorably. I agree

Welp, let me just say this. I understand that blacks have been wronged by whitey since the beginning of time in America. I also understand that the numbers (arrests, sentences, etc) have been greatly disproportionate against blacks when it comes to law enforcement and the judicial system. BUT, Michael Brown is no martyr.

You can go back to being silent.
There was an incident in methland last year where some strung out dipshit snatched a ladies purse in a shopping mall food court. Unknown to him there was a disaster training drill going on there with off duty police officers. So the guy steals the old ladies purse and high tails it out of there with a drove of undercover cops as witnesses. They pursue him and he runs out into the parking lot where his getaway driver is. The suspect gets caught I believe and the getaway driver then floors his car at the off duty cops and they light him up and kill him. About 5 people gave a shit IIRC and there were no charges brought against the 2 officers that discharged weapons. ........and this is all over a purse snatching and its not even the purse snatcher who got killed. I didn't have a problem with their action and if Wilson's story is mostly accurate I don't have a problem with his action. Attacking a police officer to the point where their life may be threatened and forcing them to make a split second life or death decision sounds like a pretty stupid idea to me. It sounds like a horrible position to be put in.

And the gentle giant "Big Mike" had just committed a strong arm robbery minutes earlier.
I remember watching a Youtube video that was shot minutes after the incident. In it, a young man presumably from that community CLEARLY states that Mike Brown turned around and bum rushed the officer. I heard nary a word about that video in the following weeks.
And at some point, social media just started running with the bullshit stories that Big Mike had his hands up. And then Anonymous got involved and made it even worse.

None of that has any bearing on whether there should have been an indictment returned.
Prosecutors who want an True Bill returned on a case get one 99% of time.
In my one month stint on a Grand Jury we heard probably 30-40 cases a day. We returned 1 No Bill.
There is enough evidence to suggest that a crime may have been committed IMO.
But again, this decision to delay the announcement was done to elicit exactly the reaction that it got.

Big Mike attacked the dude in the store. Credible witnesses say Big Mike attacked the officer in his car. Those same credible witnesses say Big Mike doubled back and bum rushed the officer.
I believe that store video goes a long ways towards Mike Brown's state of mind that day.
I think the Grand Jury got it right.

Are there open questions regarding the facts and circumstances of the shooting?
Or do you believe you know what happened during the altercation that led to the shooting?

Are there open questions regarding the facts and circumstances of the shooting? Or do you believe you know what happened during the altercation that led to the shooting? Well Dorian Johnson is the only witness that said Officer Wilson initiated the contact by grabbing a hold of Big Mike through the car window. The same Dorian Wilson who was an accomplice to the strong arm robbery committed by the gentle giant just minutes earlier. The same Dorian Wilson that lied about everything else that happened that day. I'm gonna go ahead and side with law enforcement on this one.

What's also interesting to me is what would've happened if the store owner shot and killed Big Mike after the gentle giant attacked him. Would he have been indicted or would that have been a clear cut case of self defense?

Don't get me wrong in all of this. The Ferguson PD and other agencies have handled this extremely poorly from the get go. The first few days of the protests were unfathomable as to how authorities behaved.
And it seems obvious that the black community there has probably been wronged innumerous times. You wouldn't think tensions could've been this high had they not been wronged countless times.
But to make a movement, and to make a martyr of Mike Brown, based on all of the evidence I've been made aware of, seems like a huge mistake.

Let's just say that Big Mike was an angel that day while interacting with Officer Wilson. And let's just say the non-credible witnesses weren't lying. That would mean that Officer Wilson grabbed the 300 lb Mike, pulled him into his car, shot his hand, let him run away a bit, and then when Big Mike turned around and got on the ground with his hands up, Officer Wilson (who had never fired his gun before in the line of duty EVER) decided to execute a defenseless Big Mike, in broad daylight, in the middle of the community.
Logical.

Who in the blue hell thought it was a good idea to announce the Grand Jury decision at 8 o'clock at night??!! Did they think everybody would be at home watching Monday Night Football? Was everybody at home until they figured out that Sting wasn't gonna show up on Raw and THAT'S what actually set them off? Holy flipper fuck. Who is running the show there? It seems as though the prosecutor calls the shots on EVERYTHING. Where's the Governor, the Mayor, the community leaders, the political leaders, etc......?? They pretty much just all defer to the damn prosecutor. And then I'm watching CNN last night and they got two guys from law enforcement on, and they're going on and on about how they never imagined that what happened on Monday night could have ever happened. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? What did you think was gonna happen? Actually, it makes you wonder if they knew EXACTLY what would happen. It's pretty sad to see such incompetence but if the decisions were made strategically, it's downright disgusting. I mean they weren't even protecting the store that Big Mike robbed. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They got modified tanks rolling down the street because they didn't think anything was gonna happen? ??

See my initial post from Monday.
This was done to elicit the exact reaction that happened. There has been recent talk about the over-militarization of local police forces and whether this is truly needed. Not lately.
They got what they wanted.

On the flip side however, the "supporters" the "protesters" were no better. Just because a recipe for disaster had been concocted, it doesn't mean that it had to get stuck in the oven and eventually devoured.
The looting and destruction of their own community, on businesses and property that were owned by members of their own community, was disgusting.
Now of course the Twittah was quick with the excuse that the looters were from the "outside" and just capitalizing on the opportunity. I'm sure people like Alex Jones are probably saying they were brought in by government officials.
The mother and father of Mike Brown had called for a peaceful response to the decision. And then the step dad is the first one to yell "Burn this bitch down" after the decision was made. Not to mention that this family can't get on camera enough for their beloved gentle giant and yet for some reason, Big Mike lived with his grandmother.
