When WWE does something right, they do it right.

Rob Naylor said according to friends of his who still work there, WWE has never tested anyone until today. They only did temperature checks.
Multi BILLION dollar company and they can't spring for Covid tests?
Fuckin hell

Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that multiple people that were recently at the WWE Performance Center including in-ring talent have tested positive for Covid-19. Satin noted the following:
"While it’s unclear when they were tested exactly, or how many of them were for wrestlers, sources tell us at least three people who had been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando received positive test results this week."
Satin added that more testing will be done by WWE’s medical team before the next batch of television tapings to make sure the virus hasn't spread to others.
New Covid-19 cases have spiked in the state of Florida to record-highs over the last several days.

Oh my God. Dozens of healthy athletes may have contracted a virus to which they have minimal risk of even showing symptoms.
The horror!

But a high risk to be a carrier to friends or family that are at risk due to health conditions or are immuno-compromised. But by all means lets put those people at risk because a billion dollar company can't do proper testing of these individuals who are in close proximity and an environment where transmission is likely. I just don't understand the flippancy on this still. What does the death toll have to get to for this to be taken seriously and actual measures taken to stop the spread of this virus?

Nothing will stop the spread of this virus. I get the worry about spreading it to vulnerable peoples. That's valid. Generally healthy people have little to no risk of having anything worse than a cold. We have to stop thinking that this virus is a death sentence for 99.99% of the country.

I disagree that nothing can stop the spread of the virus - look at Vietnam and South Korea. And 150k dead out of a population of 350 million is more than .01%. Regardless of that - we don't know long term effects even for healthy people that recover. And as Kayla tweeted - getting it more than once. I know this isn't the thread for it so we can continue in another one.

I'm going to double down on my opinion that the Governor of Illinois and Mayor of Chicago took, and are still taking, way too much heat for their leadership.
Now back to our regularly scheduled posting in this thread.

I can't speak for Peeps, but my flippancy is 100% based on my own fears. I don't want to believe this is as bad as it seems to be so it's easier for the sake of my mental health to focus on the larger percentage of people who are less severely affected by the virus. My honest opinion without flippancy or sarcasm is that this is a hopeless situation from which humanity will not recover. That depresses me, so I choose not to think about it.

Now back to our regularly scheduled posting in this thread. Pritzker and Lightfoot are terrible and hate freedom. They are dictators who enjoyed exercising control over people. Looks like it worked out for them though. The problem is we've now made it ok for government to step in and dictate how private businesses should operate under the guise of "public safety".

By definition politicians are going to be people that seek power and believe they know more than others. I've said from the beginning this can't set a precedent like the Patriot Act. If we want to argue there should have been better plans in place to have a response instead of having to guess as much. Fine. But with the information they had, which changed day to day, they did well in my opinion.
