Agree. The R Senate is gone and the House is in real jeopardy. I wonder how all the Trump supporters will like the 4 more years of total Democratic rule their actions will cause?
Jeb and Kasich have kept their sanity and are putting their principles and love of country ahead of their hate for Hillary. We are finding out who the real leaders are and who are the opportunists.
Public figures and politicians who support Trump are earning a new line in their bios: "He/she supported a racist for Prez in 2016."
Likewise, those who support Hillary also earn a line in their bios: "He/she supported a criminal for Prez. in 2016."

Does anyone actually believe Trump is going to build a wall?

I voted for Kasich in the primaries. Originally I wanted Rubio, but he proved to be unprepared for the big stage. As a Libertarian leaning Republican, I will vote with my heart and vote Libertarian this year. I did the same thing when McCain ran. I am at the point where I hardly recognize the Republicans. They are so focused on fighting social change like gay marriage at the expense of small government, free markets and trade, and fiscal prudence. Instead, they'd rather fight wars all over the globe, cut taxes while the deficit balloons, and worry about bathroom usage.
The Republicans need to unify around core principles. Otherwise, you are pandering to media whores like several Tea Party guys who have caused trouble in the House and Populists like Trump. I don't even know what it means to be a Republican anymore. If I had my way, these things would become core principles: -Leave bedroom issues in the bedroom. The Supreme Court has already decided on abortion and gay marriage. Stop trying to turn back the clock and just live and let live. -Project power with the military but from a defensive posture. The tone should be, if you attack us or our allies, we will come after you hard. This approach instead of intervening in places like Libya and Syria. We created the mess in Iraq and Afghan. No more of that. -Balanced budgets. I hate taxes and government spending as much as the next guy, but it is much worse to spend money we don't have. We need sound money and a balanced fiscal approach. -Reduce the Federal Bureaucracy and regulation. The EPA, SEC, CFPB, Fed, NLRB, FCC, DOL and FTC are strangling business. -Reform and harmonize tax laws. The corporate tax regime is a mess with so many loopholes like S Corps, MLP's, LLC, REITs and other pass throughs as well as the territorial system. The entire AMT regime is a joke too. I am a CPA and can barely file my own taxes. We need to make the U.S. the number one place to do business. -A huge emphasis on education. While I prefer a local approach to most issues, I want to see a "man on the moon" approach to educating all children. They includes technical training, core learning, setting high expectations of parent, teacher, and students. -Immigration reform and outreach to minority groups. Stop pandering to racist whites and older voters. The party needs to be inclusive. Immigrants add skills and richness to our culture. Embrace these freedom seeking individuals.

That would be a Republican Party most people could get behind. denisdman for President! I want what is best for this country and all its citizens. I am not some well off guy who wants to stay that way by pushing other people down. I want opportunities for all, and that starts with education, tolerance, and a strong economy. It does us no good to have Chicago Public Schools "educating" kids at a level where they can't find career opportunities. I am hoping the Republicans get slaughtered in the fall for the disgrace in the way they ran Congress. Then they can have a come to Jesus moment where they need to decide how to win broad public support. Right now they are pandering to the lowest common denominator of about 35% of the population. They don't have any realistic solutions to what ails a fractured society.

Does anyone actually believe Trump is going to build a wall? His supporters appear to be buying it, but they don't seem to be the kind of people who can figure these things out and know when they are being lied to. Or maybe Trump himself is too stupid to figure it out. He says something and then expects people to do the impossible. And building this 2,000 mile wall in four years is impossible.
He won't even have all the land bought, concrete plants built or roads built to get access to the border, let alone a wall built. Much of the border is on private property. The govt. will have to buy the land from thousands of property owners. You think they are going to roll over and take the first offer to have walls going across their back yards and land? Then there is the road building necessary just to be able to get heavy equipment -- particularly semi trucks carrying panels and concrete trucks into many thousands of miles of land that is currently not accessible by roads. SO people will just let heavy trucks across their property without putting up a fuss? We are talking about years of contentious litigation and eminent domain proceedings. With the price rising with every resistant landowner.
Actually constructing the wall in four years also seems impossible. Assuming you can get manufacturers to build that many wall panels, how long will it take to build 50 concrete plants across the Southwest so there is at least one concrete plant to serve every 40 miles of wall? Eminent domain, construction costs, finding that much rock and gravel, transporting it hundreds of miles, finding the labor and building housing for people to live and work in the remote desert for months? That all will take years.
Not a chance in four years. Maybe he will get a showcase wall built for a few hundred feet in four years. But 2,000 miles of wall? Hell we could not build 2,000 miles of a single lane road across public owned land in four years, let alone a multi-story wall across mostly private property.
20 years maybe.

By the way, when Trump took over the Taj Mahal hotel in mid-construction, he said it would take $250 mil to finish it. It took Trump over 3 years and $1 billion to build that hotel. So when it comes to construction projects, he does have a track record of over-promising and under-delivering.

Trump and Clinton issued their comments about the Orlando shooting. Both were really bad and both sought to use tragedy to benefit themselves. Trump's comments were about him and shameless self promotion about he will make America safer. But that is what we have come to expect from despicable donald. Clinton's were more sympathetic but dumb and incomplete. She said we must "redouble our efforts" to combat terrorism. Didn't we "redouble" against terrorism about ten times already? Aren't we already redoubled, retripled, requadrupled...? If not, why not? No, redoubling the same old BS is not going to get it done.
Shameful or stupid. Take your pick.

What would make america safer is if they would both shut it. This guy didn't didn't care about killing 50+ people...he cared about the reaction he got from killing 50+ people. If they actually want to do something productive then start dumping money into intelligence and have the people on the watch list silently dissappear. Now you aren't scaring the shit out of everyone, you are not inciting new recruits and you are watching and removing the problems. There shouldn't even be a watch list...it should be called a gone list.

This probably belongs in the Preposterous Thoughts thread but I didn't want to muck that up. And really, is there any way to further muck up this election cycle? So it fits well here.
So anywho, with the whole transgender deal.....If they get to pick their restroom and all that stuff, what happens if they kill somebody and are sent to prison?

That's totally normal less than 5 months from the election. The campaign made Donald "Fucking" Trump the Republican nominee for President! The guy must have been found with a live boy or dead woman to be fired almost four months before the election.

Yeah I don't know why he would do this unless he's doing too well and he's nervous he might actually win.

They need a new candidate come convention time. I fear the crazy theory that Trump is punting this election for old friend hillary may actually be true.

The only argument I have is the overwhelming belief that conservatives are the only people falling for these schemes. There are disenfranchised liberals that will also fall for these tricks. Anyone that feels the system, or a system, is negatively impacting them are susceptible to a good scheme.

Ya know, I'm as much of a non Trump guy as the next guy but what's with the buzz surrounding the dumb logo for him and Pence? I really don't see the T fucking the P. I mean how in the ever loving fuck do you come to that conclusion?
I also saw the gif one where it's a mattress and the Trump T is fucking it or whatever. There's another one where it's a swastika.
That fucking guy has a few hundred thousand of things to criticize him about but this logo stuff is an embarrassing stretch.
