Smart if true. You can always have a Hell in a Cell match for feuds that need it, but having multiples every year really diminishes the match.

I’d can Hell in a Cell, Extreme Rules, TLC (if that still exists)
Shows don’t need gimmicks. Let the storylines speak for themselves and if that requires a gimmick match, then fine.
I hated Hell in a Cell so much because every year a random match would just have that stip for a feud that started maybe 2 weeks prior, who gives a shit?

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com had some additional details regarding the situation. Meltzer noted that there were “meaningful talks” between WWE and AEW about having Gunn appear on the show. It was said that money being exchanged wasn’t a factor as WWE never offered money and AEW President Tony Khan never asked for money. Meltzer explained what Khan wanted…
“Khan agreed to let him do to the show but on the air they would have to mention he’s from AEW, or that AEW allowed him to appear or some wording, but there had to be one mention that in some form he works for AEW, just as WWE already did when they got Mickie James for the Royal Rumble this past year.”
According to Meltzer, WWE stalled when it came to giving Khan an answer and would not agree to the terms at the last minute.
