So far I'm thinking about doing a tiered contest.
3 Lists. A, B & C. List A would have 10 drivers. List B would have 15 drivers. List C would have about 25 drivers and/or everybody not on List A or B.
List A Driver would have to finish Top 3 and would get 5 points if successful.
List B Driver would have to finish Top 5 and would get 5 points if successful.
List C Driver would have to finish Top 10 and would get 5 points if successful.
An additional BONUS 10 Points would be given for correctly picking the winner.
Thoughts?

The more I look at it, maybe the A List needs to be 15 deep. If it's only 10 deep, then I think guys like Kurt, Kahne, Biffle, Kes/Gordon would have too much of an advantage in Group B.

I think you should have 3 picks. 1 is locked in and only you can have it and you draft it each week. So if there are 12 in the contest then there are 12 drivers that are taken and off limits. You can pick anyone you want in the 2nd tier and anyone in the 3rd tier. The standings should change each week and so does the draft. So say you have until thursday at midnight to make your pick or you get the guy you had last week unless you drop in the points and get bumped down.

IMO there has to be a consequence for your previous weeks and overall standing. That way would incorporate that but still allow for others to keep up and be in it every week.

....and with my idea you dont have to have a top 15 you just have to have the first round draft picks for each contestant. Top 12 or 15 or whatever takes care of itself each week this way.

Truex might be deserving of the A list. Guys like Gordon or Edwards might be better B's. Truex is consistent and those other 2 are checkers or wreckers guys as of late.
