Why did they go straight to that report? Did I miss something? The content provided was severely lacking.
Give me back my propers dammit.

I fail to understand why Cutler is being discussed at length at this time. He won't be playing this weekend. No way, nohow. He is coming back in the future, so the season is not hinging on this one fact.
What say we talk a little Packer vs Bear? Meat and Sir had a nice little piece with Hillemeyer breaking down the game.
At some point I am sure Bull talk will take center stage and that is all fine and dandy with me too.

It's worth discussing if he is way ahead of schedule... which is what seems to be the case. While I agree there is probably no way he plays Monday, Trestman wouldn't rule him out.
Jay missing 1 game, instead of 4+ is a huge story. Changes the entire dynamics of the season.

And it also fucks with Detroit, who is on a bye.

Do you really think that makes a difference to another team? This is Jay Cutler. This isn't Rodgers or Peyton Manning.

I'm not sure it's because it's Cutler specific, but yea. I think if Detroit has to spend extra time preparing for one of 2 scenarios, it's beneficial to the Bears. I don't see a downside.

My next question would be why hypothesize about it now on WSCR? Then I thought about it, and answered my own question. Injury talk can move the meters. Dr. Bernstein enjoys those moments and does them better than most. Cutler is the face of your offense. So, they talk.
The real issue is #55 (in fairness they mentioned him in passing too). That defense is most atrocious. If that doesn't get better it matters not if Cutler comes back next week or the week after...

Dunleavy is also a good team defender. He is your 7th or 8th best player. Right where he should be on a winning team.

What do you mean? He can play the small guard, small forward or power forward position. He is like 6'10". His defense is solid, especially in one like the Bulls where help is so important. He is smart and unselfish. For you 7th or 8th best player on the team he is an excellent addition. Larger issues are: - Can Butler play the small guard effectively with Rose.
- Will Nazr be able to play enough minutes to effectively spell Noah at center
- Can Hinrich stay healthy? He is the best of the guards off the bench. If he gets hurt often, the Bulls take a significant step back in abilities. OKC hates the guy, and I understand some of it. But, he is so much better than any other option we have, or have had in several years, at running the team. He is not as bad at dribbling too much as he was with Skiles. Without him, Teague is just bad. Mike James is a mini Nate without the same shooting touch.

Bernstein is being an asshat.
This bench better than bench mob
Taj - same defense, better shoot Dunleavy - better defender and same shoosting skills as Korver Nazr - Step back from Omer. The lone person that could sink the battleship. Let's revisit in 2 months. Hinrich - Better defender and offense runner than CJ. Not as good at 3 point shot. Deng (if used) - Same, better 3 point shooter Butler (if used) - Better than Rip Hamilton who sometimes found himself as part of the 2nd team rotation

Smart player, good shooter. Isn't lost defensively, but isn't physical enough to handle many above average or better players.
Being able to play 3 positions and being able to be successful at 3 positions are different.
In my opinion, Dunleavy should play the 3...and guard only when necessary. I don't see him contributing as a 4. You're going to lose boards and he is going to get backed down by offensive forwards and centers...of which there are more in the East this year.

On the 2nd team he won't be regularly guarding the top line players either. Me thinks he will win more battles than he loses.
Yes, I am homering this up some. But hey, it's day 1.

Scott in Davenport is shockingly in the mix for the new Score Search 2013.

Whatever the merits of Dunleavy, and I think Beni has articulated nicely some of his positives, I just don't like that there's no shot-creator on this time except for Rose. The Even the Spurs struggled to get shots against Miami last year, but they had at least three guys (Parker, Ginobli, Leonard) who could do some damage without the help of a screen or set play. The Bulls don't have that guy. It's all on Rose. They'll get their 55-60 regular season wins, but the absence of this shot-creator will be more than evident in the fourth quarters of tight playoff games.

I am anxiously awaiting how the season unfolds. I understand the concern about a second bigtime scorer. I really feel that the combination of the pieces in place provide sufficient flexibility to create shots as needed. Can they knock them down? Time will tell. Butler, Dunleavy and Deng are the big questions. Boozer can hit it if given the chance. Deng has shown he can too (as long as it ain't a drive). We'll see.

Ethan Skolnick (sp) on to talk up the Heat.

For those of you Keeping Score at home, the cliffs
Heat in awesome shape. Everyone lost weight. Great Camp. Nobody fat and sassy. All starts with Lebron and his #striveforgreatness.
Heat tactical changes...still spreading the floor. Get Bosh in the paint more (he gotsa want to do that first). Skolnick not expecting any big changes.
9 guys from last year...the key guys...are all back. Beasley and or Oden aren't as important. Short minutes if anything.
Skolnick says Beasley hanging with Wade, Allen and James. The right attitude is present. He knows this is his last chance in the NBA.

Skolnick correctly states the Heat can just show up and beat 76ers, Charlotte and others. Still may have another #streak.
Skolnick has Bulls winning the Eastern conference regular season, and then getting pounded by his and Bernstein's favorite team the Heat.

Berns breaking down Rose, "He only speaks with his game. More on that after the break".
See, this is where I lose these guys. We are about to get some really creepy analysis of a guy that doesn't talk much. Bird only spoke with his game too. Unless he was going to publicly rip his teammates for being soft that is. He seemed to be just fine.
Next topic.

It's in God's hands...and mine. If this continues God's hands will instruct me to venture elsewhere. The He's not good at talking thing is a painful listen. Agreed. I wanted to call in and let them know that "hater," in my experience at least, is a rather innocuous term used to deflect criticism - even if it is constructive - and/or to motivate one's self in the face of said criticism. Unless the criticism is actually hate, such as racism or other forms of bigotry, calling someone a "hater" rarely means I think someone truly hates me. I'm not too far removed from the days in which my college friends and I used to casually throw this term around, and of course we meant nothing by it. I even know of a journalist friend who has the following phrase attached to each [personal] email as her signature "Haters gonna hate." Of course it's all in jest, and I wonder if this is just a catchphrase or trend that's just too far removed from Bernstein's time.

I can't figure out this new board to save my life but there should really be a "The Impotence of Zach Zaidman" thread. Maybe get Cialis to sponsor it. Get ol Zach firing the football through the tire swing as it were
