Usually someone dying is a pretty big deal.

Tony Stewarts thing is headed to a grand jury, why hasn't there been more outrage at him returning to the track and sponsors pulling away from him? I've been outraged the entire time. In my opinion, Tony clearly tried to dust Ward Jr and it went horribly wrong. I'm not a legal expert but that's manslaughter or even murder. I guess the difference is that nobody cares about Nascar. The guy confronted him like he was in a cup car on a straightaway during a caution. Nobody can understand what that situation is like unless you walk down the banked corners of a track for themselves. I think he tried so throw some dirt on him but I do not think he had any idea the dumbass was right up on his car like he was. I think its an accident....an avoidable accident that 2 guys actions contributed to but an accident.

Ward Jr didn't do himself any favors but after watching that video about 50 times, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Tony went up on the track towards Ward Jr to dust him and then the spin out sealed the deal.
Just watch that video. Tony is lower on the track and then goes up diagonally towards Ward Jr.

No prison. No probation but a 2 year license suspension to include racing. I guess I would find him guilty of reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

I think at the very, very least it was manslaughter. Should get about 2 years for that.
All that said, can't imagine he'll be found guilty if it goes to trial. But I'd be extremely interested in knowing what that "enhanced video" showed that we possibly don't know about. Whatever it was, it was enough to send this deal to a grand jury.

I think your opinion may be a slight bit biased KS, I know your disdain for him.

Dany Heatley turned a teammate into ichabod crane via a mailbox and got probation, josh brent killed his passenger and got a few months, jim leyritz was acquited after killing a pedestrian and dante stallworth plead GUILTY and got 30 days for drunkenly running over a pedestrian and killing him............and you want smoke to serve 2 years??? I think cases like Josh Brent's are significantly different than the Stewart one. Two buddies were out drinking having a good time and Brent's drunkeness got ol' boy killed. Not to mention Brown's mother pleaded for leniency for Brent. It's disgusting that he got 6 months. Should've got at least 2 years.
In light of that, I'm upping my Felonious Tony recommendation to 5 years.
