You have to hand it to Pritzker. The legislature passed a ton of stuff on his agenda. It was very ambitious. Now, there are several things I disagree with. But you have to give him credit for campaigning on that stuff and then following through.
Large capital program with associated tax increases. Gambling expansion. Legal pot. Balanced budget. Flat income tax repeal to be sent to voters.
He earned my respect despite broad philosophical differences. This is how you govern.

I'll stick around and see what's next. You'll be back dennis. You said you were out last year too. Nope. Nothing is bringing me back to this show. Way too convoluted.

Job transition advice: do yourself a favor and take an immediate mini-vacation in between jobs that isn’t stressful and all about relaxing. This week has been incredibly therapeutic for me. Nice. I changed jobs just after Christmas. Had been at the same place for 19 years and got recruited with a coworker. I had about three weeks and eventually got bored out of my mind. But it was a great break for sure. Best of luck at the new place.

It finally happened, and I have been waiting for this proposal. Sen Wyden proposed a tax on unrealized capital gains. I want to see how the please tax me more guy, Warren Buffett, responds. He complains how his secretary pays more income tax than him while neglecting to explain why. It is simply because all his wealth is from unrealized gains. Under the proposal he would face more than $15B in income tax liabilities.
The proposal is unworkable. I just want to see how good ole Warren responds.

It was very odd radio. It seemed like LoHo's issue was well beyond just that one Mac and Parkins segment. It runs much deeper and probably gets down to resentment at the way Goff was treated and Parkins getting that prime radio slot.

Polls show JB is going to win big, 20 points or so right now. But it is just another nail in the coffin of this state. Rauner sucks, but he is preventing more taxes and spending. JB will say it is to soak billionaires, you know all ten of them in the state, but his progressive tax is going to be a net revenue raise. It will reach deep into the middle class. Keep in mind states like California have top bracket rates of like 13%. You can bet most folks that you know including your family will be paying more income taxes under a progressive income tax system. And even if on day one you are neutral, once you enact a progressive tax it is a lot easier to raise the rates because you can selectively tax a portion of the voter rolls. With a flat tax, it hits us all equally. JB is absolute scum. This state is somehow going to get worse again. I’m also not interested in giving up even more of my earnings to pay for stupid shit these people will waste money on. I agree. We just closed on a home in Wisconsin. We are going to retire there. I just need to get my kids through college. They are one and two years away from finishing high school. I am going to leave this place at 50 years old.....sad. Been here my whole life.

Spotify has The Daily, which is a NY Times production. I listened to two of them, each about 25 minutes. It was decent. You have to like current global events and politics.

I wish I would have stopped at Season One. There is so much to work with in that storyline and yet they insist on a convoluted narrative. I’ve dumped shows before when they frustrate me and go in circles. This one is long gone.

It’s over me. I have no interest in the show going forward. I largely enjoyed the two seasons and will not get soap opera’d in to a story that is about confusing the viewers.

Every person calling for McHale to be fired should just put a #Trump2020 hashtag in their profile. But their words are doing more for the reelection campaign. Bingo!

My problem is then it's not Westworld anymore. Once you leave that setting, it is a different show. And here is what will happen- you will constantly be wondering who is a host and who is human with the big surprises being people you thought were human ending up as hosts. Oh my!
I'd much prefer that do a spin-off with new characters a different theme like a 25 years on or something.

The multiple timeline thing is frustrating until the point where they tie everything out. I don't see any meaningful reason for the show to continue. So one more episode for me, and I am out. Very little chance this gets better in subsequent seasons. The wow factor is long gone.

I liked the episode in that it kept the story moving forward instead of sideways. I’ll take the finale and then be done with the show. If it has more seasons, then that will be it for me. I don’t need a soap opera. Creative concept that they have stretched out enough already.

Finished the latest episode, which was fine and all. But I really don’t need fresh plot lines and deeper new character dives. I want closure...
It’s going to be a good show regardless of what comes next. But to be great, they are going to have to find a way to make this all tie out cleanly. If it is a choose your own adventure ending (Sopranos eg), then I will be pissed.

I will try to catch the latest episode tonight. I have to admit to being confused as all hell due to the ever shifting time periods in the series. I have this fear that it will wrap up like True Detective rather than the movie Seven. Meaning, I will be confused by the ending rather than feeling like everything tied out nicely.

Sounds like you had a blast. For our family vacations, we usually do nice resorts, so I don't see a ton of the drunken craziness even though I am passing out shortly after dinner from all the drinking in the heat and sun. We have been going with other couples to really enhance the experience.
Where I do see a lot of what you describe is on my summer trips to Vegas. We purposely hang out at the Flamingo pool where it always gets crazy. We see them carrying people out who are sun burnt from passing out on lounge chair or face planting on the concrete. I have seen chicks making out, my friend trying to finger a 60 year old lady and getting rejected, being stalked by a large breasted Canadian lady, getting sexted weeks after my trip (I don't give my number out anymore), ended up in a condo of two women claiming to be witches as my buddy was trying to bang one, among dozens of others wild stuff. We always meet fun people and end up hanging out for several days and often after the pool closes.

When it's warm out I often waver between a good summer beer like Corona and a frozen margarita. But now you don't have to choose with the "invention" of the Coronarita. Just had two big ones last Friday at On the Border. I suggest you down a few of those.

That is particularly true of middle aged women. I just audibly laughed at the pool bar. I'm sharing with some new vacation friends that will appreciate it. Hah, well I am happily married. But I have noticed a big change in women over 40. After they've been crapped on by numerous boyfriends and/or ex-husbands, the bar and pool relationship with decent men changes. Very easy to talk to, and they are the ones buying drinks more times than not.

Tell us you're ok! You gotta check in more often. Hung with the staff until 4 AM. Up for breakfast at 7:15 AM. I've been born again this trip. All I did was ask a bartender what behaviors they like and dislike in travelers. It's amazing how awesome things can be when you just show interest in others. That is particularly true of middle aged women.

Finally caught up on last two episodes. While I enjoy the show and the premise, it is exhausting to watch. This multiple timeline gimmick is just too much and hard to keep straight while watching. I enjoy a challenge when watching a show, but this is like Mensa quiz every week. I hope this isn't the format anymore after this season. Flashbacks are OK but not 3 or 4 timelines happening simultaneously. Agree completely. My complaint is that this could have been an absolutely fantastic one season show. Now they are straying off in too many directions, adding and removing characters, and confusing the audience with the timelines and plots. I thought the show was just fun when guys were coming to Westworld to pound hookers and shoot people. Then it got really deep and complex. And it is turning into a soap opera with things going in circles.
I will watch the rest of this season and then probably say enough. There are still some really fun characters and scenes, but the show is nothing less than exhausting.
