So the girl's mom who supposedly died is the homeless woman that's popped up throughout the series right?

The Night of the Doctor finally shows Paul McGann's 8th Doctor's regeneration, but it wasn't into Christopher Eccleston. It as into John Hurt who is the real 9th Doctor, credited as The War Doctor in the prequel video. Hopefully that means the Time War will be shown in the 50th Anniversary episode.

A kind of cool Doctor Who episode for the 50th Anniversary.
I was hoping for more of the Time War, and "Rose" wasn't herself. The ending with all 13 Doctors was a nice little touch as was Tom Baker in the museum.
Next up is the Christmas special and the end of Matt Smith's 11th-actually-12th Doctor.

Watched the first season of Lilyhammer on Netfilx.
Steve Van Zandt plays Frank Tagliano, who is basically Silvio from the Sopranos. After the new boss tries to have him killed, Frank goes to the FBI and offers his testimony in exchange for witness relocation. Instead of some warm tropical locale, Frank chooses to live in Lillehammer, Norway because he watched the 94 Olympics and thought it was nice. "Giovanni Henrickson" is born and we head to Norway to follow Frank as he tries to fit in.
It's not bad.
Check it out.
Season 2 starts December 12.

Meh. That was fairly predictable.
I'm sure some will laud SOA for killing two main characters this season. Reality is they probably should have died 2 years ago.

Well Matt Smith is no more and Peter Capaldi is the new Doctor. And he can see his kidneys apparently.
The Christmas Special wrapped up the 11th (or 12th or 13th, depending on how you count it) Doctor's story and deals with some issues from the classic Who series.
We learn that the cracks in the wall and the exploding TARDIS was caused by Madam Kavorian splitting away from the Church of the Papal Mainframe and corrupting some of their priests. Otherwise known as The Silence.
We learn that the Daleks know about the Doctor again from torturing Tasha Lem. Repeatedly.
We learn that when the 10th doctor regenerated into himself, that counted against the 12 regenerations.
The Doctor receives an indecipherable massage coming from some far off planet. The message is from the Time Lords, stowed away in another universe and now trying to claw their way back in to this one. When tbe message is translated, it of course is the oldest question in the universe. Doctor who? The Time Lords are trying to determine if it is the right universe and time to return.
The Doctor discovers there is a truth field around the town which makes lying impossible. So he protects a town called Christmas from nearly every bad guy ever. And he does so for centuries on his own as he sends Clara away. He needs her and the TARDIS gone. He doesn't She want to be tempted to flee.
Clara does return though. She asks the Time Lords for help for her dying Doctor, and the Time Lords redeem themselves from earlier episodes like "The End of Time" by granting the Doctor life anew. Whether this means a whole new set of 13 regenerations is up in the air.
I liked the episode very much, and is a much better send-off than David Tenant's. Some will quibble with the rewriting of history and the inconsistencies with how the Time Lords are portrayed here. And that's justified. But this may have been Matt Smith's best performance and reminded me how much I liked this incarnation of The Doctor.

Ah how I've missed The Following.
