I saw it Friday night. The guy who played Solo must be a Leonardo DiCaprio fan because he had so many of DiCaprio's mannerisms.
Overall, I liked the movie. I thought the Lando actor was very good especially his voice. The story was pretty easy and fun. It filled in the back stories of stuff that was referenced in the earlier movies. I put it at 2.5 stars.

I enjoyed Game Night for what it was, a silly comedy. I kind of like that creepy cop neighbor. He was the Star Ship Captain in that terrific Black Mirror episode.

Hah, that's kind of creepy. It's like the kid is being shy, and then some demonic presence takes over and he breaks into form. The look on this face is disturbing.

I thought the final scene was just strange, and they have continued the weirdness with the new season. Just wholesale slaughtering of everything. I would prefer something with more nuance instead of mass chaos and death.
When I first starting watching the show, I guess I figured it would be more guest focused. It turned out to have this odd, difficult to figure timeline and became host focused. That's fine, it just went down a path I didn't expect nor particularly like. Some of the stuff really makes you suspend belief.

Hah. My wife gives me crap because I am really picky, especially with movies. I loved the entire concept of Westworld, but I thought the ending got weird. I caught 45 minutes of season 2, episode 1. Seems ok, but the fresh excitement of Season 1 is long gone. I'll be watching but just not crazy about the entire concept.
I just finished Casa de Papel (Bank Heist). I thought it was silly to have a second season, but the show ending was good enough to justify it.

Sorry I missed the original post about buying a house above. The Chicago and midwest market is very disconnected from what has gone on across large parts of the U.S. The prices in Cali, DC, Seattle, and Denver are crazy. The Chicago market, except in pockets, is still reasonably valued.
I faced this decision in 2004 when I knew the market was wildly inflated. While a house is an investment, shelter is a basic human necessity. So if you are going to consider buying, a few suggestions:
1) Stay well within your means, 2) Buy something that you would want to stay in regardless of where the market is headed (this was huge for me in 2004. I am still there). 3) Interest rates matter a lot in terms of your payment, but don't make that a decision driver. 4) The economy is cyclical as noted above, and people always forget that when the market is at records and unemployment is low.
I wouldn't buy now in some of the crazy overpriced places in Chicago like Oak Park, Elmhurst, and better northside neighborhoods. But there are plenty with reasonably priced housing.

I figured this show would be a lay up for me. I watched about 30 minutes and didn't have much interest. I suspect I need to give it more time. But that ship has sailed....
You guys enjoy.

I was supposed to go on March 19th. I was a tad worried because we were leaving for vacation that next Saturday, so presumably, I really wouldn't be able to serve on a jury if the trial was soon. Well as luck would have it, Kane County has you call or look online the business night before, Friday in this case. They said they didn't need me that Monday but to check back against after 5:00 PM on Monday. I checked on Monday, and it said they didn't need me and that my service was complete.

Well we're back to canceled baseball games. This whole week might get tanked. We were able to get all five in for our Spring Break trip in Florida last week. We had only one minor delay due to rain. Otherwise, it was close to ideal baseball weather with pristine fields.

Trump, you are seriously devoid of any type of economic common sense. The way you are playing this high stakes tariff game makes it clear you do not understand how economics work. The market disruption is directly caused by the degree of uncertainty you have injected into the cost of doing business.

It was Kirkland Hiawatha. We played some much better competition over the weekend and lost three one run games all because of some poor infield defense. But on balance, we have a very competitive team.

It was great to have baseball back. A chilly 49 degrees with DeKalb County winds coming right in our faces. We scored eight runs before the other team recorded an out. We slaughtered them 14-0 in five innings (10 after five rules). There wasn't a kid on other team that I would have put on our team. I was pleased to see that we have a solid group of seniors. My son is just a sophomore, but he starts at first and bats fifth. Our top five pitchers each got one inning of work.
God I love baseball!

Well they can take 3 on 3 hockey and shootouts and dump those in the NHL. I actually want to go back to ties. I hate that a game can be three points in hockey. I punch the button for college football overtimes too. It can take an hour or more on what is already a long game.

Supposedly, we are having our first high school game today. They tanked yesterday's because of the cold weather. It is a tad nicer today. Definitely excited to see how an entire off season of work and training expresses itself on the field. My son is supposed to get one inning of work on the mound but otherwise will man first base (lefty). He is due to start Friday.

Goff was perfect in that producer role. He is also good when they have him on that Comcast (or NBC now) sports show with Kap. But B&G just didn't work. Now it is fair for him to say, "I talk about what I want", but I also listen to what I want. And talking about social issues and your kid every day just doesn't make for good sports talk radio. I sincerely want to hear what the host think about local sports happening. I also enjoy guy talk whether that be about drinking gambling and even a little music (I am not much of a music guy).
I don't wish him ill will. But I would suggest that he makes his future show(s) fun and an easy listen.

I had been doing Spotfiy for a while now. This will finally get me to tune back in. I gave Goff/Bernsie a fair shake. I don't need non-stop kid talk. And way too much national NBA and SJW stuff. I like M&H. It's hard to believe but my office radio is stuck on ESPN 100 even for the morning show. Now it will move back to the left.

I am finding the hang wringing over the steel tariffs quite amusing. For years I have argued for free trade, TPP and the like, and usually folks are against free trade. But it is fun to see the media attack these tariffs (rightly so) when most folks running for office and most media tend to bash China and other exporters for selling us low cost goods. Well of course if you enact tariffs consumer prices will rise. That is what I have been saying for years!
Tariffs are a sales tax. Nothing more.

I stepped on the scale at 166 pounds on Saturday. Been targeting below 170. I used to be close to 200 and got down to 160. I was 165ish in high school, so it’s a good weight as a mid forties dude.
