The early reports had Bryan facing either Sheamus or Kane. If anything, Punk may have actually done him a favor.

Do Orton and Batista really = PPV buys? That triple threat match keeps the card basically the same but gives Bryan the belts. Buys should theoretically be the same and the fans are happy and all is right with the world. Let him keep the belts through the next PPV, which would have some epic Reigns/Bray match carry the buys along with another strong match. Then have him lose the belts on a monday night and get injured and leave for a good while.

I will be flabbergasted and utterly dismayed and will go on a Calvert binge - the likes of which have never been seen before and probably never would again.
Aside from approximately 98% of the fanbase, people are just begging the WWE to do the right thing.
Within the past 24 hours:
From Jim Ross: Daniel Bryan wants HHH at WM30 but will that keep or make Bryan's fans happy? Likely not. WWE has a golden opportunity to provide Bryan and his fans a 'magical moment' in the Mercedes Benz Super Dome come WM30. Time will tell if that happens. It seems too obvious that it should happen for it to not occur.
From DDP: On fans hijacking shows with random chants: "I love it. (laughs) In a very different way, that's what happened for me. The bookers weren't doing shit with me. If you look at 1996, I work with Eddy, we had amazing matches together. But I also worked enhancement matches because that was most of the shit they gave me. The crowd though, watch a video called Diamond Cutters on Everyone. Just watch that video. It's about four minutes long. And watch the people pop when I hit the Diamond Cutter and they pop a little more, a little more, and then a lot more, then a really lot more, then a fuckin' crazy lot more. Ten thousand people in the building would jump to their feet because of all the ways I did the move, it came out of nowhere. You watch that video all the way through, go back and watch it, watch and see who I hit that on. Sting or Hogan or Nash? No, none of ‘em. It was all enhancement guys. So the crowd was with me crazy. WCW had to do something with me. And Daniel Bryan, a couple weeks back where he ended up on top of the cage doing the "Yes!", holy shit. To me, that's as over as I've ever seen anybody. It may be the most."
From Mick Foley: On WWE's usage of Daniel Bryan: "But I think WWE needs to accept (PLEASE listen to me here, any WWE writer, exec, or power in charge) that the ability to turn the tide hinges on finding a way to make Daniel Bryan part of that main event. For me, personally, as a wrestler, a good feud was just as important as a title shot. But the WWE Universe has been on a personal journey with Daniel Bryan, and from the 1,000's of messages I've read, not a single member of that Universe will feel that their journey is complete without Daniel getting a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. PLEASE forget about the idea of Daniel Bryan vs Triple H, or Daniel Bryan vs Kane at Mania. They are both potentially great match-ups at a later time - but not for Mania. There are times when you really do need to give the people what they want...and this is one of them."

Won't having the fans shit all over the batista/orton match end up hurting WWE Network sales? You give the fans what they want and see the roof come off the dome with him holding the belts and one would think Network buys would be extremely higher than the alternative no bryan match.

You guys are funny. Bryan will not be champion after Mania is over. Why am I the only one who can see this? I'm under no such Daniels-related delusions.

I just can't wrap my head around the E's thinking. They just HAVE to be working us. I can't imagine they're dumb enough to let CM Punk, and dumb enough to continue to piss off such a large percentage of their audience. (In regard to both Bryan & Punk) In normal times - maybe, but Punk would be quite a name to start the new Slapnuts promotion around.

Even if CM Punk had 100% legitimate reasons to be disgruntled, there's no way he can do what he did and then be "rewarded" with WWE doing anything that remotely looks like his actions were ultimately the reason they did anything at all. Just because they're they only game in town doesn't mean they want to give the boys the impression that they have any ability to pull a ballbaby act, take their ball and go home, and then be treated like nothing ever happened.

I'm surprised that if Punk leaving is legit, WWE wouldn't suspend him and withhold money from his contract and merch sales like they did with Austin.*
*The above was shamelessly stolen from Meltzer.

It won't work for everyone though. Ziggler or Sandow pull this, buh bye. Maybe 3 or 4 guys in the lockerroom can do this and Punk being one of them. It worked for contract negotiations 3 years ago when he did it. Vince is all about $$$ and will put his ego aside to make a deal. Can't say the same for his enormous nostril'd son in law.

Speaking of Ziggler and Sandow.....sickens me that those 2 are stranded backstage. Sandow doesn't get the crowd going a ton but Ziggler sure as hell does. I love them both.
