I may have been watching too much Succession, but what if a wrestling company had a kayfabe board? It's not an authority figure with the same stuff. The board would make decisions on matches, locations, new talent, etc. Uh, like a, (gulp) booking committee?

Former wrestler Billy Jack Haynes was arrested at his home in Portland this week following the fatal shooting of a woman believed to be his wife.
Local news reports that the incident unfolded on Thursday morning with police receiving a call at around 9:52 AM. Upon arrival, they found a woman's lifeless body inside the home of the former wrestler. Hanes had "not cooperated with officers" and with fears that he was armed, a tactical team was brought in.
After a tense standoff, Haynes "eventually came out" of the home and was detained. There is no ongoing threat to the community according to police. Neighbor Steve Odry said the following:
“I decided to go for a walk when I saw all the cops down by my house. And I just then noticed all the blocks taped off and I just came down here.”
Police at the scene did not identify the woman found in the house. It was noted by neighbors that Haynes lived in the home with his wife.

That's all kinds of terrible.
And I can assure you KS, Kevin Sullivan did not do this either.

"Sullivan has since re-married and lives in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle. He also hosts the “Taskmaster Talks with Kevin Sullivan” available wherever you get your podcasts."

The booking committees back in the day were more entertaining than the show. Just not Vince Russo's that was on TV.

My goodness, I forgot how long it took for WWE promos to get to the fucking point. The fans who continued to watch, I have no idea how they did it.

None of it worked, but WCW was trying some things in 1991.

Eugene was a major reason I stopped watching for a while in 2004. There was just so much awful, corny shit in WWE from '04 onward. I won't list it all, but maaaan, Eugene was an automatic channel change for me.

Fritz was a scumbag of a father. I know Kevin is too nice of a guy to admit it, but Fritz is as responsible for the suicides as anyone. Especially in the cases of Mike and Chris. I think Mike's story is the saddest of all. He truly didn't want to be a wrestler but after David died, Fritz insisted on pushing Mike as the reincarnation of David. Mike wasn't a good wrestler and his heart was never in it, but Fritz kept pushing him and he caved under the pressure of failing to live up to the expectations. Fritz was obsessed with living vicariously through his sons and he created the environment that led to all their deaths. He was obsessed with one (or all) of them becoming world heavyweight champions to compensate for the fact that he himself was shut out from being the NWA champion when he wrestled. So he projected all of that angst onto his sons. Not only that, but he commercially exploited the deaths of David and Mike to the point where fans were disgusted by it. He also turned a blind eye to all the drug use that was going on while World Class was still profitable. But as soon as the money stopped rolling in, he got on his high horse and cried to Jerry Jarrett about how unreliable his sons were and how they were screw-ups. No...Fritz was the screw-up. We'll just move this over here......
