My Mom is going to be able to say all of her VHS recordings of Oprah were Presidential research.

My wife asked me if I would vote for the Rock because I love him in Ballers. I said probably not, and I don't what he stands for.
I am simply amazed that in a country with so many highly thoughtful, intelligent and well educated people, that we continue to get flunkies running for office. I thought a guy like Ted Cruz with that solid background would be great, and then he becomes some warped right wing populist.

The real smart people know that being President is for suckers.
Being in the background making real decisions is where it's at.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's fucking nuts to even say I'd vote for her, but if our current president wasn't a shitty reality star, then this wouldn't even be a consideration.
1000% agree that neither should be president, then again, neither should our current one.
I would've voted for objects instead of Trump to be president.
I think people (myself included, haha) just heard a pretty powerful speech last night & thought, shit, we haven't heard one of these speeches in a while, fuck it, Oprah 2020 motherfuckers!

I haven't looked too far into it but did Trump actually do something kinda normal today?

He wants more people from Norway to come here not "shithole countries" like Haiti & Africa.
I'd be shocked at comments like that if our president wasn't already a giant piece of shit to begin with.

I am really sick of the entire tone in DC, and Trump is absolutely the biggest part of the problem. But let's be honest, since the advent of Rush/Fox News/Breitbart and their counter reaction on the left, we're just seeing the use of language and level of attacks that really serve no purpose.
See even if one were to believe we should adopt a Canadian style merit (point) based immigration system, there is way to talk about that without such nasty language. It has the same outcome, meaning you take in immigrants based on skills that are needed in the country. So yeah, probably not a lot of Haitians being let in. But instead, you use hurtful language that poisons the waters for an immigration system that needs major fixes and a bipartisan solution.

Well you won't catch me defending what is going on with "my" party. I simply have small government and free market beliefs. I frankly don't know what, if anything, these fools stand for anymore.

When we're being honest with ourselves, I think most people are worried about money. And no matter how much or little you have, you always want more.
"You just want to make a profit off me!" "Well, yeah, I want to get paid for working."
But I know what you mean.

Republicans have a much better message. Less government and more money for you.
Democrats run basically only on identity politics, and have been nearly destroyed for it.

All this Stormy Daniels stuff is oddly very fitting for this guy.
If politics weren't so hostile & batshit crazy (more so than usual it seems), I bet something would've been done by now. I am honestly surprised Pence hasn't taken over yet.
Spanked with a Forbes magazine with his family on the cover?
That sounds like a random Mad-Lib.

I hate everything today. I DVR'd CNN to see my guy Jason Kander. Not only did he sound like a political stooge, "Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump," but I see a commercial for a CNN special. "Trump's First Year: Reign of Chaos!" or "Trump: Watch this or You'll Die!" Some garbage. Sad.

It is a shame that our government functions like this. The most basic function of Congress is the authorization of spending. Yet they run the government on a series of continuing resolutions, most done at the last minute.
“Hey honey, the mortgage is due tomorrow, so let’s Uber drive all night to pay for it.”
No planning. No prioritization. Endless piles of debt and unfunded entitlement programs. And creaking infrastructure among many societal problems- healthcare, schools, etc.

On Bill Maher, Michael Wolff basically just said Trump is currently sleeping with Hope Hicks if you read between the lines. Probably means book sales are slowing and Trump is probably currently sleeping with Hope Hicks.

This country is run with such short term thinking. Again, it's the "politics as sport" problem. There is no compromise and working together anymore. That's a sign of weakness.
