He's being booked really strong.
His totals looks a bit better due to the forfeit win against Nakamura but they seem to be really behind him.

I've seen a couple of Elgin matches so far & they've been incredibly good. Read he's been having the most strong matches in the tourney. Good for him.
Person I've been ignoring & didn't realize he has 8 points is Fale. Kinda surprised by that. We'll see how far that goes though.

Fale will start losing and end up in the middle of the pack.

Tanahashi beat Shibata. He's like "Hulk Hogan in the 80's" over in Japan.

BLOCK A – Tetsuya Naito – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] – Bad Luck Fale – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] – AJ Styles – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] – Hiroshi Tanahashi – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] – Katsuyori Shibata – 8 POINTS [4 wins, 3 losses] – Kota Ibushi – 6 POINTS [3 wins, 4 losses] – Togi Makabe – 8 POINTS [4 wins, 3 losses] – Toru Yano – 4 points [2 win, 5 losses] – Hiroyoshi Tenzan – 2 POINTS [1 win, 6 losses] – Doc Gallows – 2 POINTS [1 win, 6 losses]
BLOCK B ~ Kazuchika Okada – 12 POINTS [6 wins, 1 losses] ~ Karl Anderson – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] ~ Hirooki Goto – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] ~ Shinsuke Nakamura – 10 POINTS [5 wins, 2 losses] ~ Michael Elgin – 8 POINTS [4 win, 3 losses] ~ Tomohiro Ishii – 8 POINTS [4 wins, 3 losses] ~ Satoshi Kojima – 4 POINTS [2 wins, 5 losses] ~ Yuji Nagata – 4 POINTS [2 wins, 5 losses] ~ Yujiro Takahashi – 4 POINTS [2 wins, 5 losses] ~ Tomoaki Honma – 0 POINTS [7 losses]
Block A is impossible. I don't know NJPW like you guys but I can't believe Fale and Naito are up there. (Though scorejr does rave about Naito often.)
If I wouldn't have gone with Okada in the other contest, I was leaning heavily towards Tanahashi.

Naito has always been good in the ring but he was a bland baby face until recently. His time in CMLL as part of Los Ingobernables gave him new life as a heel.
Fale is a mystery because he's been pushed high before (he's had multiple IC title runs), but seemed to be getting buried lately. Maybe this means Gedo and Jado have hopes for him again.

My guess is that since Fale vs AJ happens next, maybe it'll put some desertion in the Bullet Club? Hopefully AJ wins that match.
I love it because so many guys are still in it, with 4 days left, it's really up in the air.

I absolutely LOVE the NJPW matches. They're so good that you almost don't need announcers but I do wish there was an English feed.

Bullet Club dissention in the AJ-Fale match.
Maybe plan to break Fale away from them? They do have Cody Hall waiting in the wings and he's a monster as well.

I didn't see the match, but looked to see how short the match was. I was thinking maybe 6 or 7 minutes.
Less than a minute?? Wow.

Wow, friggin Honma! I also think Goto & Elgin wrestle at ROH next week, so that's a perfect rematch & I assume Elgin gets his win back. Agreed though, Elgin is getting over huge, couldn't be happier for him.
Next few days will be fun. Like how this has been booked thus far.

I'm so happy for Elgin. I can't remember if we ever posted this anywhere but this was from his Facebook as he readied himself for the G1:
Reflecting time July 15, 2015 at 11:36am Tomorrow I fly out to Japan to take part in NJPW's G1 climax, and thinking about that has given me many days to reflect on the past 9 months.
On 1 hand my personal life has been fantastic, I get to enjoy everyday with the love of my life and we have our first child on the way. A son, don't get me wrong I would have been just as happy with a daughter but every man wants a son. I've hit PR's in the gym that many would call outrageous. So many amazing things have happened personally I feel like I'm the luckiest man in the world (my wife definitely has ensured in the luckiest, I love her more than any words could explain). But professionally well that's a different story. For the first time in my life I let what people said effect me. Now reflecting on it, it goes back almost a year at Best in the World 2014. That night I realized a dream I had since 2002, I became ROH world champion.
You're probably asking yourself why does this feeling of my professional life not feeling whole start on a night that I should have been happy, should have felt like I had the world at my finger tips. Well truthfully that night I did feel that way, family, friends and fans congratulating me on a 12 year accomplishment made me feel amazing. But for the first time in my life I started to listen to the doubters. I let the negative in and it begin to tear my apart.
September 6th 2014 was one of the most difficult days I've ever encountered. I lost the world title I worked so hard to win, I was stuck in Canada away from the most important person in the world to me and instead of staying strong I became weak. I let it beat me down to the point I didn't think I was going to get up. You all saw it, I wasn't myself I let my heart full with hate. I truly thought I was done with ROH I was ready to walk away.
I can back in late oct, but I have to be honest until about March of this year I felt like I wasn't ready to put the past behind me. Something happened March 1st that made that passion and that love for ROH come back. I may not have won back the World Title but as I left ringside a man walked by me, that man was Samoa Joe. I remember watching his historic run as ROH world champion, in that moment when the crowd rose to there feet and chanted welcome back a switch went of in my head. That day changed my focus, it changed my outlook and in that moment looking in Joe's eyes I saw his passion and love for not only wrestling but ROH.
The next day I flew home and as soon as I landed In STL I went to the gym with a not so new mindset. I need to be ROH World Champion again. Later on that month I received news I would be going over to NJPW for the G1 Climax and a feeling that I only ever felt once rushed over my body. I have voiced my love for NJPW, I voiced the want to compete for them and it finally came true. That feeling of accomplishment was the same feeling I felt when I won the ROH World Title.
I fly out tomorrow and I now have a month to make myself better. I get to compete with some of the best wrestlers in the world. This is a huge accomplishment and a big deal to be part of such a monumental tournament. But more so then ever this is a test, this is preparation to come back stateside to ROH and regain the top prize in wrestling...The Ring of Honor World title.
Fans, I'm sorry if I ever let you down I am back and I promise to be better than ever. You've seen me back at full force as of late, but in 1 months time you see an even better me. The ones that stood beside me I thank you, hell the ones that turned your back on me I don't blame you. But now, now is the time you want to see Michael Elgin. I have a new lease on life, a new passion, a new love for ROH and Pro Wrestling that burns hotter and brighter than ever before.
To my wife, I love and cherish you. Thank you for your support and for everything you do. Sorry I won't be here for the next month to help you with the late stages of pregnancy. But this month I do something for our son, I leave a legacy that won't be forgotten something he can tell his friends about over the years. You're the best thing that ever happened to me, and this is for us and our son who's on the way.
