Ya...I know plenty of people that did not like Obama. None of them were part of that tea party crap. They did the tea party thing in the town I lived in back in Ohio so I actually saw it but didn't know anyone in it.

Why does the Tea Party have to be the be all for the people that disliked Obama? I don't recall anyone suggesting it was. I just brought it up because it was a similar kind of protest with thousands of people exercising their right to protest and each had people with bad behaviors. And I've used it to demonstrate that some people have selective memories and attitudes that favor their tribe. Some people who oppose these protests didn't oppose those. And some people who opposed Tea Party protests don't oppose the ones today. That's the context of the comparison I made, not that either group represents the people who dislike Obama or Trump.

Eventually someone has to be the bigger man and do things right. What does being the "bigger man" and "do things right" mean ? Not exercising one's right to protest? That is being the bigger man? So if people exercise a Constitutional right to protest, they are small?

Yes the hypocrisy from MANY is sad. But when pointed out, they'll deny it. Eventually someone has to be the bigger man and do things right.I have no idea what this means. What does being the "bigger man" and "do things right" mean to you? Not exercising one's right to protest? That is being the bigger man? So if people exercise a Constitutional right to protest, they are "small"?
No. I'm talking about the roles of the past 8 years will now be reversed. Democrats will be the party of obstructionism and Republicans will preach unity and support of the President. I've seen MANY people talk about Trump as #NotMyPresident. These same people were railing against anyone who said that about President Obama. People who talked for the last 8 years about stopping the abuse of Executive Orders will gladly celebrate their use now. It's a vicious cycle and it's tiring.

Exactly. Thank you. I get all that and agree with it. It's the "tribal behavior" I referred to.
What confuses me is you calling the protesters "idiots". That I don't understand. Some surely are by being violent, breaking the law, etc., but there were thousands of people peacefully walking the street this week and throughout our history to protest one thing or another. I don't understand why these people are idiots to you?

Those particular protesters were in fact idiots.
Same as the ones who smashed windows and lit a limo on fire.

You seem to be avoiding my question. I guess I'm missing something here. Doing violent acts is idiocy. Totally agree. But there were thousands of people walking down the street carrying signs, breaking no laws and being peaceful. They are idiots too?

No. My original post was about the people depicted in the tweet that accompanied it.
They were fucking idiots.
I thought that was obvious.

Thank you for the clarification. No it was not obvious because that video in the tweet showed many, many more people walking peacefully than the handful of idiots causing trouble. You used one word, "idiots" to describe the video, so it's not a stretch to think you meant everybody in it.
That's the thing about incomplete or one-word responses. You leave a lot of things open to interpretation.

When Meet the Press sounds like an awful argument between married people.
"Where do you want to go for breakfast?"
"I don't know, why don't you go to Doug's Bachelor Party!"
"That was eleven years ago?"
"DON'T CHANGE THE SUBJECT!!!! WHY DON'T WE GO TO IHOP? YOU CAN GET PANCAKES TOPPED WITH VANILLA AND GLITTER!"

So can you do a Presidential recall? Is that a thing..... like you can do with governors? I think a fair portion of the people who voted for him simply because he was not Hillary are shitting their pants right now. I figured he would just put his thumb up his ass and sit in his big chair and do little to nothing. I did not think he would go General Sherman on the world within five days of getting the gig.

CNN is playing "The Eighties" and Brodus Clay is talking politics on Fox News. Seriously, America has been getting the push for the dumbest fucking country for a while. We finally went for the brass ring.

There is no Earthly way anyone can look at his first week as anything other than an unmitigated and unprecedented disaster.
He stopped people with legal standing in the US from entering the country.
And more sinister, he gave Steve Bannon a spot on the National Security Council for all meetings of the NSC while removing the Director of National Intelligence and the joint chiefs.
He's a dangerous fool who has done more harm to the idea of America than any President in recent memory. Maybe ever.

I would have to imagine the impeachment process has already begun. Thanks Hillary for being such an unlikeable bitch and bulldozing your way to the nomination that this was allowed to happen.

These are frightening times. If this is his first week in office I can't even imagine what racist, ignorant, moronic thing we will be talking about him doing in 3 months. People who think all Muslims are part of ISIS must think all Christians are part of West Baptist Church. This isn't keeping us safe, it is only fueling the recruiting process for ISIS, nothing more. And dismissing the Joint Chiefs from the NSC and appointing Bannon is borderline treasonous. I am sure a good lawyer can make the case. Fuck this guy and if this is what you voted for* fuck you too.
*I accept that you can have voted for Trump and not agree with this EO. IF that is the case you should be louder than anybody railing against this.

His supporters love this. Not all of them. I can't believe that. I think there were a lot of blue collar hard workers who just didn't want Hillary and wanted him to shake up Washington. I get that. But he is showing that he has zero understanding of complex issues and no sense of nuance that it takes to navigate politically. He is also not "draining the swamp". Those people who voted for him based on that have to feel disenfranchised. If not then we are all fucked.
