Nothing exciting. I just heard him while I was checking on noises coming from the garage. I guess he has always done this but it's starting to REALLY piss me off.

KS....there was a lot of gutter trash hanging out near my local speedway the other night. I think you need your old job back and you need to get down here and clean that shit up. They are scaring away all the civilized people. .......and by near I mean they were on the damn doorstep Jay and Silent Bob style.

I wouldn't have put up with that nonsense. They wouldn't have been hanging out there by the time I finished the evaluation, I promise you that.

You really need to write these fools up. There are 3 locations and all are shithole from the gutter trash element. I am pretty sure they sling heroin there outside the door. I thought you said you covered Ohio. If you did and were down in the south eastern portion of the state you know what I am talking about.

I got to listen to a few hours of the mid day show while driving because as always nothing else comes in between dayton and gary. Mannelly was really good. His interview questions were thoughtful and interesting. He had some q's for Shark regarding bars he hung out at while at ND. His partner of course is the dipshit that didn't know he played football at ND.....somehow. His q's for Konerko were also good. Both guys seemed very comfortable opening up to him and giving good responses. Grimace was completely dominated by him and its his 2nd week. I can't believe some of the awful things he did and asked these guys. Playing fake show titles with Konerko's name in it after he said he doesn't listen to sports talk whatsoever was lame. Should have shitcanned that idea before it every got legs. Then when talking to Shark he gets way way too deep asking him about contract negotiations, and then him about being a future free agent and blowing out his arm before signing a new deal. Shark handled those terrible questions pretty well but that is the kind of shit that gets you no future guests.
It was awesome during their football pick segment when Mannelly said "We" mockingly and repeatedly in grimaces face. The producers all seemed to love it. Grimace also made everyone in the studio and the audience uncomfortable by joking about Mannelly's size and then referencing standing next to him at the urinal.
Somehow this was listenable because Mannelly was good and it was fun to listen to him start to come out from under the guiding hand of Grimace. You can tell he doesn't agree with a lot of what Grimace does and says but he rolls with it because he is the new guy. As he gets more comfortable he is going to disagree with him and hang him out to dry. The honeymoon or observation/learning phase is not going to last forever and it is going to be glorious when he turns on him.

Bernstein: Ask Tillman if he can sleep yet. I saw because of the surgery he's unable to sleep because of the arm cast.
Laurence: Well, he's also got four kids under seven.
Bernstein: Unlike most NFL players, they all live in his house too.
Hahahahahaha.

Apparently Gordon Wittenmyer fired official shots at Bernstein today on Mully and Hanley. Talk about the worst heel vs heel feud of all time. I picture someone locking them in a room, and not letting them leave until someone is unconscious.
Bernstein: "Can we come out now?"
Guy at Door: "Anyone dead yet?"
Bernstein: "No?"
Guy at Door: "Well, I guess the answer is no. Keep fighting!"

I hate Wittenmeyer. He 1000% has an agenda. And it hurts me but I'm on his side with this one.

I knew nobody was winning this slap fight. However, I do take certain interest in Bernstein calling out Gordon for doing a wrestling bit. First, Bernstein is 100% correct. The agenda isn't only obvious, but it's what makes Wittenmeyer look so silly. He has to go out of his way to support his narrative and go stronger.
So someone takes a story or personal issue, and goes over the top with rhetoric. Almost to the point it's laughable and to be ignored. However, it creates a segment of people who will listen or read JUST to hate it. In turn, creating a larger amount of readers or listeners. Does that sound like anyone to you BERNSTEIN?!?!?!
Dan Bernstein, who are you crapping?

I'm lost in this whole deal. I think Wittenmeyer could take Bernstein. He definitely has the fire and passion. I think it would start with Wittenmeyer hitting Bernstein like Dean Pritchard slaps Frank the Tank in Old School. Bernstein would go straight for a nut shot, but Gordon would start biting his right shoulder. At this point, Dan would start talking about filing a lawsuit and the whole thing would be over.

I watched Kaplan's show tonight. While I agreed with Spiegel during the Cubs conversation, my goodness did he need to get punched in his smug face.

I saw it as well or at least a few minutes and he was at his worst as far as smug and smarm and looking like a 600 lb matt garza. He was being such a dick to that other guy I did not recognize.

Spiegel, Mannelly, Shep, and Jay do a football bet every week where the winner gets to pick the bumper music. Shep won this week, and he's chosen Attitude Era entrance themes. It's glorious. Not everyday you hear the Val Venis music coming back from a break.

No more sports minutes from John Feinstein. He's been future endeavored. What was he fired for? John Feinstein this morning told a DC radio station that CBS Sports Radio fired him as host of his national radio show, "The John Feinstein Show." It is not clear when his last show will be. During an appearance on WJFK-AM's "The Junkies" morning show, Feinstein said that CBS Sports management did not like the direction that he was taking the show. "They didn't like the stories I told (on-air)," Feinstein said. CBS Sports Radio launched "The John Feinstein Show" in January '13 to anchor its late morning block of national programming (9:00am-12:00pm ET). Feinstein today on the program said he first realized that his job was in jeopardy a few months ago when a CBS Sports Radio exec told him that his stories slowed the program down too much. CBS Sports Radio was not yet available to comment this morning.

Chicago radio veteran Mitch Rosen, longtime program chief of CBS Radio sports/talk WSCR AM 670, is adding oversight of album adult alternative WXRT FM 93.1 to his duties. Rosen’s promotion to operations director for the Score and WXRT was announced Monday by Rod Zimmerman, senior vice president and market manager of CBS Radio Chicago. “The two stations have a long history of working together and Mitch’s organizational skills, management style and sales/NTR [non-traditional revenue] focus will help grow the great brand that is ’XRT,” Zimmerman told staffers in a memo. Norm Winer, vice president of adult rock programming for CBS Radio, continues as program director of WXRT, the post he has held since 1979. The move followed last week’s announcement of two key departures from WXRT — the retirement of John Farneda as operations manager and music director, and the resignation of Kristin Klimas as director of marketing and promotions. Zimmerman said the positions of music director and marketing director would be filled. Rosen, 48, said he was honored to oversee both stations, adding: “To be working on a day-to-day basis with these two iconic Chicago brands is something a radio programmer like myself could only dream about. I look forward to working with all departments at XRT and with all of the platforms both digitally and over the air. I’m also excited to be working with Norm, who is a radio legend. The challenge ahead is exciting for me.” A Chicago native, Rosen began his career at Tribune Media news/talk WGN AM 720 as producer for late-night radio king “Chicago Eddie” Schwartz in 1988. He followed Schwartz to the former WLUP AM in 1992, and later became program director of ESPN sports/talk WMVP AM 1000. He has been program director of the Score since 2005. Under Rosen, the Score has remained dominant in its format. In the latest Nielsen Audio survey, the station ranked third among men between 25 and 54 with a 4.4 percent share. Here is the text of Zimmerman’s memo to the staff: I’m pleased to announce Mitch Rosen has been named Operations Director for WSCR and WXRT. Mitch will now oversee the Programing Departments for both stations. The two stations have a long history of working together and Mitch’s organizational skills, management style and sales/NTR focus will help grow the great brand that is ’XRT. Norm remains the Program Director responsible for all on-air elements and the brand development, while Mitch will concentrate on the Marketing, NTR and overall administrative side of operations. Norm is currently working to replace Music Director John Farneda. While we look to replace Kristin as Marketing Director, that job will become more NTR in nature and will report to both Mitch and NTR Director, Megan Jones. Mitch and I will be in the ‘XRT Sales Meeting tomorrow morning to discuss more specifics of how this new team will operate. We all look forward to the continued success of Chicago’s Finest Rock, WXRT! www.robertfeder.com/2014/11/17/scores-mitch-rosen-doubles-up-with-xrt/
