Furnas & Lafon vs the Nastys from Japan in 89.
Doug Furnas should’ve been a mega star. Watching RAW’s from 97, he & Lafon were just really bad promos and didn’t show much charisma. They were fucking badasses in the ring, though.

This seems so odd to say but it's true. And I'm so thankful for it. I feel like I was already on a hopeful path but Taya Valkyrie cemented the fact inside of me that I needed to change.

Furnas and Lafon needed a mouthpiece. In hindsight, Don Callis would've been a good fit for Furnas and Lafon in '97. Make em the heel version of the Steiners. Probably would've worked out better than the Truth Commission.

1) Any opportunity to market yourself in wrestling is an opportunity. Take it.
2) If you're so busy with signings (you're not) schedule a time.
3) You're so busy because you probably F'd up your travel or want to grab ass. There's more than enough time in that weekend to do a couple interviews and tell people your upcoming schedule, links, etc.
Each independent wrestler is a small business. Anyone looking to promote your brand is a good thing. He gets that and shouldn't be poisoning the well with dumb thoughts. I don't know Sean Ross Sapp and don't follow Fightful. But if that business is doing well enough to pay the silly table fees for "wrestlers time" then most wrestlers should just get into wrestling sites. It's entitled acting like that which ends up sinking everything. This type of money wasn't in wrestling five years ago. It can go away. Guys like Cardona are always doomed to repeat.

I thought his point was for guys doing these interviews being able to get paid for them. I agree with that.
Don't just do it for "exposure" or whatever. That's how you end up getting in the habit of doing things for free.
Guys should understand their value.

An interesting thread regarding TV ratings.
While some of this is undoubtedly true, a lot of it reads like excuse making for a flat product (AEW).

They have the talent, that’s undeniable, but they don’t have the storylines to draw people in. That’s where WWE has gotten hot, devoting time to actual storytelling.
I love AEW, but with the exception of Edge/Christian and maybe say the Danielson/Eddie respect based story, the only storyline that’s really been built is the MJF/Devil thing, which didn’t have a good pay off due to Cole’s injury.
Tony can’t just have ___ vs ___ in a banger every week without building storylines around them.
If they slowly improve that, one would believe they’d improve viewership and get more eyes on the product.

Really good. Bill Burr was talking about how difficult TV and movie jokes are now because nobody watches the same thing. Everything is way more spread out. My mind shockingly shifted to wrestling.

If you only watch for the Jesse Ventura impressions in the first 30 minutes, I'd suggest taking some time for this one.

That's why I hated Kevin Dunn's invisible backstage camera trope. Because I grew up in an era where the presence of a camera backstage was always explained.

“You were a member of QTV, but since it ended, none of the members want to talk about it. Does that make you QAnonymous?
RJ is the best and Harley is very under-appreciated with the comedy.
