I think we should focus less on the concept and goals of the board...and just let the board be a board. It'll develop into whatever it will be organically. I disagree. That was exactly what happened on the other board, and what "organically happened" was a shitfest. That's why I'm concerned about just bringing all the same folks from there to here. If this board is going to succeed with the same group of folks, admins need to lay down the law early. |

Not knowing what is and isn't permissible was not. |

KS, I was joking about the NotNas login. You guys are really trying to run a tight ship over here, I see. I've been banned . Just wanted to expound on this. Obviously Camps isn't banned as he posted this and other posts, so I'm not sure what that's all about. The "notnas" account was from somewhere like Middletown, New Jersey or something like that. Which further complicates Camps' claim that he created that account. We also had a "bigfan2" account which tried to sign up, and that was from somewhere in Missouri. Both of those were banned as I didn't think Nas and/or bigfan would appreciate those accounts being active here. |

This is just an observation. If you don't care what I think, that's fine. Trying to eliminate opinions or encouraging like-mindedness is a recipe for disaster. Don't ban people who occasionally mock Dan Bernstein or talk about politics. It won't work in the long run. Again, maybe you don't care what I think, and that's fine. It's just honest feedback.

It was never moderated in a consistent manner, let alone "tightly" or "loosely" day-in and day-out. I have numerous examples of how I, personally, was treated unfairly. I've been on other sites that have a strong no politics stance and they have done just fine for themselves. The rules were clear, established early and enforced. No one ever bitched about it as they were free to join about a billion existing politics boards to discuss until their typing fingers fell off.

I never really had any problem at all with anything there or here so far. Never bothered me what the subject was. I only got aggravated when the threads always devolved into the same old 2 or 3 things. Forums need people to stay on subject.  |
