I might be alone on interest in this, but its a former part of my trade. Does anyone know why the "E" doesn't have a major beer partner? This baffles me as its an easy $25-$60M deal. This would make up for their $20M in cuts to production, plus some. I've often thought whoever is in chagre of corporate partnership sales there either does a terrible overall job or has his/her hands severely tied.

A quick search revealed this but I'm not sure of it's reliability and/or whatever became of it:

They ran an infomercial for Twisted Tea a month ago with Santino and Adam Rose.
It's a start.

It would probably be closer to that $25M mark. Here's the thing, we've been fed a bunch of bull in regards to the PG era being better for corporate sponsorships. Do you know what that has translated for them? Sports Business Journal reported the following last year , "WWE reports that sponsorship revenue was $7.4 million in 2008 and now is more than $20 million annually." Do you guys know how terrible that actualyl is for a popular and GLOBAL brand? Its incredibly bad. So bad. I'm shocked at how low that number is. Let me put it this way. I could generate $5M for a lesser professional sports team in the Chicagoland area playing their games in Rosemont. Think about that for a second. Now, part of that is Vince protects his show to not be filled with sponsored events and ads during the event. But really, that was in the past. Think about what Vince and Co have done since the attitude era.
1. Commercials are now a regular part of the PPV event. 2. They are doing shameless segments with sponsored brands being the center attraction (think Sandow backstage last week). 3. Guest host spots to promote TV, Movies and other media.
Interestingly enough, one of the things that have kind of gone to the waste side is title sponsorships. PPV events used to always have a title sponsorship. Watch those shows from 98-02. Tons of PPV's with sponsors names attached. It happens from time to time now, but not nearly as much.
One thing that I believe a huge host of fans want back is the idea of getting lost in the moment when watching the live events. I'm actually not opposed to throwing a beer sponsor or some other major, credible brand's logo somewhere in the ring. You get a UFC/Boxing feel as this is legit and this means something. I can definitely see the marks hating any ad space on the mat.
