Huge fire close to the office. It's close to El Jardin on Clark (large one as the small one sold or went out of business). Pretty crazy stuff these fires.
Pretty sure it was a bar on floor 1 with two levels of apts above.
10 - 12 pumpers. They are using a fire hydrant over 100 yards away. Traffic blocked all over the place. Crazy people viewing crazy stuff.
Good times. Avoid fires people.

Beni on the scene here. The car is trapped by hoses and fire trucks previously not seen. Talked to several of Chicago's finest fire fighters and was informed they will be pumping water for another two hours. good times

Do we know what bar it is/was yet?

They blocked foot traffic off about a block up and down from the fire. I visited the back of the scene where they have 3 hoses throwing water at and into the building. 1 hose run through the building next door and a ladder truck in front. Impressive amount of water. Andy Garcia (whom I know from a previous life) was there for channel 7 ABC news.
The bar in question would be Roadhouse I believe. Relatively new. Never saw a lot of people in it. If it is not that bar it is the building just North of that. It's amazing they let Redline cars keep going by. The back of the building is 15 feet away from the train line.

If the building was a bar...insurance money. Been a really bad year for that type of business that wasn't closer to the park.

#Truth (sorry)
I don't believe anyone that we know of is/was hurt, so that is a good thing.

Another random thought. I couldn't believe how many people had sophisticated cameras and were out there snapping picks. Whole lotta tripods sitting around on serious zoom lenses. No way all of them were press types. I snapped a celly or two. Don't have that kind of discretionary income to be buying a camera for the safari hunt or random act of fire that happens my way.

I live across the street. Right next door to Houndstooth. I went to a wake in western burbs and decided staying at my parents house for the night would be easier than going over to the shit show over there.

Probably a good call. Whole lot of smoke blew your way. Hopefully you don't have any issues with that.
Houndstooth used to be Texas Star Fajita Bar. Had eye sex with the woman I should have married and never met in that place. beni was such a dumbass. #oldmanmemories

I always enjoyed the posts of a Beni Hanna elsewhere, but I feel I'm getting more here. If you'll pardon the expression?

I don't believe I have ever been this pissed off at something so stupid. Trying to create a damned password for the last 20 minutes. yahoo keeps telling me it's weak, or invalid. I have no freaking idea how to create a password that is both valid and not weak. UnRe3l

Just do a name, a birthdate, and a letter. Frank022479a I added to this and still got too weak. They are screwing with me. The first password that was accepted was 11 characters with like a $ and a ^. Two capital letters. I used a password the old man created for himself for a national laboratory, meaning completely randomized with some level of something that could be remembered mentally. No dice. Bullshit.

I just watched a stray kitten stare into my eyes as my girlfriends car drove over it on the highway...came over a hill at 70 and there it was...guessing it was already injured but yeah...a sickening thump.
