Omega hits One Winged Angel, but Moxley puts his foot on the ropes, triggering the explosion into Kenny's face to break up the pin. I don't care if this match isn't for you, that's fucking genius.
That is actually good. That applies logic. Passing on pinning someone to win a match and asked to be slapped in the face is fucking stupid. (What I saw on Dynamite) “God Dammmmnnnnnnnn”

They really went for the TNA feel tonight!

Why is Eddie hurt? A couple sparklers went off?!!! This is great. Because this was supposed to be the big finish, the ring was supposed to explode and you'll have Kingston protecting Moxley.
The firework/explosions whiffed by a mile, but Kingstonw as supposed to sell it like death.
So close to that being amazing, I feel bad for them.

PPV was okay.
Some nice moments but overall felt like an episode of Dynamite.

They really went for the TNA feel tonight! TNA would've planned for that to be the finale explosions. I don't think that's what they were going for.
Hell with TNA they would've used plastic barbed wire.
That finish sucked, but that PPV was very good overall. 95% of that show ruled.

They shouldn’t have even teased it for it to end up being Christian Cage. Would have been way better for him to show up unannounced on Dynamite. That was completely unnecessary and ended up being a let down - and this is coming from a fairly big Christian fan.

Yeah they shouldn't have let the internet run with it and make it much bigger than it was. I mean I bit, I thought Brock, Punk, Cormier. But as you have more time to fantasy book, you have more time to be disappointed.
I dig Christian, but it screams TNA.
Biggest moment of the night was the return of WR by far!

We thought big because they teased big. I read someone else say the only way this is big if it were to be Brock or Punk. If this was truly going to be a big signing worth teasing at your PPV it had to be Cena, Undertaker, Punk or Brock. That’s the list. I realize how ridiculous those names might sound for them to sign but they have money for days to blow. He’s too old but I liked the idea for Undertaker because he tried to do that gig with Conrad a couple years back. AEW can afford him. And then I thought maybe in a cinematic Sting match he might show up or they would deliver on Sting vs Undertaker in a cinematic match down the road. They promoted big so I went “All In” on that promotion.

Just coming to post that Peeps!
I think fans have been let down by WWE so much that when the promise of a "big signing" elsewhere is promised, our minds race & we want the biggest ever, but ultimately end up disappointed.
This isn't a make or break signing for me, but I can't help but be let down. Mainly because TNA did this same fucking thing in 2006 and I want AEW to be farthest away from TNA possible.

As you said earlier randomone, with Edge main-eventing Mania, the optics of the Christian signing look even worse.

Tony Khan pretty much went with Omega made a dud/faulty explosion as the storyline.
I don’t blame him honestly. Might as well make a story out of the fuck up. Omega can come back and say Mox should thank him.
The ending sucks but you can easily follow it up with the weasel heel doing more dickish things.

Instead of Captain America I thought of when Jon Lovitz tossed himself in front of Billy Crystal's character in City Slickers II.

Have Kingston open the show in the ring Wednesday. Have him be angry and almost embarrassed at what happened. Omega, Callis, Good Brothers, etc. come out. They are mocking Kingston from the ramp. They talk about how he messed up their plans but made it even better. What a clown, etc. Mox's music hits and he comes out from the crowd all fucked up and limping a bit. Kingston says he doesn't want to hear it from Mox either. Kingston calls himself an idiot and tries to leave the ring. Mox grabs him by the arm. They aren't saying much, nothing on mic. Most of it is uncomfortable looks and stares as Omega and crew are laughing.
Mox starts to cut a promo. Kingston says, again off mic. "My Dad wasn't around. My Dad wasn't around. You can't do that. You have a kid now." The emotion in the ring is building. Mox doesn't say anything. After a while, they give each other a deep hug. Not a big dramatic arms out Mega Powers handshake. Real deal. Wait a bit. Mox looks at Kingston, shrugs, they both nod, and head to the ramp. They go up to the ramp swinging like each of those guys punched their mom in front of them. Eventually the heel group of five plus try to retreat from Mox and Kingston. They're so fired up Kingston kicks a hole in part of the entrance area.
I think it instantly makes both of those guys even more over and removes some stink from the PPV ending. You acknowledge it sucked but don't dwell on it. Go off the positives.

I've always avoided having guys like Kingston in my group of friends. The guy that you know is going to be in shit every time you go out. But the older I get, the more I appreciate the loyalty a guy like that brings. I quote the movie The Break Up.
"I'll call my friends over. We're not talking about a couple sprites with a chop to the throat. I'm talking Polacks that don't have a future!" I'm not mixing wrestling with reality. In this case it's the same.
