The officiating in this women's gold medal game is abhorrent. And the amount of travelling going on without being called is crazy. Worse than 4 stride Euro step. Also that shot by the USA that hit the top of the backboard and went in counts? That should be out of play.

But why the fuck are black and brown people always attacked with racial shit online in these situations? It's beyond old. And then, when the attacked person says, "This is what's happening to me", even more people rush to tell them to shut up and stop being sensitive. I mean, am I missing something here? I'm so sick of bigoted motherfuckers in this country. And many times these will be the same motherfuckers who will straight up deny that racism is a thing, or even worse yet, will claim that the ruling class are the ones being discriminated against. Sorry about that outburst. I'm just frustrated because just an hour ago I was on YouTube and saw some more unnecessary racist shit in the comments. I think i need to take an internet break. It gets really tiresome.

The answer is because people online generally suck.
Nobody should have to go through racial abuse.
By the same token, I've seen people attacking the Romanian gymnast online and saying that "they" only did this because there were 3 black girls on the podium and they don't like that.
Race is the easiest thing to use to generate division. And scummy fucking people use whatever they can.

If a person can't prove that there was a racial component, then just shut the fuck up about it because it diminishes those situations where racism is actually happening. |
