Congrats on slaying. Nothing but respect there…
However, am I the only one that doesn’t find him really all that funny. He’s a bit better with pre-recorded material, but I’m not sure he’s ever been all that funny on SNL. He’s nowhere close to probably 10-15 cast members he’s worked with. I get the jimmy fallon vibe in terms of which cast member doesn’t belong in this skit because they’re not funny. I don’t really know how he was identified as being talented enough to be where he is today.
Is this just a generational gap thing for me? Is there some type of comedy with Gen Z I’m missing here? I actually find a lot of the snl cast over the last 15 years to be pretty funny even though I know the show gets trashed on a lot. Honestly curious to hear everyone’s take on this.

He's not funny. Isn't his claim to fame his dad dying on 9/11? Yea that’s a thing but obviously not going to shit on him for that. People do find him funny and I think all of them are under 30? I have nothing against him as a person. I’m just trying to find his appeal. On another note, watched the Mulvaney standup on Netflix and was very meh for me. |

I liked Pete on SNL but I don't care for his standup.
Kevin Hart is a guy who I've never found that funny.

For the record, even though I rarely watch tv, the few clips of Davidson I've seen, I don't understand his comedic value.
Not sure I find Jim carrey all that funny either.

As I've mentioned countless times, I don't watch much if any tv. But I did watch a fair share of Mork & Mindy. Fairly certain I never laughed at any of it. Point being, I thought Robin Williams as a comic was horrendous.
Now Robin Williams as a dramatic actor was outstanding from my limited knowledge. Wasn't he in some photo-stalker type of flick? I loved him in whatever that was.

Loved Carey up until maybe 2010?
Robin Williams had his moments as a standup comedian but I did not find mork and mindy funny at all.
Bobcat was just odd. Preferred him in police academy movies but even then his shelf life is like 15 seconds max
