Hulk Hogan appearing on next Monday's Raw as part of a Mean Gene tribute. Always good to see the Hulkster on WWE programming.

On one hand, you can somewhat understand why they're doing it because Hogan was one of the top guys associated with Gene.
On the other hand, they're opportunistic and it's kind of shitty they're using Mean Gene's death as a way to bring Hogan back. You know fans will cheer him during a memorial to Gene. They aren't going to boo him in that regard.
I'd be fine with never seeing Hogan on WWE TV again to be quite honest. What he said was really fucked up.
Then again I don't watch RAW live anymore so I'll just skip his involvement.

I love Hulk. He was always my #1 until Jericho supplanted him.

He's been in WWE so long that I tend to forget how ridiculous of a name Dolph Ziggler is. I know he's been doing a lot of standup comedy, so maybe he wants his regular name for that?

I didn't notice this as I unfollowed him quite some time ago. He's just so terribly unfunny that I couldn't stand it anymore. I'm flabbergasted that he's a comedian.

I just saw that Seth Rollins real name is Colby. And that struck me as weird...he just doesn't look like a Colby to me...I dunno.
Back to your regularly schedule thread.

WWE has had plans to do Lars Sullivan vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 35, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. However, that match may not happen due to a situation that came up this week.
Sullivan was scheduled to make his main roster debut at the January 7 RAW from Orlando, likely a dark match. Sullivan either didn't show up to the arena or did show up, and left the building, apparently due to an anxiety attack.
WWE officials talked with Sullivan and smoothed things over, and everything was fine. Sullivan was then supposed to work a dark match the next night at SmackDown in Jacksonville but he didn't show up, and apparently flew back home to Colorado. No other details on his status and the match with Cena are known at this time.
Lars had been scheduled for a "monster push" on WWE's main roster. You could assume that Lars would have won his first big match, against Cena at WrestleMania, but a source noted to The Observer that the win could be premature. While the match was on the books for WrestleMania, officials had not discussed the finish.
It's believed that the Cena vs. Sullivan feud would have kicked off at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view later this month. We should know more on if the match will happen then.

It's the NXT UK Takeover. Not sure if I'll watch it or not. The UK tournament was pretty awesome.

I'm definitely watching tomorrow.
The UK show has been pretty good. Has a different vibe than regular NXT.

Since we have a two-inch blizzard on the way I should be around. I feel like that could be an unimpressive nickname for a white guy.

They need to do a Mastiff vs. Otis Dozovic Winner gets a neck match...Special Referee is Jake the Milkman Millman.
I thought the NXT UK Takeover was well done. The place exploded for Balor.
As much as I liked Ripley as champ, Toni deserved it.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com is reporting that The Revival could be leaving WWE soon but it hasn't been confirmed that the team actually outright asked for a release. There was apparently a situation at RAW which has led to people within the company having "reason to be very fearful that The Revival are done or finishing up with the company."
- PWInsider.com is reporting that both Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have been medically cleared to return to action. The Bludegon Brothers tag-team could be back on television as soon as next week.

They beat New Day in their debut and shortly after both guys got injured, halting the push. They have been healthy enough the last year to get a push but haven't. They deserve better and if that means going to AEW or ROH, good for them.

Mike and Maria Kanellis have also requested their release. Doesn't mean they'll necessarily get it, but they've requested it. He wrestled on Smackdown a total of 4 times before getting lost on Main Event purgatory.
Dude never got a fucking chance on the main roster. Does anyone else remember they introduced him as the husband of Maria, she met him when he was working at a greeting card store (or something like that)? HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET OVER WITH THAT?
He got clean from drug addiction, got in the best shape of his life, had a child with his wife, got shipped to 205 Live and has done zero there too.
He's a talented wrestler and Maria is a smoke show and a great valet during a time where there aren't many. She was pregnant then injured for a while, but they still haven't done anything together. They deserve better. AEW would be a solid place for them. Not saying he's a main event guy, but you need guys on your roster and they'd be solid additions.

I'm convinced Cena has one of those inspirational/motivational cubes he tweets from on a daily basis. He just doesn't seem like a real person.

Becky v Asuka is the highlight match for the females.

Apparently Maria didn't ask for her release. Here's her statement. Notice she says nothing about her husband asking for his release, so I assume that part is still true.
"I was not going to address this but I am getting phone calls and emails about it. I DID NOT ask for my release. Speculation and rumors are running rampant. Someone is playing all the wrestling news sites. It’s a game. I’ve been in professional wrestling for 15 years and what I do in front of the camera will only be a small part of the full story. I have relationships with fans, talent, producers, and their families. I have been in the hospital when people have been injured and backstage to hug someone that just had a great match. I don’t need to stir up shit. I don’t need to put others down. I am an imperfect human that has learned from past mistakes. Whoever is leaking rumors I pity you. And your desperate attempt for attention while disparaging my husband and I. I’m gonna take the weekend off of social media to hang out with my beautiful family and I suggest whoever it is does the same. Social media is not fact. It is fantasy, a nightmare, or a place for bullies. I want to use this for motivation to be positive everyday. I am still learning how to be a mom. I still fight postpartum depression. And I still try and become a better person everyday. I don’t need this made up extra stress. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and thank you for your support.”
