WWE Smackdown TV preview 10/18
Sitting in-between the Battleground and Hell in a Cell PPVs, Friday's WWE Smackdown will feature the latest developments on the WWE Title and World Title pictures heading into the HIAC PPV. Plus, a "special appearance" by C.M. Punk.
Following last week's bizarre show with a short-handed crew, Smackdown is back to the basics with a main event of the Rhodes Bros. & Daniel Bryan vs. The Shield in a six-man tag. This will follow up on the Rhodes Bros. capturing the Tag Titles from Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns on Raw.
Concerning Punk's appearance, Punk will be in singles action against Big E. Langston. The match will be a vehicle to promote the Punk vs. Ryback & Paul Heyman match at the HIAC PPV.
Also, World Hvt. champion Alberto Del Rio will be on the show to promote his title defense against John Cena at HIAC.

I'd love to have ADR's title reign mercy-killed once and for all. That guy is just so damn bland.

I might need to watch that. Or at least DVR it. Does "dvr" get capitalized or no? Same goes for TV, tv. Always confuses me.

Until Kamps gets here. Then you'll talk about his handsomeness and forget about me. Is he coming? Giggity? I texted him yesterday about it. He said he'd join soon. He doesn't even post that much on the other board though, so "soon" could mean....any point between now and the rapture.

In an interview with SLAM Wrestling, Scott Hall revealed whether or not he would go back to WWE. Here are highlights: On steroids in pro wrestling and sports: "If you're going to try to be a pro athlete, why not use everything available to you? I'm not trying to get too involved in (the discussion), but I don't have a problem with pro athletes being on steroids. You read about all of these baseball players getting in trouble, but I think there are a lot more important things going on in the world today than whether pro athletes use steroids to perform good. I'm not a big baseball fan, but I remember back when all those guys were hitting home runs all the time, and it was just more fun to watch." On his son Cody's plans in wrestling: "Now that Cody's breaking into the wrestling business -- he's had 20 or so matches so far -- we're looking at some international bookings to get him seasoned and ready for anything that may happen for him in the U.S." On working for WWE again: "It would be a dream come true for me but I want to clarify, it's not up to me. If it were up to me, then I would love to have the Bobby Heenan job. I was always a big fan of Bobby Heenan. I would love to wear the headphones and a tacky sports coat, and be the heel commentator who just managed a select couple of guys. Bobby used to put down the headphones and head to the ring to manage Mr. Perfect and then Ric Flair. In my own fantasy world, created solely by me, I would love to be the Bobby Heenan broadcaster and then walk to the ring with Cody and maybe manage a sweet tag team and maybe one Diva. That would be my stable, and I'd be fine with that." Read more at www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/301103/Scott-Hall-Talks-About-Working-For-WWE-Again.htm#0MZwFHY7t8B7UybS.99

I'll believe it when I see it, but I hope it's true.
WWE's long planned cable could debut as early as early next year, according to sources within the sports-entertainment organization. One source specifically states that a target date is set for February 24, 2014, which is the day after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event. While the date has yet to be confirmed by a second source, people in WWE are working under the assumption that the WWE Network will be launched within the first quarter of next year.

Share2 Tweet5 1 Share58 Posted in: WWE Backstage News on Why Dolph Ziggler Has Heat By Marc Middleton
- Regarding why Dolph Ziggler seems to be stuck in the midcard right now, he has the reputation backstage for being someone with a bad attitude. It's said that WWE officials don't like the way he represents himself backstage, the way he speaks to people and the way he speaks to the media. While Ziggler tries to make it sound like he's keeping with the storylines, there are people within WWE that don't like how he speaks out about the company.

It's funny how Ziggler's push is stalled because he supposedly has a bad attitude, yet Ortman had an attitude from day one and has been pushed nonstop from the beginning.
And a bad attitude backstage apparently never hurt Shawn Michaels either.

Remember the post-Mania Raw when Sheamus and Orkman were the match where the crowd absolutely shit on it and the "Thank you Big Show" chants?
Yeah those were the days...

Is There Backstage Heat on Ryback? Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 10.26.2013 Details of backstage feelings on Ryback... - There is reportedly a lot of heat on Ryback from the WWE over the last month. There is a feeling backstage that Ryback's in-ring work has regressed. In addition, many WWE officials are rumored to feel that Ryback is becoming more of a danger in the ring for his opponents and has been roughing up other workers, such as CM Punk. Another reason that Ryback has heat is because his recent media appearance have not gone as well as planned. There are reportedly talks that Ryback acts like he does not want to be at the events and is hard to deal with. One source said that Ryback looks constantly "annoyed" when making appearances for the WWE. The report also states that Vince McMahon is considering taking Paul Heyman off of Ryback, so Heyman can work with another wrestler. A quote that was said about Ryback is "the bloom is off the rose" unless he can turn things around. Dude has had shit handed to him forever. Fuck him if he can't get it together.
If they do put Heyman with someone else, it'll probably be Big E.

He was brought up and put into the hottest angle at the time. Then he was hurt.
Then he was given the opportunity to be the face of the company against Punk.
Then he was given Heyman.
If he can't figure it out now, time to move on.

I'd love to see Big E paired with Heyman. They have an easy explanation right now as well. Heyman saw more in him. He's not just a rookie. Big E struck me as a guy that could be a legit star Friday.

Backstage News on Punk's Hell In a Cell Match, Update on Colt Cabana's WWE Tryout, More By Marc Middleton Oct 27, 2013 - 7:59:43 AM
- We noted before Colt Cabana revealed on Steve Austin's podcast that he was scheduled for a WWE announcers tryout soon but then downplayed the reports on Twitter. Despite Cabana saying "no WWE for me", word within WWE is that he's still scheduled for a tryout some time in November.
- CM Punk was written into plans for last Tuesday's SmackDown tapings but was pulled because he's banged up and officials didn't want him to get injured any more going into tonight's Hell In a Cell pay-per-view.
Word going around WWE creative is that Punk is going into the pay-per-view hurt and that's probably going to affect how his match with Ryback and Paul Heyman is booked tonight. Tonight's match is not scheduled to be the end of the Punk vs. Heyman feud

This Paul Heyman is my kind of guy. I wouldn't have added Curt's adopted kid, but we all have our Red Rooster's. All he has to do with Ryback is teach him to breathe and walk at the same time. If he's got that down, the guy's a winner.
