Nia vs Liv. I’m done now. One of those matches should be a dark match. Hopefully the 3 hour Raw dies with Netflix.

So the folks who weren’t drafted (due to not being injured/pregnant/mentioned in Vince’s texts/etc) were…
Tamina - hasn’t wrestled since February 2023 Dexter Lumis - hasn’t wrestled since May 2023 Nikki Cross - hasn’t wrestled since October 2023 Omos - aside from battle royals, only wrestles on house shows
Not including NXT call ups or the “supplemental draft”, 11 folks switched shows. Out of 2 nights and 5 hours of programming.

Not everything can be a hit. And the draft certainly wasn't.
Hopefully they stop doing this going forward.

2002-2005ish was the best time for the draft where they took it seriously

True but even then it was a little silly. I thought with Vince gone, they’d be able to do this the right way. They just don’t get it still.

Especially in AEW. For some reason nobody with either company has been able to understand how it works. Doing it in a company like WWE is silly. It's contrived BS. If AEW were to do it with ROH, and they stayed apart, it could work. But you have to do it and commit.

In my humble opinion...
I don't really see the point of WWE having a brand split. I've been saying this for years. When it first started in '02, I understood it because they had WCW and ECW talent trying to merge into WWE. WWE hasn't had an insanely deep roster since about maybe 2005-ish, so it hasn't been necessary for a very long time.
I think weekly episodic wrestling is better when you can't predict who will be on each show. Brand splits make shit very formulaic, and there's never enough talent to carry either individual show, so they always wind up with people from the other show popping up anyway.
The brand split was exposed as meaningless around 2004, where they'd literally run the same combinations of matches several weeks in a row because both rosters weren't deep enough for fresh matchups. Go back and try to watch a month of Smackdown episodes from September or October of '04 and you'll see what I mean.

Maybe because it was a fresh concept back in 02 and I was still in the Attitude Era fandom (while everyone bailed in high school)?
It wasn’t ran into the ground like it’s become.
The only enjoyable part anymore is watching NXT kids reactions because most of the time they genuinely don’t know they’re getting called up. You think Blair Davenport or Kianna James knew they were getting called? I don’t think so.

Drew and Asuka both injured and will miss the King and Queen of the Ring. Not sure if these are worked injuries to just get them out of the tournament or not. If legit, that sucks, but when I saw both in the tournaments (even Asuka), I was assuming they’d win it all or get fucked over somehow. Do we need King McIntyre? Dude is already the most over he’s been in his career arguably. Slapping a King gimmick would suck. Though Queen Asuka would’ve been fun.

Raw staying on USA through the end of the year. Wasn’t that always the plan? Originally USA said the contract ran through September, and the Netflix deal didn't start until January. So it was up in the air what would happen for those 3 months. But WWE and Comcast/NBC came to an agreement for $25 million today to extend it.
