We are almost at the halfway point to Wrestlemania 32. The biggest event in the history of wrestling. They want to get, reportedly, 105,000 fans in Jerry's Palace. It's time for match predictions. I tried to do it, and I came up unsure about anything. What are your thoughts? Don't make this your dream Mania card. I don't need Owens v Tanahashi in the main event. What do you think the actual matches will be?
This is the best I can come up with right now.
Steve Austin is the host of Wrestlemania 32
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match Rock v HHH
Undertaker v Sting
Brock Lesnar v John Cena
WWE Tag Team Title Match TLC New Day v Dudleys v Hardys v TBD
Kurt Angle v Rusev
Rollins v Reigns v Ambrose

I'm leaning towards the idea that they'll do Taker vs Cena. I'll have to give this some thought. Owens/Lesnar?

I'm sure I'll change this a ton, but as of right now, if they want to go with newer faces, but also have older names to draw people in, I'm going with this. Taker, if this is his last year, need to lose in his final match & it needs to be against a future star, not a limited schedule guy. It's in Texas, perfect farewell for him. Owens could be that guy. I could also see them doing a rematch with Wyatt though & Bray getting his major win. This is another year Cena doesn't need to be highlighted. Having a feud with Ziggler, they could build a ton for months & have Dolph be heel going into it. Orton/Brock has NEVER happened (except for SD in 2002). Trips/Rock is inevitable. Tag Team will most likely again be a 4 way like it's been in past years. Divas title is the most difficult to predict.
WWE World Title Rollins vs Ambrose vs Reigns
Undertaker vs Kevin Owens (yeah, that's right)
Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton
Rock vs Triple H
WWE United States Title John Cena vs Dolph Ziggler
WWE Tag Team Title Match New Day vs Dudleys vs Usos vs Harper/Strowman (or Hardys, in which case I agree TLC)
WWE Divas Title Charlotte vs Sasha Banks vs Paige vs Nikki Bella
Bray Wyatt vs Cesaro
Andre The Giant Battle Royal

Cena is a strong possibility & a fitting one to send Taker out with. It's like Shawn did with Flair. Ending the Undertaker's career could make Cena hated among a lot more fans. More than hate him now.

I wonder if Sting will wrestle again? What's his prognosis currently?

I want to see Flair vs Vince in a Battle Shots match....that will go on backstage and be updated every few minutes.

I would have to believe that Finn Balor might be a really big thing right around that time. Not sure who they'd put him with though.

Way to creative and skilled to be Cena. I will say this.... He looks awesome from the limited times I have seen him. His entrances are awesome but.......they kind of need to be done like HHH's. If I see that entrance every monday night its going to start to get tired. I don't want something so awesome to lose its effect. Do something short and sweet for RAW and then go balls out for the PPV's. Even feel free to do the awesome alternative entrances like the joker one or something new.

His body paint entrance is only used for special events to make it.....special. I love him in the ring, but the mic skills aren't anywhere close to top guy levels.

I also wonder if Dana will stick to his guns and not allow Rousey to "compete." I find that near impossible to believe.

When the hell is Punk going to fight for him? Anytime he wants to give that crap up and come back would be swell.

Ronda won't wrestle. If anything it'll be her in The Rocks corner & Steph in Trips. If they did to a mixed tag, there's no way she's taking bumps. That's Dana's cash cow (a very attractive cash cow I might add). There's no way he's going to risk her getting hurt for Vince.
Punk will never come back to the WWE. Now, if he wants to tear the house down with the Young Bucks or Adam Cole, by all means, but I think MMA is his thing t least for a little while. Dana & Joe Silva will have him fight another new guy & if things go well, great, if not, Dana still cashes in on his debut.
I could see the NXT title being defended at Mania, but I don't see Balor being on the main roster by Mania this year.

So many things to think about in this thread. I'd like to hope by the time Wrestlemania™ rolls around that perhaps they realize what a thing they have in Cesaro but that seems unlikely.
And then there's weird little things like if they'll want Rollins to beat Punks streak for whatever petty reason.

Vince never got Sting, so he created Cena. Balor can talk, not sure who says his mic skills aren't there because they are, he's just more soft spoken. The two different sides to him with the Rock n Rolla leather jacket wearing badass, and the Demon that gets unleashed at big events makes him feel like a star. He's flawless in the ring, kids already love him, and he's Triple H's golden boy...yeah he's going to be huge unless Big Nose Dunn and a 70 year old decide otherwise.

Do you have any specific promos where he was awesome? I'm not doubting you at all, and I should spend more time watching his New Japan run. He's admitted himself he's an introvert, and comes out of his shell with the body paint deal. I like the comp of spooky Sting. Undertaker as well. If he does need a mouthpiece, I have an idea. It doesn't make sense with that amazing entrance to have a manager in front, or behind you. What if you have the arena dark, and you have his mouthpiece standing in the middle of the ring with a spotlight before every entrance. The mouthpiece can cut a promo, the arena goes dark, and you get his entrance. People would be going crazy before the promo because they know what's coming. It would make the entrance even bigger, and make him an even bigger star. The dude can be absolutely huge.

Yeah I was more referencing NJPW when it comes to his mic work but every time he talks in NXT it seems like it just comes easy to him. He's fluid when he talks unlike Reigns or Ziggler, but usually keeps it short and sweet. I've been comparing the demon to Crow Sting for awhile with KS, and really felt like before they dropped the ball with Bray they could set up a new age Sting vs Undertaker with the two at Mania. Imagine Bray standing in the ring and saying Sister Abigail told him he needs a new challenge, and he wants to destroy what we love: NXT. Then the lights go out and Finn's Demon music hits with the red lights and smoke. Man I would mark out.

They can still do it. Bray's still over. I love it. I wonder if the shine is off Bray with casual fans, or just wanks like us?

I'm not sold on Balor promos quite yet, but he'll get there, no doubt. Seth Rollins SUCKED at talking when he first started & is easily the most improved talker in wrestling IMO. As long as Balor doesn't call people Fella 98 times a promo, I think he'll be just fine.

They want these guys to learn how to do promos to really be money. I think you could give him a manager, not Heyman, and let him do half of his promos. There's so much money in that guy. Whenever I see him, the wrestling business side of me goes crazy. But I do think he currently sucks at promos.

You also have to take into consideration he's been in Japan most of his career, so his promos never had to be great. He just had to say certain words to get his point across to the Japanese fans. Then whenever he wrestled in the states, it's usually on indy shows, where you never talk.
So in that regard, he definitely gets a pass. He'll improve, for sure. However, there's no getting around it, if he's going to be great on the main roster, he's going to need to talk. Can't build feuds around silence. And we all know WWE loves to fill at least 2 hours of Raw each week with talking.

Yeah Balor's promos in Japan weren't anything special.
They were very generic that got over with the Japanese crowd.

Better than Show, Neville, Kane. Though comedy Kane makes me laugh.
