This past episode was fantastic. The fewer guys that remain, the better the matches get & they get LOTS of time now.
Metalik vs Tozawa was very good. Match went nearly 20 min and was really entertaining the whole way. Metalik kicking out of the German suplex, the same way Tozawa beat his 1st 2 opponents was good & Metalik eliminates Tozawa with his Metalik Driver to advance. Sad Tozawa is gone, but Metalik really impressed me.
Ibushi vs Kendrick. Fucking wow. The story told by Daniel Bryan over the course of Kendrick's matches, culminating in this moment was masterful, because it led us to the moment of Bryan & Kendrick hugging after his loss to take us off the air. If you know the full backstory between the two, it's incredibly emotional. Ibushi is absolutely incredible, there's really nothing more to say about him. Truly hope he gets signed (or wants to be signed) after this, but his desire to work all over the world might hamper that from happening. Such a great match & I hope this isn't the end of Kendrick in the WWE ring. With rosters thin on both brands, Kendrick would be great for the CW Division.
Next week... Zack Sabre Jr. vs Noam Dar TJ Perkins vs Rich Swann

Watching live tonight. Sabre vs Dar kicks things off and Sabre, my God, the way he twists & folds people up in his submissions is just incredible. Mostly mat based (what else did you expect) in this one, with a few high spots. Dar seems to get cocky at times & Sabre just recovers & beats Dar down. Dar had worked over the leg of Sabre, so when Sabre went for the penalty kick, he almost buckled & Bryan pointed that out, which is great. The amount of counters these two did were fantastic as well. Dar just did a double stomp the THIGH of Sabre! The amount of accuracy to make sure you don't double stomp the guy in the junk is impressive!
Holy fuck, Sabre locked in a Rings of Saturn, but instead of hooking his arm around, he wrapped his leg around & pulled back even more. Masterfully, commentary said because Sabre's arm was hurting in the match, he had to use his leg to lock in the submission.
I haven't been overly impressed with Noam Dar this whole tournament, but this was his strongest showing by a mile.
If you like mat based wrestling, this one was awesome. TJ Perkins vs Rich Swann is up next to determine who moves on to the final 4!

Loved the start of TJP/Swann. Both dudes exchanged holds, then TJP did the dab (I feel like a douche for even typing that) to showboat. They locked up again & Swann then mocked TJP. Then both started just wailing on each other, trading punches, it was an awesome way to start.
Another match where one guy worked over the others knee, but it was told in a different way. Sabre's leg was hurt because Dar worked over it. Swann hurt his leg because he missed a moonsault to the floor & messed his leg up, leading to TJP focusing on it most of the match & also Swann couldn't get the height he usually gets on his moves, which takes away a lot of his offense. Bryan pointing out how Swann is looking slow because of the damage done. Storytelling was great.
TJP wins again with his kneebar advancing to the semis. Excellent match. Crowd booed TJP winning (more so I think for Swann losing), but fuck them, this match was great and both dudes put on a hell of a match.

Next week is a LIVE 2 HOUR SHOW!! The semis & the finals will be taking place! Gran Metalik vs Zack Sabre Jr Kota Ibushi vs TJ Perkins
I'm sure matches with eliminated guys will be happening, but a part of me sort of wants the 1st hour be semi finals then the final be a 60 minute draw! Trips comes out and says Sudden Death with the winner not only getting the CWC trophy, but also becomes the CW Champion!
Fantasy booking, but whatever, next week should be AWESOME! WATCH IT LIVE!!!

I have too many entertainment options v time available. Kills me to have missed these matches. Maybe this weekend. Not sure how much you've missed, but if you haven't watched last weeks episode with Kendrick/Ibushi and Tozawa/Metalik, I strongly suggest getting caught up on that episode. That could be the best 1 hour of wrestling TV I've seen in a very long time.
This week was great too. So strongly suggest getting caught up before next week. Let me know what you think of them. I've been enjoying recapping these shows since the start. I know scorejr posted about the Cedric/Ibushi match, but I want to hear what others are thinking of this thing!
This is so much better than Raw, SD & honestly with the exception of Takeover, better than NXT as well. And it's only an hour, which is even better.

I feel like they just wanna counter the g1. But for wwe programming this is the best in ring I've ever seen.

I'm picking Metalik over Ibushi in the finals.
Ibushi as far as I know, hasn't signed a contract, so they definitely wouldn't have a non contracted wrestler win this whole thing. Sabre hasn't signed either.
Sort of want Perkins to win, since he can cut promos on Raw, but sticking with Metalik.
This should be AWESOME!

HUGE Metalik chants.
He seems to me the crowd favorite in this match.

Good call randomone
Metalik Driver for the win.
Sabre looked a bit off with some his submission attempts.

I liked the match, but it just seemed their styles didn't mesh as well as I hoped.
Sabre is still, in my opinion, the best pure wrestler in the world. However, it makes total sense why they went with Metalik, who is also awesome.
This Ibushi/TJP match should be incredible.

I really wish this was for the actual CW title & not just the trophy. How are they going to decide the 1st champ? Another tournament? Wouldn't seem right.
I hope Trips comes out & declares the main event also for the CW title as well. It'd make more sense to start the CW division on Monday with an actual champion already.

Pele Kick countered into a knee bar?!?!?!? Daniel Bryan going nuts & I don't blame him!
TJP KICKS OUT OF THE POWERBOMB!!! The same move that's won Ibushi all his matches up to this point!
Amazing storytelling.

This beats the shit out of being a member of The Revolution with Storm & Abyss!
I also liked Meltzer's tweet before this match, he said "This is cool, we find out right before our eyes right now if Ibushi really did or didn't sign."
Bummed he didn't sign, but damn, hell of a run while it lasted. TJP looked fantastic too!

This fucking crowd can suck a bag of dicks. Booed TJP when he beat Rich Swann, now booing him after this match. I get it's because they wanted Ibushi to win, but c'mon.
Fuck this ungrateful crowd.
Don't think I haven't noticed that Squared Circle dicknose in the front row.

Sasha, Kalisto, Rich Swann, Jack Gallagher & Bayley all shown front row.
Dar & Cedric vs Gargano & Ciampa up next.
Wonder if we get a heel turn by Ciampa? I'd love a feud heading into the start of a new division Monday.
