This makes the fanbase sympathetic to Reigns. It was a very smart move. We'll see but I doubt it. I think alot of fans like me want to shit on Reigns at every given opportunity. This kind of gave us that and then took it away by giving a god awful Sheamus the belt. If they keep playing keep away from him it will really build him as a face. |

I did my best impression of what I'd be like in a writers meeting before Survivor Series. It started with Charlotte and Paige, and I was half asleep the rest of the show.
I agree to an extent with Kesha. This was fully designed to change the perception of Reigns. He had to battle in tough matches, and he never betrayed anyone. He got the post match rub from Ambrose. In the ultimate act of defiance, he speared Hunter. Face Reigns now chases the evil corporation. It's lazy, but that's all they know these days. Honestly, it would be solid booking if he had been properly built from the beginning.

Thinking about it this morningt, this really started at the Rumble. Had it been down to Bryan/Reigns final 2
Bryan & Reigns are the final 2 in the 2015 Rumble.
Bryan eliminates Reigns to win it. 2nd year in a row Reigns comes close to winning & fans go apeshit Bryan won.
Bryan vs Lesnar at Mania ends with Seth cashing in as what originally happened. Reigns does something else on the card.
Over the next few months you have Reigns in upper card feuds, sporadically have interactions with The Authority.
Reigns gets screwed out of the title last night. Authority is happy.
Reigns loses the rematch at TLC due to shenanigans. Trips says Reigns will never be champ as long as he's around.
Reigns must find a way to get a shot, THEN he wins the 2016 Rumble, after being so close.
Reigns goes on to main event Mania, something he's never done before & wins the title, finally beating The Authority to stand tall.
The good guy, feel good story, was there, but they felt the need to shove Reigns down the fans throats way too early. I don't think fans would be this against Reigns if that had happened.
Instead, we now get Sheamus, a guy who had been losing to Sin Cara a couple weeks prior, as World Champ for 2 months (or a month, or a day, whatever, he's champ), nothing more than filler. And Reigns will have his Mania main event as champion......only last year it was a year too early.
