I absolutely love Davari's response to Bradshaw.
Ex-WWE stars Ken Anderson and Shawn Daivari appeared on the Pancakes and Powerslams podcast, where they talked about The Undertaker and shared stories about JBL being a bully.
How to stop JBL’s bullying backstage:
Anderson: “I read something where he told Justin Roberts to go kill himself, everyday. He would say stuff like that, but the minute somebody would fire back at him, or just no-sell it, [they’ll] be fine. He wouldn’t keep hammering… I’m not saying that his way is right, but people are really, really sensitive nowadays for that reason.”
Daivari: “Whenever I hear about John being a bully to whoever, and the specific names that come out, it’s because the person he was quote-unquote bullying was trying so hard to get over with him. Like, dude, not everybody is gonna like you. Maybe [John] doesn’t like you, you don’t have to prove a point and defend [yourself]. If he says you’re a dork and he hates you, you don’t have to prove to him that you’re not a dork and he should like you. Just let it go.”
Anderson shares a time where both Edge and John Morrison stood up to JBL:
“Paul Heyman told me this story about how JBL was needling Edge on a bus, overseas. Edge was pretty new to the company, and [JBL kept needling him]. JBL had a beer in his hand, Edge just stood up, and swatted the beer out of his hand, and said ‘Let’s go right now. I’m sick of it.’ From that point on, JBL said ‘Oh calm down, sweetheart.’ Everything was smoothed over, and he didn’t mess with him again.
“[John Morrison] stood up to him one night. JBL didn’t like the way him and Miz had sold at the end of their match. They hadn’t celebrated enough. [JBL was getting on him], and Johnny basically just snapped on him, and told him to mind his own business. They almost went at it.”
Daivari shares a story when he stood up to JBL:
“John came [backstage] and just picked me as his target. A bunch of people weren’t watching [his main event match from backstage], and he goes, ‘Shawn Daivari doesn’t need to watch the main event! Shawn Daivari knows everything about everything in wrestling! Shawn doesn’t have to watch the main event! He’s good, he’s got it!’ And I said, ‘No. You’ve been doing the same match 17 nights in a row. I can call every single move you did, I can tell you exactly what happened, I can tell you what heat you did to the crowd to get them involved, I’ve seen it! No, I don’t need to watch it tonight!’”
If WrestleMania 33 was The Undertaker’s Final Match:
Daivari: “No, I don’t think this is it for him. I think this is it for him as far as an expectation to work every WrestleMania, but I don’t think that was his last match… I know the relationship between [Undertaker] and Vince [McMahon], and I think if Vince calls him and says, ‘Hey, I want you to have a match,’ I don’t know if Undertaker is gonna say no, just because [he’s loyal].”
Anderson: “I’ll go on record by saying that was his last match. That’s the way he wanted to go out. Like, he’s just super old school. There’s a certain code, a time-honored tradition that when you have your last match, you go out looking at the lights. And he did that, and the fact that he took the gloves off, and took the hat off, and left everything in the center of the ring, I felt like that was him saying, ‘That’s it. I’m out.’ If that’s the case, I think it’s fantastic.”

Meltzer did an interview with Justin Roberts & they covered a bunch of stuff (most of what we've heard already in terms of JBL being a piece of shit) but interesting notes to when he was the host at house shows, Vince didn't want him to get the crowd excited to start the show because "the crowd only has so many pops in them". He wanted him to go out & just say "Your opening contest is scheduled for one fall".
When people like The Rock, John Cena, Taker, etc are introduced, he shouldn't go over the top because Vince felt he was trying to put himself over instead of the talent & he got chewed out for it.
He said the top people who run the company live in a bubble & surround themselves with people who tell them the things they want to hear (which we knew & isn't surprising). Also they have certain news outlets report on them because they know they'll always be painted in a good light (cough...ESPN...cough).
Justin seems like a legit good dude who was a giant wrestling fan who got to live out his dream of working for WWE, whether certain people were giant pieces of shit or not.

Matt Hardy changed his twitter name from BROKEN Matt to Matt Hardy v1. Dammit McDevitt. I need our bulldog. Put down the "silence Mauro" paperwork and find some dirt on Anthem. Fuck, the other guy is a Jarrett. You know something weird is going on with him!

Listening to Jeff Hardy on Colt Cabana's podcast this past week, he said that the Hardys themselves paid for everything in the whole Deletion triology. I'm sure TNA provided cameras (or rented them at Rent-A-Center) but Hardys did everything else.
TNA are doing this solely to be dicks. Yeah their programming is what first got over the Broken gimmick on TV, but Matt & Jeff went out and made it bigger after TNA fucked up signing them (like they do everyone else).
However, it's amazing that all WWE can come up with is going back to V1 instead of coming up with a different take on it. I don't want Matt Facts, I want Vanguard 1. I don't want their old 1999 theme music, I want "I'll Fade Away & Classify Myself As Obsolete...........OBSOLETE!!"
Fuck TNA & Fuck WWE for being lazy and more preoccupied with keeping Mauro quiet.

Changed his name again. This time it's MH #BROKENBrilliance. Standing up to a bully isn't difficult. It can be for many, but the real fear is loss. What if I lose this spot in the company? What if I lose my nest egg fighting a lawsuit? What if I get knocked out by the bully? "I spent my whole life trying to get to this point. What if I lose?" As an idealist that essentially lost their job telling certain people their role in society sucks, it's not easy. But I'd like to think you win in the long run. If you're Jeff Jarrett, there isn't a more wrong route to go when trying to rebuild a brand.

Yeah it sucks, but at least they weren't in a major feud yet. The tag title focus can stay on the Hardys/CesaroSheamus/Club/EnzoCass for a while longer. Have Dawson cut promos the entire time, running down the division. Say Dash got hurt, don't hide it, but say when he's back they'll back up everything Dawson has been saying & be Top Guys.
It's a shame, but hopefully they don't just forget about them & have them do nothing in those 8 weeks.

That does suck but keep them involved. Have them interfere and cost teams matches and let Dawson get physical whilst hiding Dash in plain sight.

WWE is reportedly planning on using the "Broken" character for Matt Hardy. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is working on a deal with Impact Wrestling to use the character on television, which has yet to be finalized.
As noted, there have been legal issues with Matt Hardy using the "Broken" character with Impact Wrestling claiming ownership of the gimmick. Impact Wrestling recently added a trademark symbol (™) to videos on their YouTube channel containing references to the 'Broken' gimmick, including 'Broken Matt', 'Brother Nero' and 'Broken Brilliance'. They also sent a cease and desist letter last month to pay-per-view providers airing the ROH 15th Anniversary pay-per-view regarding the intellectual property of the gimmick, which resulted in the Hardys not using most of the mannerisms associated with those characters on the show.
Hardy has been using some of the mannerisms of the "Broken" character on television since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 33 earlier this month. He has also been switching his Twitter description, using "#BROKEN", "#Version1" and "#Mattitude."
Have Bray Wyatt be the one to break Matt.

Just listened to the Observer and they were talking about how they could keep the titles on Matt & Jeff until they get this shit worked out with TNA, then have them lose the titles & Matt start getting "Broken" again. Putting Broken Matt with Bray Wyatt would be WONDERFUL.
That really sucks about Rosey. While I did like 3 Minute Warning (especially in the start of their run), his pairing with Hurricane I liked more & it happened around the perfect time. Comedy duo, but were a good team at the same time.

According to a new press release issued by WWE, the company has hired Sheetesh Srivastava as Vice President and General Manager, WWE India. Srivastava will lead WWE’s strategic business initiatives and day-to-day operations in India and work with partners across all of WWE’s lines of business, including television, live events, marketing, sponsorship, new media, licensing and merchandising. Srivastava, an executive with over 18 years of experience in driving strategic business growth in domestic and international markets, will report to Ed Wells, WWE Executive Vice President, International.
“India is key to the global growth of WWE, and we are confident Sheetesh will successfully help develop our brand and business in this critically important country,” said Wells. “WWE is committed to expanding its presence in India, and we are pleased to welcome Sheetesh to further our efforts in the market.”
It was noted that India represents WWE’s single largest regional contribution to the brand’s social media community of 750 million followers globally.
Jinder Mahal becoming the new #1 contender to the WWE Title, and aligning himself with The Bollywood Boyz, now known in WWE as The Singh Brothers, comes at a time when WWEShop.com recently expanded into India, with the likelihood that Mahal and Singh Brothers merchandise will soon be available via the WWE India Shop website. With India being a major market for WWE, the timing of Mahal becoming #1 contender to the WWE Title and WWE’s shop expansion into India might not be merely coincidence.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com provided some more information on Mauro Ranallo's falling out with WWE. It appears that the first issue with Mauro Ranallo was back when Ranallo did commentary with Jerry Lawler. Lawler had started calling Ranallo "M.R." in the same fashion that Lawler would call Jim Ross "J.R." However, Meltzer noted that it was likely an inside rib since the term "M.R." was used as an offensive slur that stood for "mental retard" during the period that Vince McMahon and Lawler were growing up.
Meltzer also noted that Ranallo was told he could be himself on commentary at first, but as time went on, Vince Mcmahon wanted Ranallo to act more like Michael Cole. McMahon was said to be frustrated with Ranallo's announcing style and Tom Phillips becoming the 4th member of the announcing team was the first public sign of it.
Because Ranallo was different, Meltzer described the situation in WWE as being like high school with Ranallo being seen as the "weird kid" and being made the butt of jokes. Apparently the hazing/ribbing towards Ranallo came from far more people than just JBL. With people having different interpretations of the situation, most feel that JBL has been made a scapegoat for the people that run the company and encourage the behavior such as Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn.
One wrestler told Meltzer, "He (Layfield) f***ed with lots of new guys simply because he could. I don't know if JBL is tough, but all these guys were scared to stand up to him in fear of getting fired."
As previously noted, WWE is in negotiations with Ranallo's representatives about working out a settlement for the remainder of his contract.

I don't doubt a lot of that but even though I'm not quite as old as Vince & Lawler, I have never in my life heard anybody use the term "M.R." the way it's suggested here. Not saying that's not possible just questioning the likelihood. Seems like a bit of a stretch.......even for the E.

I could 100% see it being Mauro being sensitive, but I could 100% see Vince telling Lawler "CALL HIM M.R. PAL" and Vince, Hunter, and Dunn having a grand inside joke.

Agreed it seems like a stretch, but then again I wouldn't doubt it one bit if that's a way Vince would have a little inside joke at the expense of someone else. Vince is an asshole, so I wouldn't put it past him.
While I'll miss Mauro calling Smackdown, this bullshit isn't worth the hassle for him to go through & having to be stuck in that environment. He has a lot of other places he can (and has already, he's called the Rizin fights a few days ago) go and not deal with this.

There's really no point in signing Mauro unless it's to be himself and call matches as sport.
If you don't want that, don't hire him.
Stunning how out of touch Vince and Dunn are.
Shit he should've went to NXT and called the action there. I bet he would be huge.

Swoggle comments on hiding under the ring while working for WWE:
When it comes to being under the ring, I’d either go under before the doors opened or would get snuck under in the dark while a video package played on the screen. There were times when I was underneath for six-plus hours because it wouldn’t work out to sneak me under later in the show. I’d get dressed under there, have plenty of waters, and would normally bring my phone or PSP. Thankfully, I never had a bathroom emergency under the ring.
Which WWE storyline would Swoggle like to do over?
I would love to do the whole “Anonymous General Manager” storyline again. The way it was supposed to turn out was that I was supposed to be this almost mob-boss style character with this Napoleon complex, throwing his power around while running Raw. Obviously things didn’t work out that way.

Mauro Ranallo, a commentator on the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) program SmackDown Live , has left the company.
In a statement to Newsweek , Ranallo also denied recent reports that his departure was due to growing animosity with his on-air broadcast partner John “Bradshaw” Layfield, who has been accused by wrestling media outlets and friends of Ranallo of being openly hostile to the play-by-play announcer.
“WWE and I have mutually agreed to part ways. It has nothing to do with JBL,” Ranallo told Newsweek by email. A WWE spokesperson confirmed Ranallo’s exit and said he will remain under contract through August 12.
The 47-year-old—a veteran of mixed martial arts and boxing commentary who joined WWE in December 2015—has not been seen on the USA Network show since the March 7 broadcast and was also absent from WrestleMania, WWE’s equivalent of the Super Bowl, on April 2.
On March 29, Ranallo, who has been open in the past about suffering from bipolar disorder and depression, sent a tweet—since deleted—indicating he was battling ill health.
Professional wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported in the April 3 issue of his Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ranallo’s sudden hiatus was at least in part triggered by backstage hostilities with Layfield, a retired wrestler who has come under scrutiny by former employees, including ring announcer Justin Roberts, in the past for his alleged hazing of WWE talent.
Layfield spoke heatedly about Ranallo on the March 13 episode of Bring It to the Table, a panel show that airs on WWE’s over-the-top streaming service, WWE Network. Layfield scolded Ranallo for acknowledging the results of a fan-voted poll naming him announcer of the year in 2016. Ranallo subsequently missed the March 14 episode of SmackDown Live , stoking internet chatter that Layfield’s remarks were responsible for his absence. In a statement to Newsweek, Layfield said he was just playing up his character as a bad guy.
Speculation about Layfield’s involvement in the drama led to angry WWE fans tweeting, and trending, #FireJBL. Fans attending the April 11 taping of SmackDown Live in Boston also disrupted the show with a loud “Fire Bradshaw” chant. Past stories of Layfield allegedly hazing WWE performers were also recirculated on Reddit and other websites.
“Admittedly, I took part in locker room pranks that existed within the industry years ago,” Layfield told Newsweek in a statement. “WWE addressed my behavior and I responded accordingly, yet my past is being brought up because of recent unfounded rumors. I apologize if anything I said playing ‘the bad guy’ on a TV show was misconstrued.”
In a statement to Newsweek , a WWE spokesperson said: “As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive environment, in April 2011, WWE launched our anti-bullying campaign, Be a STAR, which encourages young people to treat each other with tolerance and respect.
“As a publicly traded company, that mantra carries forward in our corporate culture. As such, we fully investigate any allegations of inappropriate behavior including the recent alleged situation with John Layfield (aka JBL), despite no formal complaint having been submitted.”
Since Ranallo’s final WWE appearance on March 7, the animated announcer returned to the commentary booth for Japanese mixed martial arts promotion Rizin Fighting Federation on April 16. He has also tweeted he will one day call the action for a wrestling event again. SmackDown Live , meanwhile, will now be anchored by WWE announcers Tom Phillips, Layfield and Byron Saxton.
1. Ok, so they've gotten Mauro to say it wasn't JBL's fault. Whatever, Mauro deserves so much better than this crap. 2. Fuck JBL. Trying to get someone to steal a dude's passport so he can't get back in the country or telling someone you hope they kill themselves isn't a prank, it's a piece of shit move. This isn't about being a "bad guy on TV" it's about Bradshaw being a piece of shit himself. WWE didn't do dick about his behavior, if anything it rewarded him for it because Vince loves that he does it as he's "weeding out the weak" which is horse shit. 3. The WWE comment was to promote their anti-bullying campaign, which seems to only matter when cameras are around or they can post pictures showing they do stuff on social media. But yeah, this company does no wrong at all, right? I mean, they couldn't, they have the whole Be-a-STAR campaign!
