WISN 12 News has learned 59-year-old Steve "The Homer" True was struck by an apparent drunken driver just before 10 a.m.
The radio talk show host and Marquette basketball play-by-play man was in critical condition at Froedtert Hospital on Wednesday night, with what WISN 12 News was told is a serious head injury.
Shattered glass and car parts remained at the scene of the crash at Fond du Lac and Hampton avenues.
Milwaukee police told WISN 12 News True's car had the green light but was T-boned in the intersection when another car ran the red light.
That driver, a 44-year-old man, is suspected of driving while impaired and was taken to an area hospital for a blood test. He was later arrested, accused of intoxicated use of a motor vehicle causing great bodily harm.
True called the Marquette-Grambling game Tuesday night. He has been the voice of Marquette men's basketball for more than 20 years. WISN 12 News asked the university for comment but was told it's not ready to say anything yet.

I was lying about nothing, that was a shit show yesterday. I turned it over to Homer and just heard Mitch, didn't hear anything about the accident. Matter of fact the first I heard of it was coming into work this morning. Thoughts and prayers indeed for Homer and his family. Doesn't sound real good right now as he is in critical condition with a head injury.
