I only watched the first episode so far.

I only watched the first episode so far. I'll answer once I get done but it's pretty good. I agree he was wrongly convicted the first time but they are reaching here if they are saying he didn't kill her. I remember reading a lot about this but can't recall all of the details now.

This was a massive story here back in the day. I don't remember much, if any, of all these alternative theories at the time. I remember thinking dude must've just snapped after having to spend all that time for the first crime that he was wrongly convicted of.
I don't know what to think. There's 4 other potentially plausible suspects plus the kid. So I guess 5. Well 6 including the guy convicted.

Plus that case was big time emotional on all kinds of levels. I saw where Frank Kaminsky tweeted about it the other day and you should see some of the replies he was getting.

Done with episode 4.
Man they completely used the fact that the cousin was dumb to get him to confess. And his lawyer did the same!
Damn.

"Why don't you draw a picture of him (Avery) stabbing her"
And this is supposed to be his lawyer.
This series is fascinating.

Through 6 episodes. This is a damn good series.
Not sure what to believe.
Seems like every piece of evidence the prosecution had and introduced in the trial was at least tainted in some way.
If nothing else, it shows how fucked up the system is. Never ever talk to police without a lawyer.
Goddamn.

But it's just so crazy.

Right now I only see that it appears that law enforcement framed Avery.
Maybe the next 4 episodes will start with the alternate theories.
But I don't have an idea yet.

Okay I think he's probably guilty.
But there is more than enough reasonable doubt that he should not have been convicted. And it sounds like the jury was initially leaning that way. But they were worn down and just voted guilty to get home.
And Brendan definitely shouldn't have been convicted. His first lawyer fucked him. He was working with the prosecution.
Great series.

As far as who I think may have done it if not Avery, maybe Bobby Dassey. Or the ex-boyfriend or brother.

As far as the rest, I will stick with my instinct from the beginning. Follow the money. But I had a bad vibe about Avery from the beginning. Also, I don't think the kid's attorney has killed anyone, but he definitely has some skeletons. At the very least has sex with his socks on.

I was going to start watching this, but I'm not sure how I feel about being convinced by a show that a man we all know as a killer is actually innocent. I'm not saying he isn't, but I think I'd rather spend my time watching Dexter.

I'm not saying he isn't, but I think I'd rather spend my time watching Dexter. All the more reason to watch it. Personally, I think he's probably guilty. However, it's a great learning tool for anyone of any age. Don't accept what you're given at face value.

I don't even know where to begin. My main takeaway is the same as Speeps. What's going on in our criminal justice system that we are ignoring? It's possible Avery is guilty of the second crime, AND they planted a shitload of evidence. There were so many people that immediately triggered my alarms the second they uttered a word. However, that's not just from the authority side. Which is obviously how the filmmakers want you to feel. If you were to pull back a couple more layers on the Avery compound, it could be rather disturbing what you discover.
I would highly advise watching it. Especially if you live in Wisconsin.

The effect on the Avery family was sad to watch. Particularly his parents.

The effect on the Avery family was sad to watch. Particularly his parents. Absolutely. But again I wonder if they are just simple common people. They seem to be the most innocent of anyone portrayed, but I don't trust anyone here.
