Well what if there's no ID law? Dude comes along, steals my mail and goes and votes. Then what?

I don't disagree with the idea of a voter needing an ID. But if you want to implement one then obtaining one should be painless and costless.
The hidden goal of voter ID is primarily to make obtaining one cumbersome for certain segments.

In theory, having a photo ID to vote seems simple. Suggesting there should be a cost involved with voting is a scary proposition. A $20 State ID fee is nothing more than a revenue source for the state. In most states, $19 of that might as well be lit on fire behind the DMV. There's no reason an individual couldn't be provided with a photo ID for voting free of charge. While I usually agree that free is very expensive, this would be an easy compromise. If we want to get started with the reasoning some in the establishment have to the push for photo ID's, that's another argument.

I've heard you can't judge someone based on how they were as a freshman in college. Fuck that. Sure you're going to make a ton of mistakes, and not be who you will ultimately become. But you're still that person, and you show your core. If you'll pardon the expression. On a side note, Ted Cruz college stories are outstanding.

So what should be the fee for being able to exercise a constitutional right? We can all surely afford $20 but many can't. We all have our price of what we can afford to exercise our constitutional right. So how would the supporters of this idea feel about $1,000? $10,000? $50,000. No? Why not? Because it's too high a price for them to pay themselves? Well $5 is too high a price for some.
And since some want people to pay for this constitutional right, then maybe we should charge for every constitutional right then? How about the same fee for our ability to exercise free speech on a website or to pray?

I find it hilarious that Ted's very young daughters seem to be complete assholes. I wonder where they get it from?

Interesting read.
This "movement" seems to be simply an offshoot of the Tea Party (remember them?).

It may be an offshoot in that it was created from similar frustrations, but it's also an offshoot of Obama also. The 2008 election with Obama and the 2010 Tea Party elections were people wanting change and not getting what they wanted. The 2008 election was people wanting liberal change. They didn't get it. The Tea Party was a reaction to 2008 and that group wanted conservative change. They haven't gotten it. This time, it's just change the players and get rid of the "establishment" without much regard for ideology, and hope that works.
These people will not be satisfied even with Trump. Why? Because while they all want change, what they really want is so different. It's not one "thing". So even if the players change, the results won't satisfy them. Many liberals for Trump want more stuff. Many "moderates" for Trump want him to give them a job and make foreigners the bad guys. Many Conservatives for Trump want lower taxes, make the white man supreme again and give priority to laws favoring God and Guns. Each group of people sees "change" with Trump and interprets what they are going to get very differently. He has a wide group of people with very different interests supporting him. This cannot possibly end well for him if he is elected. He won't be able to please most of them. If Trump is elected, he won't have any kind of governing majority when so many of both Republicans and Democrats despise him.
But it won't be any different no matter who is elected. If Cruz is elected, the liberals will hate him. Unless he has both houses of Congress, nothing will change. If Hillary is elected, the conservatives will hate her and seek to impeach her from day 1. If Republicans hold one house of Congress, nothing will change.
For Trump or any other politician, it really won't get fixed until people recognize that their opinions and what THEY want have to be mostly irrelevant when they vote. Good luck with that trying to convince people the common good is more important than their own good. Won't happen. People like that won't get elected in the current all about me America. Conservatives will never admit higher taxes on the rich or more free stuff for the poor is best for the country, liberals will never admit hating muslims and building walls is best for the nation, etc. We're screwed.

I'm just not so sure that the Conservative platform of: Anti-woman Anti-Latino Anti-Black Anti-Muslim Anti-LGBT Anti-Climate Anti-Women's rights
is a great idea.

The DNC primary system seems like complete horseshit. They are going to nominate who they damn well please regardless of the actual primary results.

I just bought Trump at +328 to win the election. I do not think he will win, but I expect the polls to be much closer in key states like Ohio, Pa and Florida which should drive overall odds down, and for this to get under +200. Looking to buy Hill at -200 or less, and profit either way. If it gets there, will make 1.7 units on a 4 unit bet. Not a bad 42% return if I am right that the odds will come down. Even if it only gets to -250, it will stll be >20% ROI. Here is the math fyi.
Risking 4 on Trump @ +328 = 4 to win 13.12 Hope to risk 11.42 on Hill @ -200 = 11.42 o win 5.71
IF Trump wins, +13.12-11.42 = 1.7 units won If Hill wins, +5.71-4=1.71 units won

There will be entertainment though on our way to Doomsville:
Or, as Jan Franck, 65, a retiree in Charleston, W.Va., put it after hearing Mrs. Clinton speak on Tuesday: “She could be a sock puppet running against Donald Trump, and I’d vote for her.”
