That was probably the hottest a crowd has ever been (minus Wee-LC) for a pre show match. Riho is great and I’m happy she’s now living in America and we will get more of her.
But Serena fucking Deeb is a gem they need to be building more. We need more of her on TV, she’s fantastic.

Fuckin A Cage vs Page felt like a PWG match from 2015 except instead of 300 people there it was 5,000.
I know Cage was dressed as a Machine but he looked like a swoll baked potato haha
Loved the post match. Starks playing the “you can’t shove me because of my neck” so Cage just shoves Hook and storms off.
I hope Omega vs Hangman happens at All Out but I don’t want Kenny losing the title anytime soon. We still have forbidden door stuff left to do.

Ho...ly Shit was that entrance for Mox & King great. Next to the Hangman/Omega vs Bucks match, this was the best tag match in AEW.
Diorsday Device was classic. Murdering Mox with 4 BTE Triggers was a nice finish even though this was to the point where I was actually pissed the Bucks won. The place would’ve came unglued if they did a title switch.
I have zero idea where Mox & Kingston go from here. I would’ve bounced the titles back & forth.
So fucking good.

Battle Royal was pretty fun, but you can’t follow that tag match. I fast forwarded a bit, but Max telling Christian he’s too old and he’s lost his Edge was brilliant.
It was a standard battle royal which was fine. Lio Rush is signed to New Japan so I don’t think he’s “All Elite” but this was just the forbidden door a little bit. Regardless if they use him a bit, that’s cool.
Super happy Jungle Boy won, but he’s getting his title shot on a Friday Dynamite which not a lot of people will tune in for unfortunately. I don’t think he’d win anyway, but it’ll be a crazy great match I’m sure.

Cody vs Ogogo. Ok, so I was annoyed Cody won, until I saw Ogogo in the ring. He’s so fucking green and struggled in this one. He wasn’t terrible by any stretch but you can see how inexperienced he is still. So Cody winning absolutely made sense. If Ogogo was this green, taking out Cody quick and murdering guys doesn’t give him a chance to improve at all. He just needs more time. This was what it was. I think it was a makeshift PPV match for Cody on Memorial Day weekend.
Cody has beaten QT, Ogogo and Solow now, clean. That leaves Comoroto. Unless they have Comoroto beat Cody, then this Factory faction is a stinker.

Hoss fight time and Miro & Lance beat the shit out of each other. You know they’re heavy hitters when commentary barely reacted to the table spot as if it were a fucking wrist lock being applied. Right guy won obviously and I hope the PETA people don’t come after Miro for throwing a bag up the ramp haha.

Very happy Britt won and rightfully so, plus you have your next match for All Out with Rosa already right there. Have Britt avenge her non-sanctioned loss at the next PPV.
As for the match I thought it was super sloppy and clunky. Crowd got the finish they wanted but man was I disappointed with the actual match. I don’t know if they lost their place or (hopefully not) someone got knocked loopy. Something just seemed off. The pop at the end was incredible though. And Tony hugging Britt was great. Though I sort of hoped she kicked him low or something haha.
Overall Riho vs Serena was a better wrestling match, but Britt winning the title was all that mattered in her match. And I’m glad they gave the people what they wanted.

3 way was excellent and a lot of fun. The false finishes with Orange nearly winning was one of the biggest pops of the night. I dug the Kenny can’t break the Brutalizer so he just takes out the red instead spot. Callis getting involved made sense and I liked the flash pin from Omega.

Ok before the main event, there were so many interference spots in all the matches and they need to keep it to 1 or 2 tops.
Opener - Starks & Hook
Tag Titles - Good Bros, Cutler & Kazarian
Cody/Ogogo - Arn & QT
Archer/Miro - Jake
Shida/Britt - Reba
3 Way - Callis
It’s just too much. It takes away from when you do the spot in a super important match. Stop it.

Stampede was also a lot of fun IMO. You took the match they had to go off of when the pandemic started and then it transitioned into current times. Cinematic match bled into reality.
I liked the cameos from Urban Meyer, Konnan, cardboard cutout of Mr. Khan.
Everyone got their little segments and ultimately Sammy had to be the one to win it and Spears is the low man in the Pinnacle so I liked that too. Sammy was the one who “gave up” for Blood & Guts, so he’s redeemed here.
The crowd singing was the perfect final scene on a show where the fans ruled most of the night in their returned. It was a fitting ending I thought. Now, where do they go from here with both factions though?

Show started so hot that it had to come down to earth in the middle. It picked back up towards the end but I really enjoyed this show and was happy to see fans back.
From all indications the number for Dynamite Friday will be brutal (I’ve heard down like 35-38% possibly from the previous week which is rough), but hopefully buzz about this show and strong cards will build it back up a bit before they thankfully move back to Wednesday’s after these fuckin playoffs.
Everyone worked hard, they have a great roster, it didn’t feel like a chore to watch. Good stuff.

I just realized I forgot to talk about the Sting tag.
Motherfucker is 62 and took a suplex on the ramp, no sold and did a dive off the stage! He did great. I don’t want him wrestling every PPV but for what it was, he was great and Sky & Page sold perfectly.
Darby is a star. I legit didn’t think he’d make landing into the front row off that press from Page. That was insane.
What do you do with Darby? Keep slowly elevating him until he’s in World Title status? I’m not sure.
Regardless that match was also a lot of fun.
