Finally watched the McAfee-Cole match. Time for me to hurt feelings with my thoughts...
1. McAfee’s promo was decent but came off a little too fake.
2. McAfee needs to learn how to do a lockup.
3. McAfee actually has some pretty decent ring psychology. Better than some that do this on a weekly basis.
4. McAfee has sold a couple of moves really well. I’m really surprised at how well he has done with taking offense and selling. A good handful on the other channel could take lesson from that. The pace of this match was really well done - more my style of how a match should breathe.
5. McAfee has to sell major offensive moves better. The senton to the outside was beautiful but he’s got to sell that. The super flex spot was awesome but again he has to sell that a bit more for himself too.
6. McAfee actually throws a really decent punch. Shane McMahon could take lesson on that.
7. I overall am stunned with how well he did.
8. Adam Cole obviously did a hell of a job throughout to make him look good. Apparently they did not rehearse this and other than some spots it was called in the ring.
It’s almost be a waste for this to be a one and done for McAfee.

Not having watched the match, how does he rank compared to say, Lawrence Taylor?

Not having watched the match, how does he rank compared to say, Lawrence Taylor? Hmm....that’s a good question. I feel like maybe I should watch LT again as I might have recent bias. LT’s match was on such a grand scale. McAfee-Cole was just another match but for the most part it was just done well. If you had someone who hadn’t watch wrestling in ten years they wouldn’t be able to say on their own that McAfee hadn’t really done this before.

From a purely athletic standpoint, I'm going with Pat. However, if I had to watch his or LT's match again, I'm choosing LT.
I know Adam Cole & Bigelow are about as different of opponents as you can get, but there's tons more emotion in the LT match. I was drawn more to that than Pat.
I agree, I should check that LT match out again. When I saw it as a kid on PPV, it really did feel like a major event. It was also a way I could get my dad to order a WWF PPV too.
