Starting a thread for this show now that it's really picked up over the last month. Didn't want to just post this in the Smackdown thread.
Tonight's show saw Buddy Murphy make his debut defeating Ariya Daivari with a pumphandle Angle Slam combo.
Mustafa Ali advanced over Jack Gallagher with a 054 (reverse 450) splash. It was an excellent story told with Gallagher (in new green gear, the suit is gone) working the arm & Ali almost killed himself in a bad botched dive to the floor, but he recovered & crowd didn't shit on it luckily. At one point Gallagher shoved Ali off the top & Ali did a trust fall from the top back onto the barricade, which was scary awesome. They were chanting Rusev Day to start, but started really getting into it towards the end. Happy they got them all to turn around.
So like I said in the other thread the remaining guys involved are...
Next week... Cedric Alexander vs TJP Roderick Strong vs Kalisto
2 weeks... Mustafa Ali vs Buddy Murphy Drew Gulak vs Mark Andrews
Seriously guys, start watching this show. It's great wrestling, storytelling & they are all wrestling for a purpose. Give it another chance if you bailed (or just haven't watched it at all).

Here's the trust fall into the barricade I talked about.
Also Murphy's finish is really cool looking.

Cedric beat TJP in a pretty decent match.

Cedric advances over TJP in a really strong quarterfinal match. This was more mat based than the rest of the tournament, which is a good thing. Crowd seemed quiet, but interested. Picked up toward the end.
TJP worked the leg, then when Cedric did a springboard, he tweeked the leg. Storytelling, I dig it. Only problem is Cedric didn't consistently sell it throughout the rest of the match, despite TJP having the leg bar on multiple times.
Cedric wins with a lumbar check, which does damage to the leg, but he didn't sell it. Didn't like that. It's the little things.

I think Roddy was just murdered by Kalisto.

RODDY ADVANCES OVER KALISTO!!
Roddy beat the fuck out of Kalisto for like 90% of the match with backbreakers and suplexes aplenty. Kalisto did lucha things to turn the tables, but Roddy hit an Angle Slam to cut him off.
Roddy tried for a Tiger Driver but Kalisto barely turned it into a Code Red for 2.
Roddy looked for a body slam off the top, but Kalisto rolled through in mid air & Roddy slammed down on his shoulder hard (hope he's not legit hurt), but Roddy hit the End of Heartache to win it!!

Drew Gulak vs Mark Andrews and Buddy Murphy vs Mustafa Ali next week.
Cedric vs Roddy in the semis should be bonkers. Winner goes to Mania. I'm guessing Cedric, though I hope it's Roddy.

Here's what Peeps & I referenced last night to Roddy almost messing up his arm badly.
Luckily he bounced back quickly & hit a brutal End of Heartache for the win

Good for Ali. Not yelling, not doing a stupid dance, not reading from a script. Just going out there & doing his own thing.
Hell of a promo.
Murphy should cut a promo holding a picture of Alexa saying "I'm engaged to her and you aren't. Be jealous." End of promo.

WWE will be instituting a new championship belt after Wrestlemania season ends, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.
While Wrestlemania 34 will feature the tournament final crowning a new Cruiserweight champion, there are already plans in the works to create a Cruiserweight Tag Team championship for the 205 Live brand. The belts would give WWE a third set of Tag Team champions and bring forth the first Cruiserweight Tag Team championship seen nationally in the United States since the demise of WCW in 2001.
Good idea honestly. With the tournament wrapping soon, the rest of the roster needs something to do and random feuds centered around nothing we've seen is pretty damn boring. Plus tag titles will let them continue to focus on wrestling.

Drew advances with the Dragon Sleeper.
Solid match but the crowd seems dead.

Dusty Classic starts tomorrow.

Dig they're slowly establishing tag teams by squashing jobbers instead of named guys on the roster already.
I'll watch Mandrews vs Gulak after Ali/Murphy, but this crowd does seems quiet. Then again its Green Bay, so I'm not surprised.

Wow that DDT by Ali!

Holy shit Murphy sells the shit out of moves like a face buster and that reverse rana by Ali, fucking planted him.
Also that 450 to the arm was sick.
Really fun match thus far.

Ali advances due to STORYTELLING!!
I loved it! Ali hit that 450 to the arm early and it came back and cost Murphy at the end.
Fantastic storytelling.
Cedric vs Roddy and Gulak vs Ali. Winners go to Mania.
As much as I love Gulak, I really hope Ali advances to Mania. I think Cedric beats Roddy since it's been Cedric's to lose for a while now. He was going to beat Enzo for it, wasn't he?

Cedric survives a fucking battle. Match of the tournament for me so far. Really wish Roddy would've won, but seeing he's already got a Takeover match, I wasn't expecting it.
Plus Cedric was pretty much the chosen one to beat Enzo originally, so I assume plans hadn't changed.
Mustafa Ali vs Drew Gulak next week to determine who faces Cedric at Mania. Really like Gulak, but Ali would make it more of a high flying match, which is should be at Mania.

Smart to go with Ali. While Gulak is fantastic, in order to really set the crowd on fire at Mania (hopefully), they need high flyer vs high flyer.
Hope it's on the main card. They deserve to not have to go on during the sunlight and when 1/2 the fans are waiting to get in.

Last nights show was pretty strong wrestling wise.
Mandrews vs Tony Nese was pretty good, but the main event was a 4 way with Kalisto vs TJP vs Tozawa vs Buddy Murphy and that was excellent.
Give it a watch.
