I think it's telling that we all are falling off at the same time. I don't even miss it.

I think you people are nuts. I really do.
1. You had a first time match-up of Miz & Balor that went over 11 minutes. 2. Alexa & Mickie wasn't the greatest thing ever but not too shabby for being over 9 MINUTES. 3. Braun/Kalisto whatever (I mean I suppose they make Kalisto look strong by being so willing to take on Braun) but the Reigns/Braun brutality was just terrific. I think if you hate that you're having an awfully bad day. 4. Cesaro/Sheamus ended up looking really strong in the tag team ranks plus the Golden Truth tease was pretty good. (I'd rather have Cesaro as a singles stud but him & Sheamus looking strong isn't exactly a terrible thing) Plus if you're a tag team guy they gave you nearly 30 minutes of decent tag team action. 5. Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe These two went 15 minutes and it was brutal and wonderful. If you didn't like that you hate kittens. 6. Perkins/Gallagher wasn't much but Neville vs Cole on the mic was terrific. 7. Sasha/Alicia didn't do a ton for me but they have hot asses. 8. Bray/Ambrose was pretty solid and at least Bray didn't lose.
I just can't hate on that.

That sounds not bad.
I just don't care about any of it. At least not enough to go out of my way to watch it.

I think it has less to do with the actual in ring product & more to do with what it actually accomplishes, which is next to nothing. There are zero storylines on Raw (and SD honestly) that make me go "man, I can't wait to watch this week!"
Raw was filled with WRESTLING, which is a great thing, I mean the first match was longer than 3 out of the 4 matches on Smackdown COMBINED. That said, while it's filled with wrestling, it's the same shit. While you can absolutely say it's been that way for years (I wouldn't argue that), it's just really kicking in for me now.

I think this is it in a nutshell. There is so much content from Raw and Smackdown that nothing means anything anymore and you can't build to a match. 5 hours of programming a week and 2 Network Specials a month is just too much. I know it's not a recent phenomenon, but for some reason I've become worn out by it. NXT works because it's 1 hour a week with 4-5 specials a year. It allows things the chance to breathe. I hope it gets better when Vince is gone and Hunter is in charge. Who knows though.

Maybe that's some of the difference between me and you guys. I don't watch NXT. I don't watch the Network. I don't watch New Japan (though I pay for it ). I don't watch PWG, Lucha, Impact, Evolve, Shimmer, Glimmer, Slimmer or anything else other than ROH, Raw, Smackdown & WWE PPV's. So I'm not burned out in the least. Also, and I think this is huge, I watch all those shows on DVR so even Raw is far from a chore.

- Honestly PWG doesn't have many storylines, it's just crazy wrestling & that fills that void. (that I stock up on DVDs every November and am good for the year) - New Japan has storylines & it all culminates incredibly well. You can 85% of the time count on them having awesome wrestling. - Lucha got too ridiculous for me to keep up with last season. - Impact blows. We've covered this. - I only watch Evolve & Shimmer online every so often, but it consistently entertains me from what I do get to watch.
I guess the reason I like watching so many other promotions is that quite simply, it's not WWE. I need a break from them at times. It's exhausting because it's the same stuff over & over. Like Peeps said, there's so much content they need to fill EACH WEEK, that they really need something to keep you interested, but they haven't.
Especially now that we've entered the post-Mania lull.

I just talked to KS Jr and if you really think about it, the entirety of the Raw show did in fact have storyline continuity. In abundance in fact.

That's what I can't understand. I did. I liked it alot. Storyline continuity AND even more importantly good to very great matches/showdowns with lots of physicality and some violence. From all the big names that everybody has clamored for, for years.

Now you're going headline. Haha.
I think this COULD be a healthy debate. When Nitro started every week, I didn't give a fuck who had the opening bout. Any cruiser match was going to be gold. Oh, here comes Stinko Malenko. Awesome. JUVY!!!!! I was jacked. They didn't have shit for a story. Didn't care. They were going to light it up! Malenko's wife wouldn't be able to say it, but we could. Because like any good show, there were things going on everywhere. It's amazing how 72 Hollywood writers can't make it interesting. You don't need ECW, ECW, ECW. You don't need Val Venis. Tell me a story with the rest of the show. Get me excited to watch. Get me to tell my friends to watch without being laughed at. Get me to invite my friends over. But, I digress.
That's not where we're at in the WWE business model. The net was down last quarter, but they're still making money. The COO is seemingly a good guy, but could be a total shitbird. I don't think they want anyone to get hot enough to make things crazy. I know that sounds stupid, but I really don't think they want one or two guys getting huge again.

And for the record, randomone is just mad that Raw is undisputedly the better show now. You're right, out of 5 uninteresting hours of programming THIS WEEK, Raw had the 1 hour that was the least shitty-est of them all. Take that as a victory & run!
Roman/Strowman continuing. Fine. Joe/Rollins continuing. Fine Hardys/Cesaro/Sheamus continuing. Fine. (the tag turmoil being the one bright spot on the show for me, thought it was great) Miz/Ambrose happening for the 870th time. Fine. (the addition of Wyatt/Balor to it confuses me, but whatever, fine)
It's just nothing, like Drop In said, that makes me go "I can't wait to see what they do this week!" and more like "Oh, I wonder what they'll do this week." There's a big difference there.
I'm never going to criticize you KS for liking the product, that's a good thing. It's just I can't get on board with what they are putting out there each week. It seems like, as a company, they're spinning wheels until a big show comes around & they can milk it for main stream attention. Roman vs Brock is already booked for Mania next year, they're just filling time to get there.
Cut to Smackdown, where, with the exception of AJ/Owens (which I say just because both are great talkers & their matches will be fantastic), you look at the rest of the roster & storylines going on there & there's nothing that makes me interested on that show either (minus Fashion Files & Lana's dancing). It's unfortunate.

I will show you people the light if it kills me. And it just might. I'm actually jacked you love it. If you remember the start of my debate a while back, the performers are above and beyond. My best friend's (step) kid is a huge wrestling fan while MY friend is not. He can't wait to talk to me about wrestling. I love it as I walk him to the bus on occasion. "OK, I still think Roman......." GET ON THE BUS! If Vince, Hunter, BDogg, and Hayes picked out four guys......... We're going to light a fire.......... Who wants it......... Put that writer with each........ It would be very easy to get one or two of those guys HUGELY over. There's so much talent, and SOOOO many talented "bookers."
