I'm sure most will hate because its the popular thing to say you hate U2 and Bono. Hate away. I know you love them, Ryan, but they just never did it for me. I'm not quite sure that "hating" U2 is the popular thing to do though. They get tons of love, and rightfully so, from most things I see and read. If I don't care for something, I'll just straight up tell you. I'm pretty sure that if there's one thing y'all have learned about me, is that I don't give a rats ass what the "popular" thing to do or say is.

Oh, there are die-hard fans for sure out there that love U2 and thats why they set the largest grossing tour in the history of music last time around.
But at some point the mainstream fans turned on them because U2 was too political for them...except, they've always been political. The difference is these people just didn't like the message this time around - which is fine.
I'd like to make a bigger point on this that isn't about U2 but concert-going whiners. I hate when people don't want their musicians to be political or stand for something or just sing. These people clearly don't understand artists or musicians. If Toby Keith didn't pour his beliefs and politics into his music, then you wouldn't have Toby Keith. Same goes for U2, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Public Enemy, Tupac, The Clash, Johnny Cash, etc. Don't want to hear these people preach for a couple of minutes during their concerts? Don't go. Just remember its part of who they are, why they are inspired and how the music you listen to of theirs was created sometimes. Do I care for Toby Keith's message? Not really. Can I see its a part of who he is and where some of that emotion bleeds into his songs? Absolutely.
My line about hating U2/Bono really was directed at no one. They've kind of become like soccer in a sense. They're arguably the biggest band in the world that is still doing their thing (Stones aside, though U2 remains with all 4 original members) and the most liked band globally... except here.

And this is what makes music/art great and near impossible to ever grade. Rush does absolutely nothing for me, but some people are blown away by them. To each their own... Except Kanye. We all hate Kanye, right?

To each their own...It's silly to argue about music. You are absolutely correct in the "To each their own". Though I can't help myself in taking shots at Hawger Monroe's terrible choices in music. Even in this exchange we're completely different. I'm not into U2 and you don't care for Rush. But I love Rush and can't believe that only 3 dudes can make all of the music. We just all like different stuff. For instance, I'm not a lyric guy. I couldn't tell you half of the lyrics from any of my favorite bands. I just like the sound. Others like their music almost entirely due to the lyrics. And on and on.
