Haha fuck you Corbin.
I truly hope Shane is a permanent on screen character. Fantasy booking, have him be the figurehead for a group of young guns going after the older guys.
What sucks is the US title/champion wasn't on Raw after Mania, basically pissing away all the progress Cena made with the title last year. Then the IC title is being fought over by Miz & Zack Ryder.
So much more could've been done last night. While I liked the debuts, they could've really put together something for the lull months that await.
They didn't.

Backstage News on Original Plans for Chris Jericho & Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania
According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE originally planned on having Chris Jericho face Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32. The idea would have seen Jericho turn on Ambrose at some point, playing off Jericho walking out on him and Reigns at Night of Champions 2015.
News on Shinsuke Nakamura’s NXT Finisher & Ring Name
In related news, original match plans for Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32 called for The Wyatt Family to interfere setting up a possible Lesnar vs Wyatt match down the line, but that idea was scrapped in favor of the Wyatts working with The Rock and John Cena.
As seen at WWE NXT Takeover Dallas, Shinsuke Nakamura Bomaye to defeat Sami Zayn, and The Wrestling Obsever notes the move is now called the Kinshasa It’s also being reported that Nakamura is keeping his name for now in NXT, but that could change once he makes his WWE main roster debut.

Here's the full Meltzer ratings for NXT & Mania. Only disagreement I have with it is I would've given Ambrose/Brock **1/2 (didn't like that match all that much, Ambrose should've gotten more offense or took more punishment) & I would've bumped Zayn/Nakamura up to ****3/4. Other than that, the matches themselves weren't the problem with Mania, I was fine with them, it was the finishes that sucked.
WM US Title : *1/2 10 Woman Tag: **1/4 Usos-Dudleys: *1/2 IC Title: ****1/4 Jericho-AJ: ***3/4 LoN-New Day: **1/2 Lesnar-Ambrose: ***1/4 Women's Title (It feels good to type that): **** Taker-Shane: **1/2 ARMBAR: *1/2 WWE Title: ***1/4
NXT Tag Titles: **** Aries-Corbin: **1/4 Nakamura-Zayn: ****1/2 Women's Title: ***3/4 NXT Title: ***1/2
Happy at least for the time being he's Shinsuke Nakamura. I assume they'll drop the first name when he debuts on the main roster. Heck they just called them Enzo & Cass on Monday, so I assume Nakamura will be the same. Wish they let him keep the Bomaye name though.
Melissa Santos >>>>>>> Lilian Garcia
Ricochet coming to NXT would be amazing. Like the tweet said (sorta spoiler), they did "kill off" his Lucha character so it frees him up out of that. Also he & Sydal defend the tag titles in Japan this weekend, so if they lose them to Roppongi Vice, we'll know he's finishing up.
Sort of a related note, Tessa Blanchard got a match on these last NXT tapings, Ricochet's girlfriend. Probably a pointless note, but I like she's getting a shot & I'm sure Ricochet would jump at the opportunity to be in NXT with her too.
Also I demand his name be Rick O'Shea when he debuts.

I like the reasoning behind the change from the Bomaye to Kinshasa. Bomye (which means Kill Him) was what the crowd was cheering at Ali in the Rumble in the Jungle. Which happened in Kinshasa. And it'd be crazy to change his name.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, former WWE Tag Team Champion Rene “Dupree” Goguen has filed a lawsuit against WWE over royalties and how they should be paid when content airs on the WWE Network.
The lawsuit, aiming to represent those who signed booking contracts for the WWE and other professional wrestling outfits between 1980 to the present, asserts breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment and a violation of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act, with millions of dollars in alleged damages being sought. Clinton Krislov and Brenden Leydon are the attorneys representing the plaintiffs.
The lawsuit was filed in a Connecticut Federal court yesterday, and Goguen has requested that the “booking contract” he signed in 2003, which gave WWE ownership of using his likeness and made it their intellectual property, be interpreted to include payment for “technology not yet created.” This is similar to a claim Jesse Ventura made years ago when he sued WWE for using his likeness on products that had not been created at the time that the footage was recorded, such as videotapes. Ventura won that case.
While WWE did not comment on the case attorney Jerry McDevitt told the Hollywood Reporter that the problem with this lawsuit is that Goguen signed a contract in 2011 that destroys his ability to bring these types of claims.

This doesn't sound like a very strategic response. I presume this means he either signed a "legends" deal, or a new contract in 2011. I'm certain with that type of bravado he has no claim. But what about anyone between 1980 and 2004 (for argument sake) that didn't sign a new contract with WWE? McDevitt is not stupid, nor careless enough to open them up in that way. But I will be interested to see the rebuttal.

According to documents issued by the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, the lawsuit brought on by WWE doctor Chris Amann against CM Punk and Colt Cabana has a trial date set.
The county set Monday, June 27th 2016 as the date for the trial; Amann is suing CM Punk (Phil Brooks) and Colt Cabana (Scott Colton) for comments made about him on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast in November 2014.

Just read that Maryse, Lana & Renee Young are replacing Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes & Mandy on the new season of Total Divas. They replaced my least 3 favorite with 2 of my current favorites & an old favorite.
I actually might watch this next season. I like Maryse & the addition of Lana & Renee means Rusev & Ambrose will be on this show.
Well done WWE, you got me interested in your fake ass reality show. I'll just skip the Eva Marie & Naomi parts.

I'm sure Ambrose is thrilled. The show is pretty awful. I have watched it on and off but it is so scripted its ridiculous.

Eh, whatever it takes to get Lana & Renee more TV time, in which case, she can hit the bricks, haha.
She can continue posting hot selfies though. She comes across as a hot chick that knows she's a hot chick & acts bitchy though, which kind of takes away some of her hotness IMO.

Weird.
Meltzer noted in the WON:
For the fourth year in a row, and this is quite the bizarre coincidence, the guy who lost in the second match on the main card of WrestleMania will end up in the title match at the next PPV, with Styles this year, Seth Rollins last year (although he was the champion going into the PPV), Kane in 2014 and Ryback in 2013.

Top indie star Cedric Alexander is rumored for the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series tournament that takes place this summer. Alexander is not currently signed to ROH and recently had a WWE tryout. Regarding the tournament, it's expected that EVOLVE, Progress and Revolution Pro will be announcing their qualifying matches in the next week or two.
WWE officials Canyon Ceman, Matt Bloom and William Regal attended some of the WWN Live events during WrestleMania 32 Week to scout talents. WWE had scouts at EVOLVE for Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet and Ospreay vs. Zack Sabre Jr. and one felt the match with Sabre was the best of the whole weekend. WWE also had a scout at one of the SHIMMER events and they were said to be most interested with California indie wrestler Nicole Savoy.
WWE officials are interested in several Lucha Underground talents and it was speculated by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they may pitch contracts to some of those talents due to the long break between seasons. WWE reportedly wants around 5 Mexican talents for the Global Series Cruiserweight tournament, which tapes right after the current season of Lucha Underground ends.

I liked his pairing with Veda, but wish they'd do more with them. His ROH stuff gets lost in the shuffle, if that makes any sense.
He also hasn't been in PWG much anymore. He was in 2014, but not much recently. Wonder why he isn't being pushed in ROH? He is young though, so there's plenty of time.
Only problem with this Global CW series will be that some of these major names will lose in the 1st round & people (ie myself) will be pissed.

Yeah I think he gets put in that ACH, Rich Swann, AR Fox, Ricochet grouping of flashy high flyers, but I don't think he should. His style is different. He needs to be utilized differently.
Veda I like as a character more than a wrestler. Not that she's bad or anything, I just prefer her as a manager/mouthpiece.

It looks like we could get Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman vs. Sheamus, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio for the May 1st WWE Payback pay-per-view. The Wyatt Family is featured in promotional material for Payback and after attacking The League of Nations last week, it looks like the feud will be continuing on tonight’s RAW from Los Angeles.
WWE posted this teaser:
After laying out their so-called “weakest link,” King Barrett, The League of Nations suffered an even worse beatdown courtesy of The Wyatt Family, who made short work of Sheamus, Rusev and Alberto Del Rio in a startling show of force on Raw. Following that attack, are Bray Wyatt and his flock poised to engulf the international trio? Wyatt is The Eater of Worlds, after all …
Regardless, it’s doubtful that even the presence of Raw guest star Dr. Phil will be able to help either of these factions find peace with one another this Monday night. WWE Universe, brace yourselves.

So the guys who got beat up by Foley, Austin & HBK are going to fight the guys who got beat up by The Rock & Cena. Why are we supposed to care again? And I could give a flying fuck about Dr. Phil & his stupid sons band (who apparently is going to play on Raw tonight, big bump in the ratings that'll be).
This Raw is going to be brutal.
