He'll have a nice showing at the Rumbel. He'll put over Seth at Mania. He'll be in some solid matches and not have any issues.
It'll be a nice ending run for his career. It won't be as good as it could've been in AEW, but it'll be better than ending like it would've.

It just is what it is. I guess it makes sense. Dude pretty much had nowhere else to go. The E probably got him pretty cheap as he's got little to no leverage. He's like what? 15, 20th or so on the WWE pecking order? So when he starts getting out of control and dividing lockerrooms, they'll put a halt to that in a hurry as he just isn't worth it. He's also frail and incredibly injury prone. And 45. I like some of his social stances but he's a hypocrite and an asshole. I don't miss him in AEW. Plus his dog is vicious and ugly. Hi Negativity KS

According to Uncle Dave, everyone in the main event was told about Punk's appearance beforehand.

From what I remember, wrestling is awesome and I am supposed to root for everyone and every match is awesome. Yet, when I go to the wwe threads those rules don’t seem to apply…

Supposedly Drew was upset after the show and hasn't signed a new deal. I don't believe a single word of wrestling news, so take that as you want. Perhaps it's because I haven't watched for a while, but he looked like a giant star last night. Literally. I don't know if it was the way they were shooting him, but he looked like a fit Andre next to some of those guys. Let him go to AEW. It wouldn't make the slightest dent in WWE business or the dumb war, but Drew and AEW could really benefit from each other right now. Let Drew promote the hell out of the Wembley show and have a big run leading up to it. He won't even be in the IC picture for the next year or so with all the talent. If he's leaving anyway, show this isn't Vince's company now. Let him go.

The internet doesn't do Punk's return justice. Go back and watch that replay on Peacock if possible. Watch the crowd when the music hits. Watch it multiple times. I don't know what to tell you if it doesn't bring a smile to your face.

I’m dead inside then, haha.
I’ll always enjoy a wild crazy pop regardless, but I’m not in the “this is the greatest thing ever!” camp I’ve been seeing online.
Considering the circumstances on how it came about and everything Punk has said about the company not that long ago (and what the company did to him initially), it was just hard to completely mark out for it like I did say for the First Dance. I’m not hating on anyone that did though.
Do I think Punk is a hypocrite? Yes. But is wrestling filled with hypocrites? Absolutely (Bret came back). It’s all about money in the end and dude is going to get his cash, so in that sense, I completely get it.
It’s going to do business and that’s what it’s all about. Fans win ultimately. And I’m a fan of wrestling, so there you go.

I truly believe WWE is so hot right now that anyone on their roster not named Roman Reigns could go to AEW starting Wednesday and it wouldn’t hurt them at all.

The timing.....show ending......announcers saying goodbye.......graphic on the screen.......thanks for coming out folks.......in that arena.......with the wood ceiling..........shit I guess it's over..........just kidding here's CM Punk. Watch people literally, correct use of the word, leaping. The collective sound of people saying "ohhhhhhhhhhhhh" because it's the shock reaction. They're not going to remember if Dragon Lee didn't quite rotate as well on a Hubanomieraca as he did in Mexico in 2019, dropping the match 1/4 star. They're going to come back because they felt fucking amazing leaving Allstate Arena. I guess this is more props to Hunter than Punk. I'm kind of indifferent to the latter at this point. It wasn't as good as Last Dance for me either. But the way that was timed out and the crowd reaction was in the running for greatest thing ever. Recent comp would be the double debut of Danielson and Cole, strictly from a timing standpoint.

Yeah that’s the Trips signature, credits fake out.
Until I see the show fade to black and cut to what is usually a pointless Charlotte or Bobby Lashley post show random superstar package will I know the show is actually over.
I kinda feel bad for Orton. Been out a year, comes back jacked to the gills and is sort of forgotten about due to Pepsi Phil.
Maybe that comes into play down the line storyline wise?

I'm seeing many WWE fans suddenly change their tunes on Mr. Brooks. He was a washed up troublemaker in AEW, now suddenly it's a great moment for WWE. I ain't buying that bullshit.
I will say, however, that this will be a successful run for Punk and he will rightfully be a HOF'er when all is said and done.

I just watched it. That was great. You go to events like that for moments and they created that. Just the whole feel of the event was BIG. I hadn't watched a "premium Live Event" in a while but it was definitely noticeable that this was a big deal visually.

When I was watching live, I was expecting a fakeout with the credits. But I was expecting a Randy heel turn or something.
When Cult of Personality hit, it was a legit OHMYGOD moment. And they didn't overstay the moment. He came out the crowd went insane, and then the show was done. Leave some suspense for Monday night.
Just really well done.

I think what we're seeing is the importance of competition.
WWE hasn't been this hot since probably 2005 or 2006.
This is proof of why the sale of WCW harmed the business, and why the nearly 20 years without a legit competitor yielded such a stale WWE product for so long.
AEW forced WWE to step their shit up. We all win.

I'm glad for Tony Khan and what he's done for wrestling. But I think at this point he's doing more harm than good from a perception standpoint.
He needs a public facing executive. Someone to do the media scrums, the on screen "major announcements", and so on.
I listened to his media scrum from Full Gear, and he sounds like a crazy person.
I don't know who that person is. But I don't think having it continue to be Tony is best for business.

I don't know if that person is even in AEW right now, but you're right about what is needed.

I don't even think he needs a Nick Khan. I think he needs a HHH.
He needs someone who, when he speaks about the company and what's going on, sounds competent and can deliver a coherent message.
