The tweets against Punk are rolling in quick. I've seen Nate Diaz asking why, and Ben Askren talking shit, which I can understand coming from him. Dude is a champ and White keeps ignoring him.

This is a bit surprising given his recent comments about his health. I'm thinking more than just a little bit of it is a big FUCK YOU to Vince.
But it's a great move. They'll protect him. And thus far, unless I'm missing a few, it has turned out very well for ex-wrestlers:
Brock - Broke Takers streak. Heavyweight Champion. Gets to sit at home and make like what from the E this year? $5-10 million or so?
Batista - Comes back to the E and would've won the Main Event at Mania if the fans wouldn't have shat on that entire angle. Is now a pretty damn legit big box office star.
Lashley - Comes back to TNA and is crowned their champion.

Wonder is they will package a Punk fight, with a Brock fight. Ariel will have a interview with Punk on FoxSports1 on the post fight show.

Any good reason to not root for Punk in UFC? Again, I don't see it. But it will definitely draw. I feel like we all win if he's successful.

I hate that he left wrestling because I'm a huge fan of his...or was in wrestling I guess. The dude just wants to be happy and he wants to try his hand at this so more power to him.
Dana White knows what he's doing by the way. Whatever PPV he's on will be a big one and probably do a million buys at least. Just the money they make off the ppv buys his first fight will make it worth it for him to bring Punk in.

Just watched the 20min interview Ariel did with him last night. The excitement he is showing is so cool. Really hope that he is decent at this. I don't think he will ever be a title contender, but if he can put on entertaining fights that will be great. Kind of cool that so many big fight camps are reaching out to him. ATT reached out while celebrating Lawler's win. DC wants him at AKA. Duke reached out to him as well, which makes the most sense, since they are up Wisconsin, only 90 min away.

Daniel Cormier is a HUGE wrestling fan. He was a guest on SCSA podcast back in January I believe.

Seeing him decked out in a suit, looking like a snazzy motherfucker talking to Joe Rogan was a pretty great moment.
Dana said he wouldn't fight anyone out of his record or something like that. So fighters calling him out, like Bisping constantly on the post show (let's face it, Bisping is just looking to get a win) saying he's more than willing to welcome him to the UFC. Diaz talking shit doesn't surprise me. Everyone in that camp talks shit.
It'll be interesting to see where he trains. He said last night he's not going to fight until he's ready, good for him for wanting to put in the time. Glad this isn't going to be some freak show like the James Toney/Randy Couture debacle.
It takes longer than 6 months to develop into a fighter. But I'm really wondering who they'd pair him with. It also said Multi-Fight deal, so assuming he doesn't shit the bed in his debut, he'll have 2 fights I bet. I really rooting for him though.

6 months to develop into a fighter? you underestimate CP MUNK! he's been secretly training on the side for YEARS. when you don't have room for alcohol, drugs, and evidently Lita in your life you have plenty of time to focus on THE REAL COMBAT SPORT/S.
you know, if more people were willing to do this sort of thing i could see UFC have a celebrity/ish division. you could get some kind of assortment of ~30something-40something guys who are looking for that reality-TV style plug for their (sagging?) careers and trot em out there for these overhyped stunt-matches, and then you can prolly sell fox sports 1 or maybe an even bigger network the inevitable reality show covering the pseudo/celebrities' entrance into UFC and how they adapt to training and etc. if they can turn out reality TV pretty quickly they could use the reality show as a device to hype up the fights and essentially have running infomercials on TV every week to get the most hype possible for the match.
altho the "celebrity division" might besmirch the otherwise sterling name of UFC and we couldn't have that. COMBAT SPORTS ARE THE FUTURE! REAL MEN GET 85% NAKED AND ROLL AROUND THE FLOOR "GRAPPLING" EACH OTHER IN A DESPERATE QUEST TO MAKE THE OTHER MAN SUBMIT!

CM Punk moving to UFC will do 2 things, sell a shit-load of PPVs, and prove to the world why Pro Wrestling is a billion times more entertaining.
Diaz needs to realize something. No1 gives a shit about him. He is upset by UFC doing things like signing punk and wanting him to talk shit about his opponents, well guess what dumbass, Your job is to sell fucking PPVs. Unfortunatly for you, you suck at that. That means Dana's gotta go out and sign someone that people are willing to pay money to see fight, like Punk. If you were entertaining, or gave fans a reason to get behind you, they wouldn't need Punk. you may not technically be an amateur, but you definitely can't get a payday on your own

Random thoughts for MMA in 2015, but mostly UFC shit.
UFC announced they signed Rampage, though he is still under contract with Bellator. Starting to think the UFC enjoys looking like a circus. With the Punk signing, and now bringing Rampage back after all the bullshit with him. Wouldn't surprise me if Tito came back now.
UFC has a few big fights to start the year off. DC vs Jones is January 3rd. Then the return of the GOAT and Nick Diaz on the 31st. The double title fight in February will be great. Weidman vs Vitor and Ronda vs Cat.

All things considered, you take away the Bader & Glover fights and Rampage hasn't looked that bad IMO. It's more of the bad blood he had with management that mad him look bad. That being said, he looked awful in those last 2 UFC fights. I could see him winning 1, maybe 2 more fights in the UFC, but he'll come nowhere close to where he was. I just hope they don't throw him in there with Top 10 guys right away. His competition in Bellator wasn't exactly best of the best. Put him on a UFC on Fox or early on a PPV. There's no reason he should be main eventing or co-main eventing a PPV.
Tito won't be back, that Bonnar fight was an absolute disaster. It was more of a pro wrestling match than MMA fight,
There's some serious stacked cards coming up. Fingers crossed everyone stays healthy.

I'm watching the CM Punk Q&A they are live streaming on YouTube for UFC 182. He came out to Cult of Personality. MMA fans have no room to bitch about wrestling fans being drunken tools. They were fucking terrible. Here's just some of the gems Punk got asked....
"Would you come to the after party & if so, I'll buy you a drink." "Would you rather have Jim Ross or Joe Rogan calling your fight?" "You think you're going to perform the GTS if given the chance?" "If/When you win your first fight, will you tell your opponent to suck it?" "How well would Samoa Joe make the transition into MMA?"
Other guys started their questions with smart ass comments saying "since you're here for the money" or "the number one reason you're here is money, but after that....."
The final question was a super drunk dude saying "Diaz brothers be killing you, would you ever fight one of them? Real talk!" Punk said "Oh shit, I have to sit down for this one, since it's real talk." The drunk dude then challenged him to Rock, Paper, Scissors with Punk declining saying he wasn't impressed with his performance.
It wasn't great. I felt bad for Punk. Wish they'd done this Q&A anywhere else other than Vegas.
