I haven’t watched a second of it tonight (will probably watch some tomorrow morning), ive also barely paid any attention to NXT the last few months.
Although I saw on Twitter, it’s pretty cool two girls who wrestled on AEW Dark during the Daily’s Place era are now Womens Tag Champs

I like Hayes, Bron & Waller as future main roster studs for sure. Pretty Deadly is hysterical and should do well as long as they aren’t primarily portrayed as morons.

Watching Takeover now.
Opener was a PWG match that was fucking great. Dijak’s finger was gnarly.
Womens Tag was very “make sure to be in the right position” feel. There were a cool flippy moments with Kacy, but this match was very blah. I enjoy this story of James corrupting the virgin dude, but man is the acting just terrible (the celebration backstage was brutal).
Crews & Hayes was an enjoyable match work wise and I understand having Hayes win 2 straight with him being next for Bron, but the crowd was dead for the finish. 2 out of 3 falls, they’re anticipating a third fall, so the finish was flat. Daba Kato is back and we’ll see if he can rehab from the Commander Azeez gimmick. Crews was booked as a crash test dummy though.
Just starting the 4 way tag. Booker saying Pretty Deadly passes the airport test, but says “who are they? I don’t know, but they look good.”

Not sure how she is in the ring at only 19, but Thea Hail the perfect spazzy cheerleader. Chase U oddly work great and could be tag champs if continued to be pushed right. Have them win it at Mania weekend. Pop would be huge.
Gallus winning was unexpected, but happy they pinned Woods. This feels like a short reign though.
Pretty Deadly need to be on the main roster.
Fun match, wasn’t blow away, but a spot fest match and everyone hit their cues and moments perfect. Crowd loved Chase U as the match went on.
I do want to say, Booker T is atrocious as commentator, I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened, he was fine before. He’s so over the top trying to be loud and heelish. Just not clicking.

Womens Triple Threat was a TV match without a commercial. Just didn’t feel like a Takeover match. We knew who would win. Jacy & Gigi are good characters, but just don’t come across as all that good of wrestlers. Rok-C is a star though.
Why did we need another table spot after the previous match had one? Felt like an unnecessary way to eliminate Gigi, but the crowd popped, so whatever.

Main event was odd to me. I didn’t think they needed the cage (I know the ring “broke” in their last match), but this wasn’t like some blood feud that needed this. Also the only pins or submissions was dumb. Have a way for the heel to win by escaping. At least give him a shot. I do like Waller though, he’s very good. The match itself was solid stuff.
Bron yelling “so you want to talk trash about me on social media” was comically bad through.
Melo & Bron is the only way to go for Mania Takeover. I guess I’d have Bron retain and go to the main roster undefeated, but both guys (with Waller as well) need to be on the main roster.
Overall show grade 7/10.

Wait, they had Gargano come back to NXT last week and this week they did the home invasion angle with Waller attacking Gargano at his home in front of Candice and his kid? So, let’s just scrap the whole building of a feud and go straight to home invasion. Interesting.
Also they’re doing the HBK 96 concussion angle with Roxanne and she’s forfeiting the title and they’re doing a ladder match for the vacant womens title.
If you couldn’t tell Shawn was booking this, there’s your giveaway.
I wish I cared more about NXT aside from what pops up on my Twitter.

It feels like Pretty Deadly has lost every match in the last six months and was still completely believable as competition for your world champion and top contender (Breakker and Hayes). That's how you do it.
