I must say, live PBP last night from Jackref was outstanding. He even kept me shielded from the Sting stuff. I hate hearing about stuff like Billy Gunn. It's one thing to have a problem. But when you're showing up in front of 1,350 fans pilled up, it's death watch time. Why?

I don't know where else to put this, but I was looking at the future PPV list for WWE and it pisses me off. Philly is getting the Runble again? From just 3 years ago? Why? They shit on the ppv back then. They're a tough ass crowd if one of the old school ecw or indie guys don't win. Puzzling they are going right back to them so soon.
Which brings me to my next problem, How in the hell has Chicago never hosted a Royal Rumble? For all the accolads we get from all the wrestlers, how the hell have they given us that ppv yet? Its actually the only WWE event left I want to go to. I just don't get it.
Also, Chicago isn't scheduled for a ppv right now. We're going to get shit on with something like Payback again. Fucking lame.

Did some more research here. The last time we got a major 4 ppv was 2006. The fuck is that about?
Here's the thing, they love giving Chicago a smaller PPV because they know the market is so loyal that they can sell out anything. If they were to do "Roadblock" in Phoenix that may not sell out. I get it. With that said, Brooklyn, LA, San Antonio, Philly keep getting the major 4 - hell Indy and and St. Louis has as well.

Anything other than a house show twice a year or a TV taping once every 4-5 years.
We had 1 WCW PPV in 97, The Great American Bash. The only PPV I've ever been to in my life. That definitely needs to change.

That's really sad. He was on Lucha Underground recently, that was the last I had seen him. I only really knew of his work with Chavo Jr in the 2004 run & he was great then. Such a funny/solid heel to have by his side. Yeah they made him CW champ, but this was when the title wasn't taken seriously at all (Jacqueline held the title for God sake). I know his problems are what got him released, but he was still really entertaining.
All best friends & dislike of Meltzer aside, on the current ep of WOR, Dave talks for the 1st 30 minutes about past Chavo Sr. stories. He's had some amazing stories, so give it a listen if you have the chance. He talked about a feud he had with Terry Funk once & how Terry cut arguably the most racist promo on him ever. Pretty interesting stuff. Dave said he was the 2nd best Guerrero wrestler in the family.

Yeah, 3 posts in the same thread in about 30 minutes. But this one is totally worth it.
Rumor going around is that Mick Foley will be finishing up at Raw GM after Mania. Who will replace him? Kurt Angle.
I really hope it's true, it's true. That would honestly be the best thing to happen to Raw.

I really hope it's true, it's true. That would honestly be the best thing to happen to Raw. If true, we get Kurt and Stephanie segments. Lock in step or two foes, they always had great chemistry. I'd be completely fine with this if they let Kurt do his thing.

I remember that well. DDP and Randy Savage fought all over the arena. Other than that, I think the ppv might have been the drizzling shits.

Going to it as a kid, I thought it was the best thing in the world, 97 WCW, that was the best time ever. I met DDP & Kimberly twice during that time when they promoted the event.......then you look at the card, yeesh. I don't even have to look up the card, I remember it fondly.
Ultimo Dragon vs Psicosis (very good) Harlem Heat vs Steiners (not that good) Konnan vs Hugh Morrus (awful) Glacier vs Wrath (pretty bad) Madusa vs Akira Hokuto (Madusa's last match for 2 years) Meng vs Benoit (not as good as you'd think) Flair & Piper vs Nash & Hall (bad, although it was my only time ever seeing Piper) Mongo vs Kevin Greene (you be the judge, although, looking back, we actually got to see this match, haha) DDP vs Savage (fucking brutal in the best way possible, very entertaining)

Let's face it, they barely even tried their entire WCW run. Now now. Easy there Meltz. Haha, I remember when WWE 24/7 had stuff OnDemand, I'd tape all the Raws & Nitros to just have them in my collection (this was pre-Network), The Outsiders (Nash more than Hall honestly) most of the time were either phoning it in or were just terrible. Hall though would have those random Nitro matches where he'd work with guys like Jericho where they'd put together a pretty darn good little match, but it didn't happen that much unfortunately.
However, WCW was so popular that no matter what they did, the crowd went crazy, so they didn't need to, I understand that, but looking back on it, they weren't good matches at all. On the microphone, promos, those were phenomenal, there's no denying that. I'm talking strictly in ring.
Name me some really good Nash & Hall matches (mainly more Nash than Hall). I'll give you the 1st 6 months of their run in WCW, they were trying then. Aside from that, few & far between were there good matches.

Hall and Nash had solid feuds against the Steiners early in their run.
Heck the matches against Meng and Barbarian weren't bad either.

The BATB match with Luger/Sting/Savage, the Halloween Havoc match with Harlem Heat & then I remember one match with the Steiners I enjoyed I think from a Nitro. But those 1st two matches were from their 1st 6 months.
Meng & Barbarian match from Starrcade 96 I remember sucking (and I rewatched Starrcade around a year or so ago), might have to watch it again though.
There was a Hall & Pac match against the Steiners I enjoyed from Nitro, but again, that was one of the times Nash was "hurt". So it doesn't count for what I'm talking about here.

Ok, first 6 months aside. No order. From memory. Can't honestly tell you if it still holds up. At the time I didn't feel like he was phoning it in.
Nash Vs Goldberg - Starrcade?
Nash vs DDP - Slamboree..99?
Nash vs Rey Mysterio Jr...Nitro I think?
Nash and Hall vs Flair and Benoit. Nitro maybe?
I also feel like he had a series of decent matches with Booker T.
With all that said, I'm not the biggest Nash fan but let's not say he mailed it in after 6 months in WCW.

I was psyched every Monday night. But that's the key, that was in 97-00, re-watching it, it doesn't hold up, at least to me. His matches are pretty damn bad. So I'm 100% fine if you guys think he didn't mail it in, but I honestly think your opinions will change if you re-watch. I'm sticking to my guns on this though. You will not sway me, sir! I don't know what it is, I just thought his in ring work was horrible. Again, not all the time, just 95% of it. Mic work, friggin great though. He also came across as one of the coolest motherfuckers in wrestling. I'll give him that.

She had technically been on the main roster since 2008. According to ProFightDB, she won ONE singles match in 2011 over Layla by DQ. She was on the winning end of about 4 or 5 of those random clusterfuck womens matches that went like 45 seconds. Her year with the most wins was 2009 when she won 3 tag team matches. She lost every other match in her WWE run.
She's a mom now, good for her, but she beat JTG's record for being employed the longest & never had done anything.

So I'll start with Nash's 99 title run because I remember buying these all on VHS from Blockbuster (I miss those) & watched them a few years ago (pre-Network) for the nostalgia kick (like 1 match per show was good). I bought Slamboree, GAB, BATB & Road Wild all from 99. I'll go through the Nash run.
Nash/DDP was long, boring, felt like slow motion. Savage ran down & caused a DQ, then Bischoff restarted the match (something he already did in another match). 1st thing they do post restart (crowd is woke up now) is trade sleeper holds. Brought the crowd out of it. DDP ended up hitting himself with a chair & Nash hit a terrifying looking powerbomb for the win. It was your typical clusterfuck WCW ending, which again, in 1999, I loved, but rewatching (it's on Dailymotion, I watched to get the exact sequence right, haha) it doesn't hold up for crap.
GAB Savage vs Nash. This point Savage gave up too, he was so jacked he was borderline immobile. So him & Nash together had an awful match. Sid interfered at the end, leading to the Bash at the Beach (remember the running over Nash with a hummer angle?) where Savage & Sid beat Sting & Nash for the World Title. Guess how that was? Hogan vs Nash was at Road Wild & it's as bad as it sounds. These are all online, watch if you want.
Goldberg/Nash I didn't honestly think was all that bad. There was also the tag match where Rey lost his mask that I didn't think was terrible either. (I don't remember Flair/Benoit vs Hall/Nash) Long explanation I know, but again, not saying EVERY match was bad, but damn near all of them were.

And I'm not gonna lie, I don't remember much about Nash/Booker. I just remember WCW in 2000, pretty much everyone aside from Booker had given up at that point, so I won't single Nash out in that case.
Though I do remember him teaming with DDP to face like young guys like O'Haire, Jindrak, Stasiak, Palumbo, that group of guys & actually enjoying that team.
So essentially he bookended his WCW run with trying IMO. With a little trying sprinkled in here & there, haha.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned there were big plans for the Emmalina character … but after multiple rehearsals, producers realized she couldn’t pull off what they were looking to accomplish.
Sources tell us Emmalina was intended to be a throwback to characters like Sable and The Kat — however, delays were caused after officials felt like she wasn’t committing enough to the role and ultimately they decided to just let Emma be evil again.
We’re told producers are still big fans of the character’s concept though — which is why they held hope it would work out — so it’s always possible that they’ll hold onto it for another female in the future. In case you missed it, the wrestler re-appeared on Raw last night and said her makeover was complete … and she’ll now be undergoing a makeover back to Emma. Guess we’ll always have the vignette memories.
Um, what were they hoping Emma to do? Post hotter IG pics? I argue they were pretty darn hot. The fuck are they looking for with this character? Plus, if it wasn't going to work, why have her go out there & look like a joke? Not fair to the talent in that regard. Whatever, I just hope she's back on TV soon. There was nothing wrong with Evil Emma in the first place. Dana is better off with her too.

That sounds pretty fucking stupid.
You wanted he to be The Kat? The fuck?
Emma is hot as fuck and can work. Let her be Emma. Give the lame Diva shit to Eva Marie or Lana.

If this was the Attitude Era & they wanted her to be The Kat, then I'm all for it! Kat got naked a bunch, haha. What was Sable's big line when she first became heel? Something like women who want to be me & men who come to see me? That line would be perfect for someone like Lana, who has been wrestling on NXT house shows, so I assume they haven't given up on her in the ring yet.
Loved the bikini shots of Emma for the build up, but if that's what they had in mind, Emma might've dodged a bullet.

March 6 is Raw at Allstate Arena. Anyone going? May God have mercy on your soul. Donspiracy and myself went last year to Raw and it's the longest 3 hours of your life. We had the New Day vs Y2AJ match ans that was the only highlight of the show. Would never do that again.
