Don Callis is with Kevin on the call. They're great together.
Bucks win a great opener. Good story told with Matt & Yoh having bad backs early on. Nick Jackson stole that match for me, he was amazing. Bucks rule. And they hit a Meltzer Driver!
Very fun opener.

Nice match. My only real criticism is I do think they move a little too fast. Got to let some of those big moves breathe a bit. I also understand that's just the style. I could really get used to this. Man this just adds a whole new level of sucking for Michael Cole and gang (looking at Vince).

Do we know the order? My guess is Jericho is on second to last?

Post by randomone on Jan 4, 2018 2:41:52 GMT -6
Yeah the order is Naito/Okada is main. Kenny/Jericho is co main. White/Tanahashi is 3rd from last.
Suzuki-gun vs War Machine/Elgin to start the gauntlet. Doesn't bode well for my pick to win this, dammit.
This should be War Machine's farewell, NXT bound for them.

Sabre chokes out Rowe and Suzuki-gun advances! Hanson missed a huge moonsault which was awesome looking.
CHAOS out next.

Damn you Yano and your shenanigans! Constantly punching people in the dick! CHAOS advances & eliminates Suzuki-gun.
Makabe, Taguchi & Juice out next

Yano rolled up Taguchi
Roa, Tonga & Fale out next
Really wish Ishii & Trent were doing something more on this show. Seems like they're just fillers in this match.

Trent tried a moonsault on Roa, but Tonga jumped in & hit a gun stun in mid air on Trent. Looked cool, but Tonga took forever to get in position.
TRENT JUST GOT THE PIN!! Trent, Yano & Ishii win! CHAOS are the champs!
Fun match.

Brandi. Wowza.
What a great job of Cody betting on himself and proving he's better than what the old man and his goof troop think at the E. Fuck those guys.

Cody's been working all over the world, making a shit ton of money with The Bucks. Good for him, always been a fan.

HOLY FUCK CROSS RHODES OFF THE APRON TO THE FLOOR!!
Ibushi landed right on his head it looked like. Might've tucked at the last second, but fuck that was brutal looking.

Ibushi wins via knee & Phoenix splash.
Match was slow to start, with all the Brandi interference, but picked up in a major way after that Cross Rhodes to the floor. After that the match was really good.
Really strong showing for Cody & obviously Ibushi is great.
EVIL & SANADA vs Davey Boy & Archer up next for the tag titles

I enjoyed the Brandi interference though. Another solid match. I may go to sleep here for a bit and come back for Jericho. Waking up at 4:30am

I definitely liked the Brandi interference too, just thought the match picked up majorly after all of it.
You'll only miss this tag match, Goto/Suzuki and Tanahashi/White. You should be back in time.

LIJ win the titles in a very fun tag match.
KES used power moves for most of it as LIJ was never really in control. Davey has improved so much over the years. He & Archer are a really good team. EVIL & SANADA winning was the most predictable outcome on the card imo.
Goto vs Suzuki hair vs hair is next.

Stiff. As. Fuck.
Goto wins the title after a hard hitting war! Suzuki hit literally like a 35 chop/slap combo at one point, busted Goto's mouth open. Suzuki had it won, almost choked Goto out, but was too occupied wanting to hit the Gotch piledriver, it cost him. Hell of a match. Suzuki now has to shave his head.

Ospreay takes the title in a pretty great match. Wasn't as flippy as you'd expect from these guys, but they made it entertaining. Obviously there was still flips aplenty, just not as many as I was expecting. Bummed Hiromu lost. Poor Daryl doesn't get gold.
I'm over the whole Marty umbrella thing honestly.
White/Tanahashi up next.

I'm here. I'll have to rewatch Tanahashi/White. Dozed off. Woke up just in time for Y2J/Kenny.
Kenny just got busted open.

Kenny is taking a fucking beating. I’m feeling uncomfortable with all these chairshots to the head. Most of them don’t appear very protected.

I’m also digging this alpha version of jericho.

Yeah the chair shots are rough. Jericho rolling through One Winged Angel into The Walls was smooth as fuck.
Jericho has taken like 12 V-Triggers. Each more brutal than the last.

Holy shit that finish.
Great match. I would have love to have seen Jericho win and let this run a year for a rematch win for Omega a year from now. Nice notch for Omega on his belt. Well done all.
