Honestly would've liked for him to just show up at the PPV and not the go home show. He needs to turn heel like immediately though.

He needs to be straight up stone cold killer, take out anyone, face or heel, type of role. Have him be a legit psychopath and not some marketing Lunatic Fringe horseshit.
Don't even keep him in the IC title picture. Have him murder Roman the night after and boom you have your next contender.
That is if Braun doesn't win, which I'm not sure.
Even so, Ambrose needs to be away from The Shield stuff and reinvent himself big time.
