You must make a pick against the spread for every bowl game. If you do not make a pick I'll give you the "home" team. Winner receives a $50 dollars. If the winner is "Underdog" or "Favorite" I'll donate the money to our next board outing fund.
Picks must be submitted before kickoff of the game. I will update the lines on the 17th, 24th and 31st and Jan 11th to account for line movements. The spread reflects the line for the "home" team |

This is my first look at the bowl matchups. The new bowls are a hoot.
Iowa-Tennessee always gets my interest, but in the Tax Slayer bowl? That's probably right up the alley of the Vol nation and the Iowa tea party rednecks...kill the tax man? Or kill all taxes? There is something north and south can agree on.
The Royal Purple bowl? WTF is that? Does Prince do the halftime show?
The Boca Raton bowl? Milfs on parade in that one? Sponsored by plastic surgeons?
The Bahamas bowl? Seriously? See if I were a college coach with a team headed for a 2nd rate bowl, give me Hawaii or the Bahamas over Mobile, New Mexico, Dallas or Tampa.
The Bitcoin bowl? What is that, entirely virtual with the game played on a video game or something?
The Quick Lane bowl? Rutgers and North Carolina are in it. Can we make it really quick and shorten the game to 5 minute quarters since most people other than Rutgers and UNC fans won't care anyway?
The Birmingham Bowl? That is when we know the bowls have jumped the shark. When Birmingham not only gets one, but names it this.

Please include number from the spreadsheet at the time of your pick. Otherwise, I'll just use the number of the current spreadsheet.

Arkansas vs Texas. Awesome. Too bad the teams aren't better, but both teams are about 10 points better than they were at the start of the season.
What a great old rivalry. 45 years ago, they played in the "Game of the Century". I might be the only one on the board old enough to remember it. That was in the era when the whole nation was watching the same games on Saturday.
Some people think that Oklahoma-Nebraska or Ohio State-Michigan were the best rivalries of that era. This one was right there.

Yes, I'm going to repost updated lines the 24th, 31st and 11th using betonline.ag (I'll ignore vig). You can just post them in this thread. I'll use the honor system for the line when a pick is made if there was movement. Most correct ATS wins. I'm using Underdog and Favorite as a proxy to see if we're any better. |
