Work. They've already said they're trying to re-book the Punk angle from 2011. This does that. Agreed. AJ doesn't have many options. He could travel the world and probably make something similar. But he supposedly loves his family. So that could suck. I think TNA is onto something. Seriously. They're going to attempt to blur the lines. It probably won't work, but it's the best example put in front of me to change things.

I need to start paying some more attention to them.
Every week I Rant™, and every week I'm constantly giving segment after segment a 1/10, 2/10 or 3/10.
RAW sucks ass. There's lots of awesome wrestlers, personalities, factions, but somehow they always blow it in the long run.
Looking to TNA for some sort of positive direction is probably a big mistake, but it won't be the first time I've done so.
I'm in.

Surprising. I thought he was getting his power back. Apparently the "big" celebrity that was interested in purchasing the company was Toby Keith, not Billy Corgan. The deal fell through, and the guy negotiating it was JJ.

Wow. I think we're going to see more of their big, older names resign shortly which have nothing to do with this JJ resignation.

It looks like JJ screwed us out of Jim Ross running a new promotion.
FYI...I have not had any conversations with anyone about starting a 'new' pro wrestling promotion. I have not spoken to Jeff Jarrett since he left WWE on a day that doesn't rank too high on my list of fun days at work.
Some websites are irresponsibly running with the story that just because Toby Keith and I are friends and fellow Okies who both follow the Sooners that I'm about to do business with Toby and Jeff Jarrett which isn't true. Toby and I had dinner at the Sugar Bowl, he's a wrestling fan from the old days and, a helluva entrepreneur with deep pockets. Nonetheless the reason that we were there was to support our Sooners vs. Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and not talk about pro wrestling.
We did talk the wrestling biz some but that's not unusual for me in any conversation after a 40 year career within the genre. We also talked country music, business investments, OU football and we spent the afternoon together with ESPN's Brad Nessler who's another wrestling fan. Yes, TNA came up a time or two but that was really a non issue in our conversations.
I am not motivated to re-engage in the wrestling business on a daily basis and it would take a mighty healthy offer to consider such. The politics and paranoia that go along with today's rasslin business isn't healthy for me to be around on a full time basis especially at this stage of my life.
Plus, I have a specific philosophy regarding how the business should be presented that doesn't seem to be in fashion these days.

I don't know about JJ so much, but I do like the name of Toby Keith being thrown around. According to Forbes, Keith's net worth is around $300 million. He also strikes me as the type that would have nothing to do with cartoonish crap in his organization. Toby Keith and Jim Ross seem like a match made in heaven. Damn Jarrett

300 million? Wow. I didn't know he had that kind of coin. That's the exact type of guy you need. It would take start up cash of about 30-50 million depending on how they want to operate.

Jesse Sorenson Says Dixie Carter Asked For a Favor After His TNA Release Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 01.12.2014 She wanted him to help with damage control... Credit: WrestleZone - Here are some highlights of a recent Highspots interview with Jesse Sorenson covering his injury, TNA departure and more: - At the hospital, Jesse's mom was freaking out about the bills, but Dixie Carter re-assured her in front of everyone that she didn't have to worry about money. - Jesse said Dixie specifically said, "As long as I have this company, you'll always have a job." Dixie even told Jesse's mom she thought of him like her son as well. At one point Sorensen's mom referred to him as "my son," and Dixie corrected her and said, "You mean OUR son." - Jesse could move after the first few days, but was in too much pain to walk. Out of nowhere, Kurt Angle burst into the hospital room, gave him the mother of all motivational speeches, told him to stop feeling sorry for himself and get up and go on with his life. Jesse later managed to walk down the hall to the bathroom. - He gets the criticism about wrestling again, but says it makes him happy and you have to live life to the fullest. He admits he might be addicted to wrestling. - When he broke his neck he was under his mom's insurance, but admits the insurance was "pretty crappy" and maxed out at $10,000. - He paid for his MRIs, doctor appointments, cat scans and rehab himself. He said he has friends in WWE who were stunned at the situation because if they ever got hurt, they never even saw a medical bill. He said the only way his mom managed to rid herself of the bills was to file for bankruptcy. - TNA's response to his complaints about medical costs was to give him a production job that paid decently. Jesse denies it was a lot of money though, especially compared to guys like Hogan. - He got fired and said the company seemed taken aback by the massive negative reaction. Dixie called Sorensen after the "Ask Dixie" stuff flared up and asked him if they could release a joint statement saying the release was 100% amicable and he asked to be let go to pursue other things. He said no and told her to just let it blow over. His mom was furious at Dixie for even asking. Probably what a Bucks game looks like too. Except if TNA received the number one pick, the guy would choose to go overseas.

As noted last week, TNA has started making changes to their office in Nashville. Tommy Dreamer, who has been talking with TNA since last fall, was hired as a senior agent. Bully Ray and Taz had a lot of influence in getting the deal with Dreamer done. TNA Executive Vice President of Television Production John Gaburick has a great relationship with Taz and Bully stemming from their time at WWE, and appreciates their feedback on the product and what independent wrestlers they might want to sign. Taz and Bully are also unofficially helping with booking at TV tapings. Dreamer has already hinted that he would be happy to help TNA with anything they want to get him involved with, but for now he is just doing agent work. He does not plan on wrestling regularly for TNA.
TNA's creative team consists of head writer David Lagana with Matt Conway working under him. Both report to Gaburick, who plays a big part in what airs on Impact each week.
Lagana recently sent feelers out to both WWE and Ring of Honor, hinting that he could be available to work for either group as early as this spring. There is interest from both companies, especially now that WWE is starting their own network. Lagana has over 15 years of producing TV under his belt and is well liked within the company. Prior to TNA, Lagana worked for ROH, so a return is a no brainer to most internally.

So they have this local indy show once or twice a year at a pretty small venue that is put on to mostly benefit the humane society. This springs is sold out, which never happens and its sold out in January. They will usually pull one has been like The Hurricane. The biggest name they had was Abyss but he decided to become joseph park and he bailed. This springs has Honkey Tonk man and AJ Styles?? How the hell did they get AJ Styles to do this? Now I'm pisses its sold out before I even knew it was going to happen.

I could see the next two years being a foreign and indy tour, and doing shows in Kesha's backyard. If TNA is still around, he comes back for a more relaxed schedule.
