Well we never got a team even after the Petit's donated the Bradley Center which was specifically built with hockey in mind. I guess we find it hard to believe or are just ambivalent about the whole thing. |

If anyone actually researched it they would find old crotchety Bill Wirtz caboshed the expansion years ago....this is the same guy who took the Hawks off tv because he was a misguided tight ass prick with no vision at all. He has been dead for a long time now and his son is awesome.....look what he allowed to happen with the Hawks. The Hawks are going to sell out every game just like the Pack for the next decade guaranteed. They have the vision to see that a local rivalry will be a good thing for the game and for business....and for the Cap!! They would probably waive the territorial rights fee......if it even still exists. No one knows.....I remember asking wickett and other guys at the station that last year and no one had an answer.
The Petit's did not have their ducks in order before launching their campaign. The Hawks failures then and sustained success now have a ton of impact here.

Absolutely. The question is whether or not they are going to run out of time. These guys have to show up with 500 mil....like now.....and they have to shoe horn their way in front of Vegas and Quebec who both seem to be at the front of the line. Maybe they can get Florida to relocate to Quebec since they have a new arena (with no team) and are ready to rock. Then Milwaukee and Vegas can have the 2 expansion spots.
