I want to thank the guys here for your professionalism, humanity and decency in not making jokes, mocking people or making ill-informed comments about the French, Arabs, Islam or anything else following the tragedy in Paris yesterday. In times of tragedy, some people really show their ass and show the world whether they are decent people or meathead idiots. The number of people who post ignorant, inflammatory and ridiculous things on message boards following tragedies is truly stunning. Our world seems to be getting dumber and moving toward idiocracy more and more all the time. Just read certain message boards.
Thanks to all of you for not being that kind of person.

I find some of the ignorance around it appalling. Sometimes it best to just let the idiots of the world out themselves and steer clear of them.

I like to think that I pretty much set the standard around here for decency and goodwill and I'm proud to see others follow suit.

Perfect waved goodbye to me early in life, depending on when you determine life starting. That said, I really wish it wasn't so easy for everyone to have a voice these days. The average horrible social media thought used to be saved for family parties. Maybe a letter to the editor. Luckily we all have a choice. Sometimes I'll read comments under newspaper articles, if only to get an ego boost. But it's frightening to see what exists.

Good point Drop In. Some people think they have all the answers and just have to share them with the world. It is amazing how many people think they have the answers to problems that have plagued the world for centuries.
I used to have all the answers to the big world problems too when I was young. Fortunately, we didn't have social media then because I probably would have said some ignorant and shameful stuff too. Now I don't have many answers. I mostly have just the questions.

I wouldn't want to see my social media thoughts back in the day. I still have a few papers, etc. from the era. They seem to roll with my current mentality. However, collected thoughts can be different from "what was I thinking right this second at age twenty" in the grand scheme.

I'm not gonna lie. Social Media should be taken away from me.

I used to be engaged with current events. I've increasingly become numb and just focus on things I enjoy like trying to figure out which position Rodgers and Kevin did to worsen the calf.

I'm just glad they're happy. There's more important things in life than the Packers winning the Super Bowl and bringing home the beloved and cherished Lombardi Trophy.
