I'm also getting free HBO, Cinemax, Epix for 3 months. I don't really want or need those but I'll take them if they're free. The first thought that occurred to me was that I would record like 200-300 movies off those channels since those movies are way better than the ones I get on my shitty movie channels.
The lady I ended up finally talking to today swore to me that as long as they're recorded on the DVR then I will be able to watch them even after I cancel those channels. I'm skeptical that they'll still be playable.
Thoughts?

That stuff is amazing but it is guarded from the rest of the yards by the magnificent grape vines which are protected by the owl.

This whole water heater thing today has been such a bummer. Over the past couple of years the house has had 3 areas of leakage. (Not the Siragusa type) Most of that had to do with the drainage placement and the soil and surroundings eroding over the years. One of the leaks was somewhat significant while the other two were quite insignificant but I didn't want them to get any worse obviously. Especially with the carpeting and such that was coming into play. So over the Spring and Summer I raised the base with a shitload of soil. Sloped it off and all that. And I mean a shitload of soil. Thousands upon thousands of pounds. The area that had the somewhat significant leak never leaked again all year. I had repositioned and fixed all the drain related stuff and as I stated I went nuclear on the soil element. One of the other areas of Siragusa was in the laundry room. Nothing major but would leak almost like a Dick Trickle (RIP). This didn't concern me much as the laundry room is just cement, the leak was minor and who cares kinda. But I thought it couldn't be all that great to have a leak somewhere in the foundation so I soiled the frick out of that and haven't had a leak since. The last area was discovered when the painter was out. Extremely minor leak, so minor in fact that I had never noticed it before despite being in an area that I would've noticed it. Again, repositioned and corrected potential drain problems, went wild once again with soil, and haven't seen a problem since though it is extremely recent. The last fucking thing I was thinking about was having a problem INSIDE the fucking house. Are you kidding me? 6 damn freaking fucking days after installing new padding and carpeting the water heater decides to give out? Are you freaking kidding me? And damn, first I went through and organized, re-organized, threw out a bunch of shit, and moved every damn thing out of the way for the carper install. Fine. Get all that done and move lots of stuff back into place and continued my browsing for seating, TV's and the like to spruce up the rooms. Wake up somewhat miraculously at 8am this morning (which plays a key part because despite all my whining the flooding and damage was generally contained to a small area in the general scope of things.) But then there it is.....move all the stuff back out of the way again. And now it's a waiting game for the carpet guy to come back out and all the other stuff that has to happen......AGAIN!! And regardless of all of that I feel like a complete snatch to even be bitching and whining in light of the tragic events of this past day. My thoughts and prayers are with those that really need it at this time. I'm at such a loss of words to describe things like this. It tests my faith. I don't understand the hate. I can't comprehend the complete lack of human decorum. It is upsetting to no end. I want to say something profound that will help people but I don't know what to say. Other than I'm ashamed to be upset about my stupid water heater and my stupid carpet.

Those leaks outside are not going away. You really need to dig up the dirt around the foundation on each side of the house and waterproof the walls. Its a pain in the ass but its worth it. You fill one hole and another comes. It alway does. Water will always find and exploit the weakest link. You fix one spot it increases the pressure and another blows.

I hope the grapes fall off and clog up your drains. DAMMITT!

My previous house had a 100 yr old foundation. I repaired every leak....and every time I did a new one appeared. The only good thing was that I left it as a cellar and thus it air dried and no mold.

The grapes are in the back yard. I have no drains in my back yard as its a YARD. The only problem I may have is a god damn mole that is posting up in my window well. He can't chew through the foundation so I suppose I will let him be until he freezes or feeds the OWL.

My initial reaction was to cement in his hole but his hole is harmless. If I move him from his home then he is going to try to move in to my shed or garage. I shall embrace him as a member of the outdoor family....until my OWL eats him.

You have an owl? What are you fucking Harry Potter? Those are some freaking crazy birds man. When we first moved here I was walking along one of the greenways by our house (not what you are thinking KS) and I saw a crow and an owl fighting in the trees above the path. I about shit my pants.

His mom was actually right and it was his birthday.
All his garage time had affected his memory.
